I worked in electronics. People were sometimes surprised that I did not have the power to order the CEO of SONY to make more transistors. They'd cry like little BEECHEEZ...like that would help.

Best quote ever "I am not ripping you off for 80 dollars" 😂😂 I did mobile repair for a minute and literally had to go to 4 local autozones b3cause they all said they had a new starter for a elantra and every location i went to literally did not have it on the shelf. The customer was cool but I spent 30 dollars in gas and all day doing a 200 dollar repair...

I went to autozone one time to order some valve springs. Told them i needed 16 total. Manager said ok each box comes with 4. Waited a few days for them to come in. Went in and she come out with 4 boxes with 1 spring in each. Immediately got my refund and ordered off rock auto

Totally agree, some of my past customers acted like it was my fault parts weren’t available. In reality I would prefer part was in stock so I’d get paid

To avoid all this bullshit, I just have my customers go and get their own shit. I point them in the correct direction of what they should be ordering, and when It arrives, I pull up and fix the problem.

Number 1 : Give your customer the name of the person you're dealing with and that person's phone number. Tell your customer to yell at him. Number 2 : Why are you buying parts from AutoZone? You're begging for problems when you buy from them. I wouldn't buy a sheet of stickers from AutoZone. Do yourself (and your customers) a favor. Buy your parts from O'Reilly's.

It couldn’t hurt on first contact with potential customer, to strongly advise them of parts availability and parts delays all of which are way above your rank and station in life . Especially if you are getting vibes from potential customer from the jump . Best regards

Hey Mobil mechanic. I hope you have a corporate discount.,& with delivery mishaps. I bring the old part, to where the place of purchase is,& even found the stock, was wrong.I had computerized stock. That I was able to alter. Like a HRR Chevy serpentine belt, that had six splines,& was able to shave that down to five. The tool, you can barrow, to advance the belt auto tightener.Doesn't work, unless you bend the bar stock tool,like a horseshoe,with an extra bend.After the job finished, i had to bend the tool back straight, to fit the plastic box, it came in.Lots a luck LOL. The internet fixers.Were improvising, & with the same method or tool part.Didn't help. From been there, done that,& I'm not an auto mechanic.10+ years HVAC.,& 4 years, a mil- brat. Dad was 20 yr USMC. I learned how to improvise.Happy travels.

There's plenty of other part stores. Auto zone doesn't get my service. On top of that, there is used part places to get him by until the new part comes in. Compromise and problem fix is how you get customers for life.

Some people just don't get it It's not your fault and it's not even the place that you ordered it from fault it's just the way the delivery goes it didn't get put on the truck it will be here tomorrow maybe 🤔. There is some people no matter what you do you can't make them happy, Just keep doing what you're doing. Hope everything is going well I haven't been watching RU-vid videos lately. @semperfimechanic I'd still say it's all up to whether the part available, I'll let you know as soon as I receive it or you can order it yourself, it is 2024 most people should be able to order what part is needed upon your recommendation. Just saying, love your shorts, salute your hard work!!!💪👊🫡

​@@gzarella2367 bro. Most mechanics won't warranty the parts if they're provided by the customer. Mechanics will guarantee their labor installing the part correctly. But if the part fails that's on you to get it warrantied. The mechanic will not help you take it out because they didn't install it wrong.
