The game was so special cause its a sonic game that is not named sonic we play only shadow we use guns no spindash or homing attack we are edgy and still music hit harder that my dad
I still have mine. I actually own one copy on the PS2 (Which I the one I got originally when the game first came out) And I got the Gamecube version over 10 years later, where I found it at a yard sale for 2 or so bucks.
Roble Jimale For some weird reason when I was a kid I remember seeing the rating for Sonic & the Secret Rings as a 'T'. Idk why. Then I went to the store one day and was surprised to see it as rated E.
@Nylthanyr IV I'm not sure whether or not that can be substantiated. When I hear it I hear it as a decisive question, "Black-hearted evil, or brave-hearted hero?"
@@draconicdeity2035 ya gotta make em right tho. My mum brought these cruddy coffee beans and when I put them in chocolate the texture wasn't nice - even BEFORE the chocolate was on them, they weren't great
Being older I can see all the flaws of this game and how silly it was, but as a kid, this was the SHIT. So they were half right, it's just not something I think they should represent their whole brand. Music is a guilty pleasure tho.
Wouldn't they say words like "piss" and "ass" if it was a T game? I'm sorry from where I come from, the equivalent for the T rating is 12+, where those words are muttered if vulgar language is in the game
The funny thing about Shadow is that he only became an edgelord once he lost his memory. Before that, he was a pretty standard anti-hero who said goofy shit like "I'm the coolest!"
“So let me get this straight, you think that I am... All of Me by Crush 40 (Main Theme of Shadow the Hedgehog) is a good song?” “I do, and I’m tired of pretending it’s not.”
I’ll never forget watching the second Sonic film on its premiere release date and hearing the fanboy yell of someone in the back of the audience during the post credit scene, while there were still a bunch of kids around, screaming out loud “Its Shadow!” like a kid on Christmas morning after seeing the legend himself onscreen lol
my dad had a big pack of burnt xbox game discs that he got from some guy. idk the origin i just know he didnt burn em himself. so when i saw a plain white disk labeled "shadow the hedgehog" i thought "oh cool like sonic" and watched the intro where sonic promptly fucking died or something. 7 year old me was shook. imagine having only played about 20% of sonic and the secret rings and then the second ever sonic related game you play has sonic fucking die in the intro i didnt know it wasnt a kids game, i mean. i didnt have a case, or cover. it was a burnt disc. i literally couldnt.
@@Evan-ru6ro If it's your first time seeing the intro and you're not familiar with the game, you could be forgiven for thinking Shadow just killed Sonic.
Fucking same dude, this game was the greatest when I didn't know how bad it was lol. Have to say, if you don't pay much heed to the actual lyrics, the song is probably the only thing that holds up as decent once you can actually look at it objectively.
More like SEGA being too cowardly to go above that rating to avoid angry fanboys and parents wanting to butcher them every time they wanted to do something different
@@Cruddy129 Well frankly, the game itself sucks. That's the main issue. I love this theme song and I don't mind it being edgy, I've never seen anyone disagree. Really the only thing I'm aware of apart from the gameplay being terrible is the debate of whether firearms should be in the game
@@Thornskade In the hands of lore-sensible NPCs, like the GUN soldiers? Thats cosher and sensible, the real debate is if the main characters should be wielding them. Eggman might wield his absurd egg-themed guns, and his egg pawns obviously have them, and that one gray haired GUN officer would CERTAINLY have a gun, because the GUN organization is a MILITARY group, so it makes logical sense.
@@daytwentytwo OK but... Is literally any Sonic character written in a way that isn't a self parodying dipshit after 06 because Sega got scared of actually trying to write characters?
@@enzocold6611 Yeah i'm sick of SEGA making every character a goddamn joke, it works for Sonic Boom and that's it. Stop shoving it in our faces and try something new already.
@@JohnnyLouisXIX They won't. They're scared of failing again like 06 but riding out this idiotic "Haha look, we know this is dumb" schtick is only making the characters worse. They used to have character development, especially Shadow. 06 happens and now we're stuck with the writing we have now.
@@creeperspeed8 Dude, this isn't even from Sonic 06. Do you not know which game this is from? Besides, he's not taking about the games or wether they were good or bad, he's talking purely about the music. Sonic games almost always have great music, regardless of whether the game itself was trash.
@@PhantomGamZ And Shadow the Hedgehog was on GameCube, the Nintendo console. I just can't compute that, it's almost if Super Mario Galaxy had a Dreamcast port!
I just had a slight realization of this song, I used to think the one step forward two steps back line was more implying Shadows was making mistakes and etc, but I actually think now that its more referencing how each time he moves forward shadow also remembers and sees more and more of his past, one step forward = another step to the future and two steps back = another piece of the puzzle that is his past. The song was already a banger.
He needs someone with a low commanding voice. I would be stoked if he was voiced by Sam Witwer (Darth Maul and Starkiller) or J Michael Tatum (Scar from Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
@@alexiaNBC my picks? Josh Brolin or Keith David. Both of them are deep, commanding, and *REEK* with anger. If Josh Brolin can do Thanos and Keith David can do Spawn, either one of them can make Shadow work.
“Agent, I want an update.” “We’re still searching, sir. We’ve still found no sign of Robotnik.” “No one could’ve survived a crash like that. We’ll find his remains soon enough. He’s toast. Good riddance. God, what a mess that lunatic made.” “Sir, there’s…something else. While we were wiping Robotnik off our database, we found something: A file, buried deep in our system, dating back over 50 years.” “What is it…?” “Coordinates, sir.” “Coordinates…? To what…?” “A secret research facility. It used to be a Black Site, sir. Apparently, somebody worked very hard to keep this hidden.” “My God……Project Shadow…”
Next thing you know, Blizzard will release a new Legendary Skin for him that not only gives him the colours and markings of Shadow, but also changes his Ultimate Quote to: "Damn, DAMN, DAAAMN!!" xD
He was a good character in Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic 06 and Sonic and the Black Knight, almost every other game he appeared in his character got messed up and made him overly edgy. Lol.
@@Da-PaNtz-GuY I had problems even completing the first level and all my memories are blurred. However the save file already had some other stages and in my mind they kinda mashed together. The clearest of my "pretend memories" is that I'm standing on an overhang in Westopolis. On the side of that overhang are flashy arrows (the kind of arrows that tell you where to go where black and yellow arrows alternate in a loop slowly moving to the desired direction). Anyway I think that I also remembered that I didn't simply jump up to that overhang (which was pretty high up) but that the side of the skyscraper it was on had tiles on them that allowed for normal movement on walls like in the ruins in Sonic Adventure 1. There's probably more but the more I think about it the more I'm unsure if it is actually what I remember or if it is being changed by me trying to make sense of it.
Ha. I loved this song when I was in 4TH GRADE, although I couldn't play the game because the Gamecube stopped existing (I had my Shadow phase in 2012 lol). But a few years ago I found out about Dolphin Emulator and now play it there.
Shadow's backstory: I was created in a space colony as a science experiment to save a little girl I soon became best friends with. Later, because of a misunderstanding, she was murdered, and i escaped the colony without her, now, I barely remember anything but that event, I've forgotten the curiosity I've had for this planet I've only seen from afar, now I only feel bitterness for what the inhabitants did to my friend. The man who found me, years later, turned out to be my Creator's descendant, but villainous, with an objective to take over the world, i will team up with him to get my revenge... Infinite's backstory: i was playing with my friends one day, then Shadow came in, pushed me, and called me a poo poo head, so now im mad >:( then eggman came and gave me a rock he *(legit)* found on the ground, now i have sUPER POWER :O and im boarder line op if i knew how to use it better, instead of just...idk making walls that hurt...
Wysteria Reid It was established in the comics, yeah, but I hate that fans would have to do outside homework for a story that can’t stand alone in the video game. 😭
This theme is for: - People who eat cereal without the milk. - People who eat a whole bar of Hershey’s. - People who enter Walmart through the Exit. - People who eat the coffee beans straight. - People who eat the tea bag. - People who sting the bees.
That would go to SA1, SA2 or Generations for me. A lot of the Shadow game’s tracks just aren’t memorable to me outside of all the vocal tracks, Westopolis and MAYBE the menu theme.
