WOw!!! I was a grandmas's girl and we use to sit around and sing together. My uncle would pull his guitar out and make us sing,those old school,good down home gospel songs are my favorite. The Canton spirituals,shirley caesar,Clark sisters, the truthettes,winans,williams brothers. I sang my 1st solo at my grandmas church when I was about 10 or 11 years old. I lost her years ago but it still feels like yesterday. You never recover from losing a person that has that kinda love for you. Those of you who still have your grandparents and parents cherish them and spend lots of time with them. I would give anything to be able to hug or talk to my mudea and daddy one more time.. I could sit for hours listening to her stories about the old days,slavery,segregation and all the other stuff she had to overcome. She worked at an all white university in Louisiana when blacks were not allowed to eat in the cafeteria and had to stay in back to work and eat out on the loading dock.Its grandmas,mudeas,big momas like these that made our generation so proud,strong and determined. You had to say yes maam,no sir,speak when you come into a home or business,open the door for a lady,help an elderly with grocery or across the street,no talking back ever,no disrepect,rolling eyes,popping lips and when company comes over all kids head to the room so grown folks can talk. Dont forget those crazy sayings and superstitions they had us believing and still do today. My grandma wouldn't let you do anything on Sunday,no washing,ironing or no electricity could be used,you could ,only cook. On Saturday we had to get up and clean and iron school clothes for the week. How many of yall had to sit in silence when it was thundering and lightning? No tv or radio cause God was doing his work.i use to think she was crazy. I had an aunt that put us outside all day because coming in the house or drinking from the water hose was running up her light billI,what the hell water got to do with lights? I have 2 I raised with the same values minus a few superstition and they turned out great. Let's bring those times back,i.miss so much.I know all you 70s babies out there know what I'm talking about. Hasan your granny reminds me a little of mine sitting on the couch or in her chair singing,keep watching over and spending time with her because they cherish that. You seem to me to be the granny favorite like I was,ain't that the grandest feeling!! Can yall do a version of walk around heaven all day please? Keep singing ms Martha and I will keep listening. I've watched a couple of video of you & gradma Martha. Being that my grandmother's name is Marth too.. all I can say is sang gradma sang, sang tell mrs.martha she welcomed to sing @ my church anytime. Be Blessed.

I was watching Tsoul and came across the video he did with you and I was moved by your voice. I had to check out more videos and just listening to you sing those good old church music has helped me. So thank you and keep doing what God has blessed you with to bless others like myself.
