This video takes you along with me for day one on the Everest Base Camp trek. This vlog includes the flight to Lukla and the trek from Lukla to Phakding.

I did it alone also, no need for a guide. I started in Jiri however, the original launchpad for treks to Everest. It adds 6 days to each end of the hike but worthwhile and a great way to acclimate. The hike from Jiri to Lukla was my favourite part as there were no crowds and great scenery. Your video and narration is spot on, like being back there. Thank you for the effort, it's a lot of work to make the video.

Whoa, wait, I was watching some Everest videos and saw the thumbnail of this video and immediately thought, "Cruise News!" I love the Travel Scouts channel. Even though I haven't been on a cruise since 2006, I watch partly out of curiosity but I also just enjoy your presentation style so I'm stoked to find this channel. Anyway, cool video -- I like that it's all sequential -- and I hope you shake that head cold soon!

In 2000 the Lukla runway was still gravel. The arrival isn’t as nerve wracking as the takeoff as you fly off a cliff.

Nepal has tried to ban treks without guides, but as there is no enforcement in place nobody cares. Besides Khumbu area local government, where EBC is located, flatly refuses to comply with this stupid "law". So people keep on trekking just like before.

awesome bro...Lukla is beautiful...i had been to lukla in August 2023.It was monsoon . Very few people around..lukla was almost empty....enjoy the hike!
