Good morning! I didn't know who Stacey Abrams was until I just looked her up. 😄 Good or bad, I have no control over what advertisements are on the channel. RU-vid's/Google's ad system is built off of algorithms. The people buying the ad time pick the countries, states, days, times, and the age ranges they want to show ads to. They also provide the maximum they're willing to pay per ad. Sometimes the ad system will pair ads with people they think will enjoy the ad. I am not sure who wrote it or when it was written. All I know is that it is in an old song book and that it would have a lot of meaning to anyone that has lost their mother
@@markmartin3305 - When you find it in that song book again, let me know what it says. It's sometimes difficult to do copyrighted hymns (written 1925 and newer) which is why I ask. Any song book within the last 75 years can have copyrighted songs in it.

This is a rubbish song. It is sung by people who are already saved, so why sing "I will hasten to him"? This particular quartet has a very dull sound. The corny "music hall" lick at 0:26 is terrible. We used to sing this song in our Church, and my kids used to go "dah-de-da-da-da-da" at that point and everyone broke out laughing. Affer that, we abandoned the tune.
Is it *only* sung by people that are already saved? No. There are likely many in the congregation that sing it that are not yet saved. If your kids have little respect for a hymn or for worship, then that is their fault, not necessarily the hymn's. I appreciate your feedback on this "quartet". I'll be sure to let the rest of the "guys" know. 😉

Hi Tommy, Back in the 1800's people wrote hymns like this. Regarding the quartet, it sounds like one man is singing dubbed over his singing. I can attest to one thing - people who are already save need to hasten to him again and again. The world entices the Christian to go back to their old ways...all the more reason we need to return to Him and rest in His presence.
This is a rubbish complaint. Once you are saved, you are justified, but still sinning. We continue to be sanctified in our life and continually become more Christlike, but never sinless. So we must hasten to Christ to run from sin. You either run to Christ or to sin.
