They probably couldn't get the actress back or couldn't afford her. That said, she would've been an interesting character to get involved in the Voyager episodes where the Q had a civil war or where the one Q was on trial.

If you're really interested, she comes back in two Star Trek books: _The Eternal Tide_ _Star Trek: The Q Conflict_

@@danielblair4413 *Slay* Star Trek? Daniel, there is a difference between quantity and quality. STP just does not follow the same rules that Gene Roddenberry used in creating Star Trek, in the first place. Some people even say that it is _not_ actually true Star Trek, it is just a story series that takes place in the Star Trek World. I am not one of them, but I am wary of the whole genre jumping the shark. I think it is better to close the book, and conclude anything new being added to the body of work. Remember, there is a lot of Trek out there now, and it will be there for future generations to explore and enjoy. Wouldn't you rather those future fans experience the Best of what it is now, without having that quality watered down? I think Spock would point out something about Entropy, or the Natural cycle of life, or something like that. But, I don't know exactly what.

It was bitter sweet for him. Picard doesn't like the Q, and Q in particular, he makes that clear all throughout the franchise. He likely thinks that Amanda going to the continuum is a bad thing, and especially when they killed her parents. But on the other hand, she made the decision on her own while she was well-informed on everything regarding the situation. She chose to take responsibility despite what she may have wanted for herself. Truly a great TNG episode.

To be honest, I’m surprised they never started a Q episode with a main character on either TNG, DS9, or Voyager calling out for Q in desperation in an un-winnable situation and then dealing with his shenanigans as he gloats or tries to extract some form of payment for helping.

I find that when I make comments like this, I get defensive push back from rabid fans that believe the current crop of crap is actually good writing that and I'm just bitter and out of touch. As a writer, I disagree with that assessment.

People that lack the talent are hired to make such garbage (especially if they hate the source material), completely miss the mark, making their employers happy (until they check the revenue), then call their fans biggits after those fans call them out on their BS. Defo would of made sense, since Amanda was born from 2 Qs would mean that the Qs child in Voyager, wasnt Qs being first parent.

I think Ellen Ripley throughout the Alien trilogy is the best example of a strong female character. Rather than just a girl-boss, she can be scared, loving, kind and compassionate, and doesn't treat all men around her like idiots.

You surely get my point, though, that every other Q (I remember anyway) chose to present on Star Fleet ships wearing Star Fleet "uniforms" clearly more as a joke than any real regard -- well, except Quinn who desired to be an actual upstanding crewmate in the end.

I kinda liked that. If we can stop the pollution killing us all in a different way, thats better than making sure we don't drive our cars and stuff. However, as to your point, the "climate agenda" wasn't really a thing back when this was made. Your arguement is the same as trying to say Joan Of Arc was a lesbian.... Putting modern ideas on something older than that idea.

@@Diablo_Himself The "climate agenda" absolutely was a thing. In the 70s or so, there was fear of a global ice age. In the 80s-90s, it was global warming. Have you never heard of _Captain Planet and the Planeteers_ ? $;^ J After the 2000s, the back-and-forth got too nonsensical to label one direction or the other, and the panic started getting called "climate change." I'm all about some less pollution and energy conservation, but most widespread attempts are political and/or pointless. Don't dump your toxic waste into the river? Awesome, thanks! Battery-powered cars that feed off carbon-burned electricity anyway *and* whose toxic, unrecyclable batteries just get buried in landfills anyway? ::sigh:: Not helpful.
