This is literally one of the best RU-vid video ever.. it makes me feel so emotional idk why ( mostly the guitar moment ) 💀💀 I’m very glad and soooo proud to be a Mariah Carey fan… This woman is incredible and extremely talented and I don’t think people realise this
Thank you so much. I've never seen this kind of video format before. This is my favourite song. There's legitimately magic in this song and of course what is magic but science? Thanks for showing the science. I also love when music nerds / hard core musicians appreciate Mariah Carey. Some incredible stuff was going on in the studio with afanasieff in the 90s. Very rad. Maybe do melt away?
It is very fun that every time you say that something doesn't matter is what the most matters to me hahaha I love to hear how things were really made. Very nice video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✨
I think most of the instruments Walter used in that era was from Korg keyboards, I use them too and can recognize some of them 😊 I'm a fan here! Big hug
You're correct that there was a cut there but they were both in chest voice. Mariah switches between registers frequently though - it's quite common for someone as agile as her.
There’s a full choir that is on the bridge that somehow was not here, but we all know it anyway lol. I am interested in having you analyze ‘when I saw you’ she somehow uses those vocal cut to make it have the illusion that she does not breathe at all for most of the entire chorus, and then from the end of the bridge to the end of the song, there’s no breaths. I always knew she was using studio magic, but I still tried to do it without breathing, and to this day, I can still do it along with her song, crybaby where she doesn’t breathe throughout the entire verses. But still, I think that song Crybaby uses cuts too lol.
@@alexanderjones451 this is the clearest version I can find and she does take breaths throughout the verses. I watch the video over and over analyzing when she breaths and she takes 9 breaths during the 1st verse and 5 in the second verse. She is also singing along to a track which makes it sound even more seamless but you can clearly see her take these breaths
Dann Huff was using a modified '63 Stratocaster done by James Tyler, going into a fridge-sized rack that held 3 key parts that gave him the '80s clean sound: a DBX 160x compressor, an Eventide H3000 (famous preset: MicroPitchShift) and a tri-chorus, then a TC 2290 for delay -- THE ULTIMATE CLEAN TONE
love ur video and thx a lot for it❤❤❤❤i believe all mc fans are looking forward the same theme video of“the roof”from her butterfly album eagerly😊😊it's one of the best song of her and also a fans fav❤❤hope u can do it
Wonderful to learn about how the gospel sound is created! I think the Mariah gospel choir track that comes in at bar 81 is missing from this file though.
Can you please do melt away by Mariah carey or bliss!! They are overlapped with lots of whistles or soft belts hehe thanks and love ur content a lot!!!!
Something was lost in the vocal part, I guess. At the bridge, when the vocals in har-1 and har-2 are playing, there should be another background vocal singing "Free to live. Free to laugh. Free to soar. Free to shine. Free to give. Free to love" and small ad-libs. You can hear them in the official album version of the song.
Hi friend. I have a suggestion If u want to be amazed, try katy Perry E.T. The instruments and sound effects are next level, weird and cool at the same time. I'm looking forward to it 💝
