Sixers are stuck in limbo, they have one of the best players in the league, that only averages 54 games a season. They won't naturally ever get a good draft pick and can't afford to bring enough help in for Embiid-less scenarios.. And I doubt they will trade Embiid, so this is basically the 76er's fate until he retires.
@@Moohoohaha If they don't resign the entire team, sure. They could sign a max player, bring in 8 minimum contract players and hope Embiid stay's healthy for a whole season... I'm sure they are going to offer Maxey a new contract this off season. Him and Embiid will account for 86m of 141m cap, plus 8m from Reed. Leaving 47m to build the rest of the team. Obviously they could get over the soft cap, by signing some players before others(and assuming they want to pay the luxury tax). Either way my point is, when you have 1 player taking up over 1/3 of your salary cap and isn't playing 1/3 of a season and potentially leaving your team stranded in the playoffs.. The team is doomed.
I did a knicks rebuild myself and traded randle and some other stuff for zion, resigned OG and IHart. Won a chip year 1. Do think they'll run it back but wanted to have some fun with it
2k really have to add stars demanding for trades if your team isn’t winning or making the playoffs it’s dumb that a team like the suns can be bad with devin booker for 4 years straight on 2k and his untouchable he would demand a trade
Yeah it's dumb. I always take control of a team that's doing bad and trade star players to a team that's actually in playoff contention. Makes no sense for Booker to be on the Suns for that long wasting his prime years when they never make the playoffs in the sim post 2024.

Dinvencinzo(sp) was killing us in game 7. They almost made it to the ECF without Randle and Mitchell, so the question is do they trade them or run it back?
Too many injuries to withstand, and they were always gonna take a toll eventually but we were right there. The season was fun and special. I think they will run it back. Can't see them moving Randle and replacing his production. We never got a look at the team fully healthy and I would like to see how Bojan looks with the full team before we think about moving him. I ran it back with the team and ended up winning it all in 2025. It was flipped for me as Hart was inefficient, and OG was the most efficient one so interesting how the roles were reversed in your rebuild lol. I agree about not extending Randle just yet. See if he can play at a high level in the playoffs and use that sample size to see if he's worth the investment in 2025 and beyond. We know he can be an All Star/All NBA talent in the regular season it's just the post-season he gotta prove it. Hope the Knicks draft two players that will be situational guys that can play when their number is called. Gotta keep the next man up mentality. Excited to see how the front office operates and what moves they make on the margins to improve the team. We'll definitely be back next year!!
When it comes to the bug that happens once you try simulating to your 2nd season of start today, I’ve been able to avoid it by just using the auto draft class feature, and it’s worked for me. I tried simulating with not doing that and it’s crashed on me. So it should work for you too.
Randle gotta go tbh. I know yall love him, but he's never here when you need him. He's either injured or diminished. Hopefully, you guys can run it back and have a healthy post-season.
In any big trade NYK is likely going to have to trade Randle. The issue like you said is he’s more valuable to NYK than other teams. His PO year is his age 31 season. I really have no idea how much his market will be. If Brunson takes less and takes that 4/156.xM extension that’d be 5/181.xM total, that’d be amazing for NYK and at that point there’s no way he could ask for more than Brunson. JB would be making almost 35M in 25-26. I think OG’s deal would be something like 5y/175M, maybe some incentives too I’m not sure. I’d expect it to be a 4+1. But that’d be just over 30M Y1 with 8% raises. So that’d be about 32.5M in 25-26 for OG. This assumes those figures, NYK gives IHart the max early bird rights, re-sign Sims for around the TMLE, and they keep two 1st round picks. 25-26: Brunson 35M OG 32.5M Randle 32.4M PO Hart 19.472M IHart 17.5M MitchRob 12.95M DDV 12M Sims 5.7M 1st rounder 4.5M Deuce 4.33M 1st rounder 3.5M That’d be about 180M with 11 guys. The 1st apron is proj at 196.5M. So they can trade Randle for a guy making a similar salary, and still have enough to use a big chunk of the MLE, then sign a couple minimum guys. Or sign two guys for 10-11M of the MLE, then a minimum guy and have plenty of space under the first apron. If they keep Randle, I assume he’d opt out of his 32.4M PO in order to sign for less $ that year, but to get more years. Maybe like 26M/28M/30M/31M for 4/115 and about 3/85M in new gtd money (like 2.3M of the 32:4M are incentives) for his age 31-34 seasons. That’d give NYK the full MLE, the BAE, and a minimum. It’d be really hard to keep Randle while adding someone and not being deep in to the tax unless it’s just like a MLE type player. If they want to move for someone making like 18-20% of the cap, it likely has to be Randle to a 3rd team plus picks, with the 3rd team giving the team the player is coming from more picks and/or a young guy. The issue is Randle is older and he’s not just plug and play, so he’d have less suitors than someone who may be a worse player that’s an easier fit on contenders and solid teams. If Brunson does take that extension this summer, that’s amazing for NYK though. They should be willing to give him whatever he wants to sign that deal. Offer it like…now. Offer max trade kicker, player option, and even that payment structure where he gets like 50% of his yearly salary by Oct 1st or w/e it is. Him taking that would just open up so much flexibility for the Knicks, and it’d allow them to really upgrade this team as much as possible. We’ll see if he takes it or not, and I’m curious how they decide on Randle. I dislike BI’s fit in NYK, he likes to operate in a lot of the same areas as Brunson, he likes to have the ball, and while he’s a better shooter than Randle, he’s no doubt gonna want a monster extension. I think adding a Mikal Bridges (as unlikely as that may be) or even a Trey Murphy if we’re talking NOP would be better targets. I really like the Jerami Grant fit in NYK, but he’s just making too much $ for too long. If his deal was like 4/112 or something instead of 5/160 I’d like it. GL next year NYK.
I think in certain circumstances they should be used but definitely not all the time. I front loaded a contract a few times on like an aging player or a young player who hasn't showed much improvement. Besides that it's always back loaded or bird +8%
What if after the season you try to go 82-0 with a dream team. Each position is the greatest to do what that position is supposed to do, example being Stockton as a PG, since a pg is supposed to get assists well

You should do rebuild challenges trying to follow styles of different people. For example, a rebuild of coaching like thibs, giving your starting 5 40+ minutes, or a rebuild of being masai ujiri, where you HAVE to win every trade, or a lebron rebuild, where the moment something doesn’t work at the trade deadline, you trade everything. I think this would be really fun😂😂
I'm on PS5 and he's a consistent 13-15ppg scorer for me with subpar efficiency. Free throws are always in the mid 60% for some reason tho. Everything else I usually live with since he's one of the better defenders you can have on your team.
They had DSJ as their starting 1 coming off a good rooky year when Trae was in the draft. They wouldn't have kept Trae and traded DSJ that summer no matter what!
Brunson just isn't a 1A guy and I'll die on that hill. He just isn't. He's an Iverson - an amazing player truly but can't win a ring with him as your best guy. And the Knicks have no way of getting 1A

Horrendous take. Brunson proved he's a 1A. Who else was there for him to shoulder the scoring load besides him? He literally had to carry the team on his back and he pretty much did as they were one game away from the ECF. Knicks were so banged up and took the Pacers 7 games to close us out when their team was more healthy than ours. Knicks are in prime position to improve the team on the margins or be aggressive when the next star wants out. Miss me with they have no way of getting a 1A talk.
