I am 81 years of age and live alone. I have paid into the system all my working life and have, like many, been struggling recently to lead a normal life without sacrifice. I object to the tax payer having to fund the accommodation with expenses for these illegal immigrants. (Currently estimated to be £8 million per day and escalating rapidly when you consider that 7,000 have crossed the Channel since Labour came to power). When will Common Sense prevail?
That's nice to make sure everybody's sheltered. As a general human right. But they are somehow getting hired despite having no permission. That has to stop.
Yes I knew they were not telling the truth! When they said we will not tax Working people! I thought that means they will have it in for us Pensioners, Elderly once voted in!!!! No where has Marxism, communism, , socialism worked e.g. Cuba, Venezuela. Never Will. I have never voted Labour. Never will!!!!
Literally nobody supports Starmer on any position in the political spectrum... It seems impossible that he's the PM. Equally as weird as Biden or Harris being legit candidates? People need to look into how these creatures REALLY got into positions of authority ...
@@lumpyfishgravy They're currently being bought off to lessen the expected public opposition to the most radical government this country's ever seen, but it won't last forever.
And the so called carbon footprint of Africans increases a hundred fold when they come to Europe. I wonder why environmentalists don't call for a halt to immigration from that part of the world?
@@New-ye2fl Not exactly if you understood. Next you have all the council elections which the Reform party will make a good impact. They have already won in Heaton, Derbyshire.
I voted for them and we owned your minor party. It was like Manchester City vs Rotherham United. You were Rotherham. I think you should stop crying and respect democracy you loser.
The uninvited guests who are now in accommodation provided by us, won't give 2 monkeys about energy price rises. They'll have the heating on full blast 24 hrs a day in the winter.
Let's fill the £20 billion black hole by giving public workers bumper pay rises at the expense of pensioners whilst in 2023, the UK government's foreign aid budget was £15.4 billion.
Reeves calls bullying the weak by stopping pensioners WFA a “difficult decision”. I expect keeping highly paid MPs £3,500 annual fuel allowance was an easy decision.
We are now going through possibly the worst political period in the history of British politics. Starmer and his government will be remembered as the most vicious, incompetent government the uk has ever known. To remove the pensioners winter fuel allowance is absolutely despicable and should be reversed immediately.
What, like the ones who continue to pay tax and the millions more thrust into the tax bracket six months ago? That, against people being housed, fed and heated because they got on a rubber dinghy in France. What purpose do they serve?
Pensioners - Grandparents - are an essential part of the support structure of families. "There is no such thing as society" - a quote that applies 200% to Globalists. MT's words go as follows: I think we have gone through a period when too many children and people have been given to understand “I have a problem, it is the Government's job to cope with it!” or “I have a problem, I will go and get a grant to cope with it!” “I am homeless, the Government must house me!” and so they are casting their problems on society and who is society? There is no such thing! There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first. It is our duty to look after ourselves and then also to help look after our neighbour and life is a reciprocal business and people have got the entitlements too much in mind without the obligations, because there is no such thing as an entitlement unless someone has first met an obligation.
You mean they had to remove the winter fuel payments to help pay for the enormous pay rises they have given to their friends in the unions. No chance of train drivers freezing this winter is there ?
The bus drivers and train drivers ( even though I know it's not all ) that are incredibly rude and disrespectful to their passengers, who arrive everywhere late because of their notoriously shoddy services. I have a train driver on my street and he has a massive house nicely done up,and he's the biggest prick on the whole street, thinks he owns the street and has the loudest most anti social family ever.
@richardgallagher4880 I have always been a strong brexiter and have always been for stopping illegal migrants and controlling legal immigration .Has for Boris I would prefer him a million times over starmer.
It's because Keir sees old people as a burden to society as they no longer pay into the system. He wants them to freeze to death so he has more money for other things
Don't forget Disabled,, vulnerable with complex needs and unpaid Carers. No social care, no support. They are also considered a drain on society regardless of the fact the many do, or will have also worked all their lives until stricken with serious illnesses. No one chooses to be disabled or vulnerable, however, the Government thinks otherwise.
Ed Milliband, is a muppet, always has been a muppet and always will be a muppet. That fits for the whole of Starmers cabinet, there isn't one that's worthy of the position they hold.
Funny how the price goes up just when you need the heating on. Price cap is also misleading as you pay for what you use. Stamer did keep mentioning no tax rises for working families he never mentioned anyone else
@taffyterrier Good. The oil and gas is still under the North Sea. Private companies are still queueing up to pump it out. You have no idea what you are talking about.
My standing charge adds up to £321 per year. There are 28 million households in the UK. That's 9 BILLION quid! There will be those who say this is the figure for maintenance. How would they know? The energy market is captive, a supplier's market. If they need a standing charge to balance the books, they're doing it wrong. Do supermarkets have a standing charge?
Almost a million fewer people voted Labour in the last election than in 2019. It's the Reform votes that have put Starmer in power. Sorry to say it, but that's the absolute truth.
It will be the start. Your fuel bills will reduce over the winter because we will have blackouts as we did in the 70’s. So it will be irrelevant wether they reintroduce the winter fuel grant.
It’s so wrong to screw the pensioners when these ministers claim up to 3,000 pounds for their heating, the bloody cheek of all them, they are not fit to run this country,
Why do we have to pay for government second houses plus expense accounts , surely they could cut down their expenses and pay their .own bills after all they are paid ,no one else is able to claim household expenses from place they work in ??
Energy price rises hit the pensioners more than a working family coz they are at home more.I suffer from chronic heart disease which affects my circulation and feel the cold,so we need warmth at home,we are paying £320 per month now,and I dread to think how we will be able to continue heating our home.To those who voted labour, thanks a lot.
Maybe us oldies should start our own protest group, there must be an angle that would get parliaments attention. The general public would applaud it for sure
One day people will realise that Gas and Electric were privatised so the Very Rich can make massive profits which most privatised companies do ! There is nothing wrong with a company make profits but can anyone tell us all when enough profit is reached its strange that no politicians talks about putting a CAP on Profits
Take away the Winter Fuel allowance and then put the fuel prices up when most people use it more.. So the Labour party are not for the people, only the Corporations and the "Rich". Governments are in it for themselves, not the people.
@taffyterrier Thatcher's privatisation programme was the best thing that could have been done. Privatising supply has nothing to do with the anti-oil and gas policies of more recent governments. Current government policy seems to be to shut down domestic production in favour of increased fuel imports. The North Sea is still packed full of oil and gas.
He will pay heavily, all those immigrants that are getting passes to remain, fed and watered will have got what they wanted that they will have no use for him because he wanted number 10 so badly he sold uk down the river, no life line for us uk citizens, but a grand reception for the boaties
They need to stop taking the payments themselves for the fuel to their multiple homes And maybe if the government weren’t getting paid the ridiculous amounts of money they get would make a huge difference to the country
The ageism against state pensioners is staggering. Labour always respected pensioners. Not now. Millions of public sector pensioners will especially be outraged.
They haven’t represented the working class for decades so this is no surprise whatsoever. All those who voted for them can just reap what they’ve shown. We tried to warn you.
Pensioners are frugal with their finances, my mother now won't turn on the central heating in the winter due to the cost. The Winter Fuel payment was about the only thing that would convince her it was ok to have the radiators on for a bit. Shame on Starmer.
The money they gain in taxing our new increased energy bills will come in handy for increasing the salaries of striking public sector workers. They must be lining-up for salary rises as we speak.
To the lady who said some people have private pensions I have a private pension I saved up in my private pension for my retirement knowing the state pension would not cover my old age I did with out things because I was thinking about my old age while the rest of you were out living it up and spending your cash not bothered about what happens when you get older
Her comment made me really angry. If people have worked and saved and choose to buy something that makes them happy, who is somebody else to tell them they don't really need it.....with an added sneer.
I come from a labour stronghold in South West Durham, they only got in by 1,500 votes but I can guarantee if we had a snap election today reform would walk it. I don't know anyone who admits voting for them round here. We all knew Starmer and labour would be bad but not in such a short space of time. 😢Totally inept they are.
There taking money from the old for heat bills but what about the MPs getting there heating allowance why are they getting it knowing the British people are paying the mortgage on second homes why can you talk about that
There is a strong rumour among military veterans that they may turn their backs on him at the cenotaph in peaceful protest, and it is gathering some momentum.
