@@nathanaelwilliams6227don’t you think he or she has tried that?!!! Who just wants to be homeless??? Humble yourself because you can find yourself in a similar situation one day.

Fellow youth indigenous canadian here: I was in cfs for a long time, and when I got out I immediately struggled with homelessness. I'm here to let you know that you have my support and you're in my thoughts. I really do hope things that work out for you, and each step closer to finding stable housing; may it all fall into place for you. I know my comment isn't much... but I'm rooting for you. Subscribed!!! :) edit to add: In canada, in some provinces they are campaigning against homelessness & that housing is and should be a basic human right!
my dream has always been to skate all over japan. i was able to somewhat accomplish my goal since i went to japan for 2 months and i stayed in tokyo and kyoto alone and man it was the best.
I saw you in the girl who interviewed you. I thought at one point how in a hell an Asian American dude ended up in Japan as your English is so perfect. My friend, I hope during your travels from places to places, I hope you find the true of you. Just from my view of life, if you can manage to live the way you are doing right now…Money and Materials are not of importances…Please, go into a place/town/countryside…find a job that pay the rent, settle it. I am sure that you have lots of fans or viewers who will be willing to help you settle once you settle. I am myself will surely donate some dollars from Minnesota USA… Good luck
Being homeless changes your whole perspective on life. You realize how it's the simple things like privacy, toothpaste, soap, water, nail clippers, a hair comb, shoes and clean clothes that really form the foundation of modern living.
I sold all my belongings when I was 29 in Toronto, packed what was left in my bag and jumped on a train to Vancouver. Lived in various parks between Vancouver and Victoria and traveled all around BC and Alberta for 3 and a half years while I worked and bankrolled all my money. Best memories of my life. Most people go into debt to avoid homelessness. I went homeless to avoid going into debt. Ironically, the longer I did it to save money for an apartment, the less I needed the apartment. Over time, you just get used to it. You learn a routine. Your body adjusts to the elements. Your immune system strengthens. You get better sleep because you're constantly outside. You learn to live with only what you can carry on your back. You realize how little you actually need. It reprograms your brain to not want anything that you can't use. It's like detox. Anyway sorry for the rant, your videos have brought back some amazing memories for me. Keep up the great work dude. New subscriber here. Don't lose focus on your goals bud.
@@TypicalVirgo823 Down. Lots of down. Down vest, down jacket, down pants, down socks, all wrapped in a down sleeping bag. With a Thermarest X-Therm sleeping pad underneath. Slept like a baby.
@@iReturnV1deotapes I could see doing that ... but I'd live in my car. Do Uber to keep things paid for and have money, let go of everything BK then save up.
TLDR I used be homeless and it's horrific, more than most people will ever know. Please be kind to them. I was made homeless by my mum in the UK when I was nearly 15. Lived on and off the streets till I was 24. It changed me dramatically. Even though I have a business and a home now I think once you live on the streets and you experience the abuse and dehumanization it's very very difficult to regain that lost spark. 9 years after I came in off the streets, I still just sit inside on my laptop all day every day because I sort of feel like if I go out for too long my home won't be here when I get back. I spend almost all of my time obsessing over making money with my online agency business. Not because I am greedy or want nice things, I'm super frugal. It's because the only thing that gives me any level of mental relief is knowing I have enough money that if I lost my business and everything else today, I would never have to go back on the streets. Even then, I have more savings than anyone I personally know and I still have minor panic attacks most nights that someone's going to come and take my belongings and kick me out. I don't spend time with people, because of the things that other homeless or members of the public did to me when I had to sleep. I don't drink or party because I was addicted and I dont want to ever slip up in any way. Because that could jeapordize everything I have built. Once you've been homeless, you realize the tightrope that everyone is constantly walking and it's terrifying.
Damn man. Like 8 days ago I posted about how cool it was to watch you go from 200 to over 2000. Now in 8 days your at 7500? Very happy to see your quick growth. Keep up the awesome content. You deserve this success because of your genuine content.
Who is here because of watching Oriental Pearls video? Brother. I'm sorry to see you are struggling. I am from North Carolina in the US. I hav been a skater over half my life now. I am 41 so we are close in age. I also have bouts of depression as well. I wish you good health and prosperity. And if there is anything I can do to help please don't hesitate to ask. I would love a sticker. If I am ever in the country I will definitely try and contact you. Stay strong and positive minded. God Bless!!!
Me to, I grew up as a skater in Central NC. I saw her video and as soon as he said he had youtube I was like I'm subbing and liking everything to help this dude out.
I was homeless in my early 30s for about a year in Canada after losing my house. Now, over 10 years later, I'm living in Thailand, married, with two children, and I paid for a house and car in cash. Keep dreaming and enjoy your freedom to travel, which is true wealth. I'm sure your channel will grow!
@@angerskarin9222People probably don't want to live where their money goes 10 times further (rural Africa with no infrastructure). In Thailand, for example, you can get cheap local food and rent, but everything else is about the same or more expensive, like western food, electronics, cars, or private children's education. The closer you are to the popular places, the more expensive it gets. My friend was surprised to pay the equivalent of $10 USD per cocktail on a popular beach in Thailand. You can probably live comfortably with $2K per month but that's not sustainable with a family. I spend way more than that and I don't even have to pay rent because we own the house.
I was homeless more than once in my life. The last time I was actually living in the streets and not just in my car or couch surfing. The last 6 years have seen me save and get an apartment and then a better one and then a better one in a very nice area. I got married to my long time boyfriend and we both have excellent jobs now and make good money with benefits. We have a 4 year old daughter and go to sports and family and friend gatherings. It feels like a lifetime ago and no one now who knows me knows I was homeless on the streets. I still get depressive episodes but things are all around better which makes them easier to get through and manage. I’m 37 as well, I just felt every emotion in this video so deeply. I hope you find your way and I hope things only get easier and better for you. If it can happen for me it happen for anyone. I promise you that it does get better ❤
Just turned 31 my self. Lost my job and had to move back in with my parents. Having a hard time getting back in my feet. Hopefully we both make some positive progress. Sending well wishes from Florida in the USA❤
It’s time to learn some new skills . I took up wood working during Covid and now I’m making custom pieces for people. It’s all very rewarding to complete a project. Trust me we all get stuck sometimes we just need to venture outside the box society thinks we belong in
He seems very optimistic despite his circumstances. I'm homeless too but don't suffer any weather swings, job shortage or injury anymore. I'm saving lots of money. I'm more happy than before and don't feel depressed as before. Have a piece of land all paid but need a house to build soon!
Bro your English is so perfect that Japanese kids think you are a foreigner! Haha. It was fun to see your wholesome interaction. I live next to a large elementary school in Kanagawa and I always feel like I make the kids nervous so I try to give them space. lol
Let's make this channel grow! Then, maybe, if you still feel like living the nomad life, you could travel the world and skate across other places. Maybe you'll even find yourself a skate-nomad tribe. 🤘
I was born a loner and don't require companies. I understand being homeless when I lived in my van to relocate to the plains state until start of winter. I sympathize with your current state, hang in there.
Many of your viewers are from America. Would you consider doing a comparison on how homelessness is similar and different between Japan and the US? Also, maybe do some interviews with other homeless people to get perspective of how they became homeless and what their hardships are. I wish you the best.
My dream is to see your channel grow so big you have a nomad Van, a studio, a house. It would be rad to see a series where you help other unhoused people in Japan from a platform of strength and financial independence and the support of your channel. ❤❤❤ You are working so hard everyday to make this channel while in a situation that demands so much of your energy and labor. I admire how hard you are working and I pray that you are soon in a safe place where you can rest freely every day. We are cheering for your success!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I found you from your interview with Alyssa. I was wondering if you could explain how you learned English so well! You said you didn't know English very well in your interview with her, but It's really impressive! I'm so glad you are doing English content now so more of the world can get to know you.
I found you from the other girl's channel as well. Thank you for sharing your life and challenging experience with the world. It really helped me to rethink my own perspective on life. Best wishes from the USA. ❤
10.4k?! That‘s amazing, and you really deserve it! I hope you‘ll be monetized soon and finally get paid for the important work you are doing ♥️ Thank you!
Saw you on Oriental Pearl. Got curious on where/how you learned English. You sound like someone who has lived in the USA for several years or much more. Decided to subscribe, which I do sparingly, because you came across as an interesting and genuine person much like Oriental Pearl and unlike so many others on RU-vid who really are not so. Wishing you all the best.
was homeless for 2 years in the USA at 18 years and my mind have been changed forever. I now see the real world that is hidden for the rest of the world and I now thankful for all I have now and no it can be taken away is a flash. But one plus I loved the freedom I had, and you see the human in people to know that the world is not all evil.
great video. I love how you go find the people who helped you along the way with a sticker and that one man put the sticker on his brand NEW car? That is crazy. Its obvious to me that Japanese people love to help and be kind to each other. This video was so good. The no skateboarding sign is confusing though. It shows you doing tricks and that but you are not doing that if you are just passing through. you are just trying to go faster.
Thank you for sharing your life with us. Japan is not what i imagined, its on my bucket list but now im not so sure. I know poverty exists everywhere, I'm homeless myself and now live with my mother in law, not ideal but thats life. The british government dont care about my situation and I'm 54, but I honestly thought japan would be different towards its citizens and more helpful considering all the empty houses. Hope your situation improves buddy, I'm praying for you.
You can never give up dude. Whether some of us believe in a higher being or not, you are my brother. I know you had a good job and it's hard to get back to that level but you have to try. We give thanks for water, shelter and life even if it's the most minimal.
Kanazawa looks really nice! Also very cool of you, that you want to show your friends, who helped you on your skate-trip through Japan, some appreciation with your visits and sticker :D I will keep your playlist running in the background a lot, you almost have enough watch time :D
Honestly, big thanks to oriental pearl for putting you on man. I'm so happy I found your channel. I've loved Japan since I was very young. Watching your videos, I feel very included in what you're doing, haha. I love learning the little bits of information about the area you're in. Thank you so much for making these videos
Welcome to hokuriku!! hahaha. That was a quick stop in Fukui. I would have met up for a sticker though :P It should start warming up from now. I think those kids thought you were a foreigner.
It's cool that you came to Ishikawa. It's so beautiful there no matter where you go. I know some people from Wajima who lost their home in the earthquake but they're doing okay now and rebuilding. I hope everyone else up north is doing better and getting the help they need. It would be awesome if you could set up some kind of online drop-ship store so people could buy those stickers and other merch, and you could make some extra money too!
In my opinion, should probably keep those specific stickers as IRL exclusive merch. That said, could do additional merch online but should be at least slightly different. Limited run / exclusive merch seems like a relatively easy way to increase value.
My dude, found your channel from pearl. I know this might sound ignorant or selfish. I apologise in advance. But I’m deff interested in what happening in Japan behind the scenes. Obviously the news we get about Japan isn’t correct. 👍 thank you for the insights through your videos. Hopefully 🤞 your videos include the beautiful seasons of Japan.
Hello from New Zealand. I look forward to supporting you by watching your videos. I hope your channel.does.well so that you'll be able to get off the streets.
I saw an documentation the other day about abandonned houses in small villages in Japan. Some people move there in order to find a new meaning in their live, also strangers which i found rather asthonishing.
I did some research but hopefully the question gets proffessionally covered soon because I see a lot people asking the same. Homeless don't have good acess to those houses and most of abandoned houses are illegal to use, not eartquake-proof, full of bugs, badly needing repair. It's problematic. Someone wrote: "In Japan especially the irony is that many country homes are up for sale for USD 1 - USD 100, but the irony is that those homes would not be accessible to many of the homeless as the community center will not allow them to move in there." Someone else commented earlier: "Those empty houses are called akiya houses and yes some of them are completely free to own but until you have to pay for various kind of taxes and fees from the municipal authorities. Also the very reason these abandonded houses were left like that because you have to pay for demolition of the house yourself and yet again more fees to the authorities for actually selling your land/ house and such." See, bunch of issues, every type. From practical to cultural and so on. Homeless tend to be unseen and society wants them to be hidden, so some of them rather vanish into bamboo bush than start dealing with paperwork. Laws, taxes, rules can be harder challenge than melting back into nature.
@@liivikasaarman995 holy moly you digged really deep. It just came to my mind when I saw the video the other day. But at least I try to support the channel....
My best friend has been living in Japan for like at least 15 years now and I traveled to Japan as well. You get the impression that everything there is in tip top shape. No poverty, no mental health issues etc. . Thank you so much for helping me to widen my view on life in Japan. Lots of greetings from Germany 💖🇯🇵🇩🇪.
Yeah mental health is an issue here, especially since its a more rigid society. HOWEVER, housing ins't an issue. There are REALLY cheap places to live here if you want and the gov helps. Been here 24 years....I'm in real estate here and own many home. Unfortunately, our NOMAD here is using this tactic to get views on the internet ;)
@@KickAssets I'm surprised housing isn't more of an issue considering Japan is a fairly small country land-wise, but I guess they probably just planned much more efficiently due to that being the case
@@rUSTYfrfr Yeah, there can be many reasons...such as in the bubble time a lot of people had vacation homes that they no longer use anymore as well as people liking new and people moving from their hometowns into big cities.
Hey, is there a site where we can send you some help? I think once you finally get fully on your feet, homelessness will be a thing of the past for you.
@@NomadPush Maybe you or someone can set up a GoFundMe account. I think it good if we could all help and get you going on your life minus the homelessness.
You don't have to be alone. Trust in Jesus, He will never leave you. 1 Peter 5:7 ~ Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. Psalm 147:3 ~ He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. John 14:18 ~ “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. God bless you.

Came here from Oriental Pearl's video & subbed to the channel. Figured it was the least I could do to help. I've watched this one and will watch more of yours. Also, seeing those different people made me think, damn, might as well have been all Americans, lol. I had to remind myself _"This guy is in Japan"._ I guess that made the world feel a little smaller. I wish you luck in growing your channel ❤
So I've seen comments saying if you can afford camera 2nd equipment, expenses to travel etc, then I look to see full comment they are gone???? I do agree with those comments! I was homeless for a year (I know not long) but to have those luxuries as a homeless person?, hmmm! Please ppl understand real homeless ppl actually need help and advice, therapy etc! This guy must have a place with money he's just not showing or something and yall pay for videos by a con man! Good job woke earth!!!
Wow!! You’re too young and sober to be living this way, ie. without a stable residence. Your English is great as well!! Couldn’t you be a translator? Or so many other positions you could fill. This just blows my mind!!!! Anyway, whatever your dream is dear brother, find a way…Keep moving forward with whatever it is that’s on your heart. And lastly but first, I don’t know if you know God but it’s definitely worth talking to Him about all this!! Keep the videos coming Nomad! Visiting prefectures and showing their beuty as a skateboarder is pretty cool ! Glad to see your channel starting to grow, keep up the hard work
I don’t know for sure but I imagine you would be a good companion / translator for English speaking visitors. Everything there was so very confusing socially as well as trying to shop, find things. I would have paid easily $100+ for like 5 hours a day plus your meals, travel, etc. Probably would buy you new clothes and etc. Probably more. And I am not rich. I don’t know how you would find your customers though. Just an idea. It was very confusing, the English signs are jibberish and so are a lot of the translations. Your English is perfect.

I want to travel to Japan and have for the majority of my life, I am a few years younger then you and am not homeless but still get the whole lonely thing. From viewing a lot of your videos, I think all of Japan is your home.
Hey man, I know it's not the same but you'll never really be alone with the community you're building on here :) I live alone now, just my cat and I. Always working too without much time to see friends. I get the feeling.
When you feel lonely, know that you aren't alone. So many people in the world feel the same way. There are RU-vid channels where people live out of their vehicles, driving around the province/world without any permanent friends. I'm not homeless myself but I'm the same age as you (37) and it's hard to make friends when you're older I think. I don't have a girlfriend any more, my friends all got too busy with family life and I basically get all of my social interaction at work now. It would be nice if you found some sort of community/organization where you just work (even for free) a few times per week. Something that you actually like doing by choice. That would help alleviate the loneliness if you get to know the same people week by week. For now: know that you have your RU-vid community! People are watching you and people that you've never met before care about you.
I also know what its like to be lonely, learn to embrace it. One of the good things about it is that you don't have many distractions, take advantage of that. Loneliness tends to point us inward and can offer us gifts we didn't even know we needed. Also I'd recommend adding some sort of background music to your videos, especially when showing off beautiful environments. The best vlogging channels tend to do this so I'm sure it'll work for you too. Not trying to tell you what to do, it's just a suggestion. Great video none the less!
