Not sure what industry you've worked where it would be fine if your friend showed up uninvited and unannounced at your job and then interfered with work getting done. In the real world, your boss would see you as a potential problem employee who brings in trouble. You'd be lucky not to get fired. And this show is set in hell, so bosses are free do more than threaten unemployment. I mean, exactly what HR department or labor laws are going to stop them? Valentino is a known overlord and Charlie was born in hell. She had every reason to know that challenging his authority in his own business would just piss him off, and that it wouldn't be HER that he took his temper out on. Her naivete about her own home makes so little sense... I keep hoping there will be an in world explanation, but it's probably just a convenient plot device.

If you expected her to be anything else, you're watching the wrong show In this episode she was naive and overstepped, which she learned she needs to work on. But she is not to blame for how Val treats Angel. VAL IS. Placing the blame on Charlie instead of him is a really messed up thing to do Especially since, again, the whole setup of this episode is that Angel has been LYING to everyone about how amazing his job is, and Husk is the ONLY one who sees through it. Someone less naive than Charlie would have known going there was a dumb thing to do, sure, but acting like anyone in her situation should have magically known it would end in Angel being harmed the way he was?? That's some grade-A BS and you know it

I'd actually argue Vox is the stronger of the three, Val seems to contribute maybe about 35% of the total power difference as Vox is the only one that doesn't answer to the others and I can't see Val going toe to toe with Alastor and walking out alive.

I was under the impression that Vox is the bottom line business mindset, Velvette is the marketing, and Val is the production and recruitment.

Vox seems like the strongest of them. I doubt that he would have a problem making corn streaming service or taking a control over social media. He also seems powerful in terms of just raw power, as he went toe to toe with alastor even before upgrades (you can find a picture of him with old lamp tv head)

So, I have a slight meta concern about this episode and tell me if you think it's ridiculous or not. This episode involves some very serious topics, but I worry about the effect it has on people. Angel is showcasing how vile abuse and manipulation can be, both in a relationship and in this type of industry, but I also worry that this is heavily demonizing and already very demonized industry, that is not inherently corrupt. Sex workers are already so vilified, and I worry that this episode is just reinforcing that belief. It's good that it shows how bad the bad side can be, but I feel like the don't offer anything to show the good side.

@@Phatnaru0002 I don't think it's ridiculous. But I do believe this is bringing up an issue that is not explored in great detail due to how uncomfortable it makes people. It's kinda like the meat-packing industry back in the late 19th to early 20th century, the corruption is there and people know but they're afraid to acknowledge it. It's not a demonization of sex workers, it's pointing out the corruption of the management.

@@ForgottenHonor0 True, and that IS important. I guess I just wish they also just showed a little of the good side too. Maybe someone else in the industry that was good and cared about his autonomy, and opposed Valentino.

You're spot on, Charlie could fold Valentino like clean laundry, but Angel has a distorted view of their power. He always sees Charlie as little pretty princess who constantly shows weakness and is easily swept up by things, and he always sees Valentino throwing his weight around and on a personal note beating the brakes off him whenever he wants. In his mind, he can't picture Charlie standing a chance in that fight because he's never seen her actually show her strength before.

I saw somewhere that some moths have saliva that makes their prey easier to subdue! Probably why he licked Charlie before asking her to work for him, and it probably affects his abusive relationship with Angel

@@chicanimereacts I think they pull a bunch of tricks, like mirroring the video, color shifting, and messing with the audio. Though I have seen a couple that just fully put the entire episode up completely unaltered and it mystifies me too.

Powerwise, let's pretend the 3 V's are equal in demon power. Vox is in charge, indicated by his building/tower being taller, because he can and does manipulate Val and Velvet to get things his way whilst letting them think it was their idea.
