Man you should do Weatherman by Hank Williams Jr. I looked for a reaction video to that song and don't believe anyone has done one for it yet. I just left a memorial service for a friend's dad who was a great guy and listened to your reaction to Lead Me home by Jaime Johnson and I think you'd really enjoy Weatherman as well.
Bass- Check out D-Low (Champion Beatboxer). Lots of videos with various types of vocal bass.. so much to unbox there and an amazing talent and variety of videos to cover
That's no harmonica, that my friend is pure Adam Rupp. If you look at older videos you'll see another guy named Chris Rupp, Adam's brother, they started Home Free about 17 years ago. The guy in the back of this video is new as of 2006 I think. That's Adam Chance, goes by Chance replaced Chris. He's a baritone with an amazing bass as well. Tim Foust, the bass has an incredible 5 octave range and can go low to high and will make your ears go what was that??? Austin the high tenor is incredible and Rob, tenor , is so smooth. They are incredible.
Adam Rupp is the “Harmonica” player… I think he’s a robot. There are a couple of videos of him playing the drums (without a drum kit) amazing. Tim Foust is the base singer, he’s at least part Dragon. There are a couple of clips in live performances where he blows the subwoofer in the speaker. I call it the reverse of the Opera Singer shattering the wine glass, He does a duet with Peter Hollens singing “Misty Mountain” the song from the Hobbit Movies well worth your time. The rest of the group are just as ridiculously talented. “How Great Thou Art” will bring tears to your eyes even if you’ve never set foot in a church. My personal favorite (aside of Man of Constant Sorrow) is “Seven Bridges Road”. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole.
@@eddiewilkinson9794 You forgot the exclamation point! 😁 It's nice to be recognized once in a while, given all the time I spent studying and practicing the teachings from the Hong Kong Book of Kung Fu... and, of course, fighting crime. Anyway, I'm off. Gotta get this filing cabinet fixed. It won't open, so I can't get in to change clothes. Got stuck again last week and the cat had to get me out. He's been giving me crap ever since, the bastard. Best regards from your friendly neighborhood canine superhero (and #1 Super Guy), HKP 🐾 _Woof!_
If you like good bass singers, check out The Statler Brothers and The Oak Ridge Boys. In fact, Home Free sings with The Oak Ridge Boys in a remake of “Elvira”.
Also try The Inspirations. Even if one isn't religious or Christian, the harmony is awesome and the bass singer is always top notch. There have been several generations of the group, but they're always GREAT.
Tim Foust - Low Bass Adam "Chance" - Baritone "Adam" Rupp - Beatboxer Austin Brown -Tenor: Rob Lundquist - Tenor (Overalls) Homefries (Their fanclub) like to say they have 5 Tenors, 5 Beatboxers and 2 Basses (but that might be selling Adam Rupp short). If your impressed by Tim Foust now wait until you actually hear him actually go low and then sing Tenor. He has a five octave range and it's incredible how clean he is up high.
I agree with all the prior recommendations and add: When a Man Loves a Woman Country Fried Pop Medley Fulsome Prison Blues Ring of Fire How Great Thou Art Gambler I could go on and on. Just don't watch Mayday until you are able to Identify each member and their range.
Van, Van, Van! You have entered a brave new world! HOME FREE! You have just touched on the surface. Surprisingly the bass Tim Foust besides being super funny, has a 5+ octave range. And then there are Pentatonix and Voice Play. Start reacting to these three and as they say, they will come! Subscribers, we follow our guys and gal -- Home Fries and Pentaholics! We always have room for another member 😉❤
Tim is the bass, Chance is baritone but also sings bass. The jaw harp at the beginning was Chance. Adam is the beat boxer, he’s also the harmonica. He carries the entire band in his throat. They all chip in beating the box when necessary. Austin is high tenor, Rob’s low tenor. They are all perfect.
No harmonica there. He’s amazing with the sounds he can make. The whole group is astonishingly great! So glad you did this! Pleas check out their cover of “When a Man Loves a Woman”. It’s life altering 😂🌺✌️You probably won’t see this because you already “hearted” my comment but I watched this a second time and you asked about other bass singers. There’s a country singer named Josh Turner who has a really deep voice you would like.
Another really good base, Geoff Castellucci (He normally sings with a group called Voice Play) look for his cover of "16 tons" or "Bare Necessities". Voice Play does a cover of "Oggie Boogie Song" where the base sings more of a lead.
Came here to plug Geoff. While I think Home Free is a better group than Voice Play, Geoff Castellucci is better Base. On top of his version of ‘16 tons’ I would also add his rendition of ‘Blackbird’.
@@Billsork I prefer Home Free over Voice Play too. Weren't they on the same season of Sing-Off? If so, America agrees too! Tim and Geoff both have awesome personalities and fantastic voices. I have never seen a video with Tim harmonizing with himself which Geoff literally kills! And they are both easy on the eye!
They covered Boyz II Men end of the road. You have to check it out. You have to. They did it justice. I know it’s scary to listen to someone redoing a classic but they did it justice
He even mentioned Boyz II Men when comparing bass singers. So yeah, End of the Road is a must. But should it be next? Or should he explore the rabbit hole a little more and get true appreciation before jumping in to this end of the pool?
I LOVE that you're wearing your daughter's creations!!! Way to go, DAD!!! As far as I can tell, the one guy makes instrument sounds with his mouth and hands.
Watch everything from them. It's literally all fantastic. If you're looking for some other deep bass singers, definitely Geoff Castelluci from Voice Play and Avi Kaplan formerly of Pentatonix. Both are amazing.
He is not using a Harmonica. He is making that sound with his voice. The group is great. They have other songs that are good too. If you want to hear a really good song that means a lot to me as a Veteran who has lost 7 brothers this year alone, one that was my High School friend and fellow Marine. Listen to Burden by Foy Vance.
@@m.c.1933 Thank you, I appreciate it. We fight the devil every day. However a Marine will always win the war. I'd do it all over again in a minute. FOR THOSE THAT HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED FOR IT, FREEDOM HAS A TASTE THAT THE PROTECTED WILL NEVER KNOW. It's people like you that make it worth it. Semper Fi.
I found these guys last year. This was the first song I ever heard from them & I was instantly hooked & became a homefry. The talent of these 5 men is insane. Together they are a perfect fit & complement each other so well. Tim Foust is the best bass singer in the business & Adam Rupp their beatboxer extraordinaire can make any sounds & is in a class by himself.
Acapella amazing. Home Free, Voice Play, Pentatonix. ...the trifecta of acapella. Each has their individual lane. Their beatbox/harmonica is Adam Rupp...sounds like he swallowed a drum kit. Tim Faust is their main bass. He has some solo stuff that is crazy good. Geoff Castelucci is the bass for Voice Play. Check out his version of House Of The Rising Sun. So good.
You never go wrong with a Home Free song, they are incredible talented. Tim Foust, bass 5+ octave range. He has "Storytime with Tim" on their liveshows, that are hillarious funny. Chris Rupp, baritone, founder off the group. Not in this video, but in 2016 and older ones, always has a cap ore a cowboyhat on. (Adam) Chance, baritone/ bass with a silky smooth voice. He's the one in the white cowboyhat, making the jaw harp sound, in the beginning and end, and was handpicked to follow Chris, when he left. Rob Lundqvist, tenor, big beard and glases and are the big jokester (along with Tim) in the group. Austin Brown, high tenor, lead singer here. Incredible voice, and can match female singers on key, and has done both in the song "Crazy" and "At last". Adam Rupp, freak off nature, the human drum kit aso. He's a extremly talented percussionist, 20+ years experience and two championships under his belt. And to boot, an angelic tenor voice (listen to "How great thou art" to hear him sing). All in all, they are one off a kind, in the best of ways.
Oh you've done it now! This is one of the biggest rabbit holes you've entered. Tim Foust (bass) has an outrageous vocal range, Adam Rupp is THE best beat boxer, Austin Brown (first lead singer) has a beautiful voice, Rob Lundquist (second lead) has such a soulful voice, and Adam Chance (black hat) is another bass with a beautiful voice. Several sings to consider are Mayday (Tim stretches his vocal range a bit), Helplessly Hoping (outrageous harmony), or Brothers in Arms, and many, many more. Thank you for your reaction to my fave group💖
1st of all, the headband and bracelet are fire. And God bless you for the love you give for them. 2nd and last, this is a rabbit hole you need to go down, homefree is exceptional..
YES I love Home Free! Their harmonies in Seven Bridges Road are A++ (though the harmonies in the original by Eagles are bomb too), and you should definitely watch their video for Elvira because it has them singing it with the song's original singers. It was sort of like the classics welcoming the newbies.
Major Home Fry here! So glad you jumped down this rabbit hole. You'll love exploring their catalogue. Sit back and be ready to be amazed! And, if you want to check out a talented bass - check out Clap It Up Dan.
home free rabbit hole. this became my favorite band over hte last year for a reason. you want something more poppy, look up "honey, i'm good." or "mayday". if you want more country, anything they're a country band. My favorite is their gospel style music like "go rest high on the mountain" and "how great thou art". They have a christmas album too which is good. oh OH "Butts Remix" if you want a humorous mashup of various songs about butts.
I'm so glad you got home free on there. They are so talented and great at what they do. The next songs you slouched out are the cover of end of the road and when a man loves a woman......promise you will not be disappointed 😁
"I've never heard a bass like this before..." Oh boy, Geoff Castellucci would blow your mind...Sixteen Tons, House of the Rising Sun, Monster Mash, Oogie Boogie's Song, Pirates of the Caribbean, any of these covers he's done/involved with are absolutely worth a listen if you want a great bass singer. Don't get me wrong, Tim Foust (the bass in this video) is an excellent singer, and his cover of Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens was really good...but Geoff's just in another league.
Home Free is the real deal. They’re a cappella so no instruments. That’s Adam, the beatboxer, doing the drums, harmonica and other noises with his mouth. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can go super low but also sing up in the tenor range. They can all sing and all take the lead depending on the song. You can watch Adam Rupp Drum Solo on RU-vid to see him do drums with his mouth…incredible. This song was made popular in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou but was made 100 years ago. Try End of the Road, Brothers in Arms, Butts Medley (their silly side). They are known for their great harmonies. Good reaction LFR!
This is Bluegrass, a traditional folk genre from the mountains. The song is so old nobody really knows it's origin. It was PUBLISHED in 1913. Yes, published...as sheet music, which was pretty much the only way music got out to the public back then. The version heard in the movie was done by the Stanley Brothers, famous for Bluegrass music. Home Free's fanbase are known as Home Fries and I'm definitely one. Try their cover of Boyz 2 Men's "End of the Road" to see the versatility of these guys. A little nearer Christmas, you NEED to hear their arrangement of "Do You Hear What I Hear?". Absolutely amazing.
Since you mentioned Boyz 2 Men you should 100% react to Home Free's cover of "End of the Road". You'll be happy you did! Also check any Pentatonix for some of the same type of sounds.
You are right! They have been singing together for a long time & there is a deep rabbit hole to explore. Over 100 songs to check out & "Mostly" no copyright worries! Enjoyed the breakdown/reaction!
We call it a no-monica 😁 These guys are legit and the best harmonizers around. They are all incredibly skilled at their trades individually as well as together and their talents keep blowing us Home Fries, their fans, away. We are constantly pleasantly surprised by them, their music and their videos. On top of that they are genuinely kind and caring human beings who use their platform to spread a message of love, acceptance and peace. New subscriber here, ready to go down the Home Free rabbit hole with you. And I promise you that they will keep putting you in a started off awe. Thanks for the reaction! 🥰🙏
Oh man, really hope you get into some Pentatonix now Van! Try Pentatonix - Come All Ye Faithful It’ll get you into the Christmas spirit and into the greatest acapella group of all time!
If you are impressed with Tim's bass on this one I highly recommend you check out their Brothers In Arms cover they released recently. Tim and Chance take the lead it's a bass fest!
Home Free is incredible and every singer could have their own solo career, but together, their magic. To hear a solo from each, I recommend "End of the Road" featuring Rob Lundquist, "When A Man Loves A Woman" featuring Austin Brown, "Brothers In Arms" Tim Foust & Adam Chance, "Mayday" group harmonies, and lastly to totally blow your mind the "human freak of nature" aka Adam Rupp (beatboxer/vocal percussionist) gives a drum solo that will blow your mind. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EanKWLUaDpg.html Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole.
All of the youtube reactors (to this cover) that I've seen are impressed, deservedly, with Tim's low register when he sings the lead. But only a few seem to notice that he drops down an octave (or so) in the chorus that follows. So when the reactors are commenting on Tim's low register, I find myself talking to them, saying, "Wait for it ...", referring to his imminant octave drop. Sadly, the reactors who were so impressed with Tim's voice when he sang the lead either didn't think the octave drop was worth a comment, or worse, they missed it entirely.
The bass. When I was little (raised in mostly country), the bass was in the Oak Ridge Boys and The Statler Brothers. They were harmony type groups but did have a band backing them. Momma’s name was Elvira (shirt ‘I’) and had her name mispronounced constantly so that song from The Oak Ridge Boys ‘Elvira’ (long ‘I’) came in it was a three minute party in the car.
Hey Van. These guys are unbelievable. Every sound they make. There are vids on RU-vid of Adam their beatboxer doing 7 or 8 mins all on his own just doing sounds and drums. Look up Adam Rupp drum solo and you will have several to choose from and it's live!!! The last guy you see in the vid is their newest member Adam Chance. He was doing the "Jews Harp" sound and he is a baritone who was the bass singer for his last group. Their is another great bass singer named Avi Kaplan who used to be with a group named pentatonix. These guys do a cover of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire with Avi joining them as a guest. The very last note of that vid is actually Tim (the bass you heard here) I promise you have never heard a lower note. So check out their vid of ring of fire and also Go Rest High on that Mountain and How Great Thou Art and a million more. They also do some originals and touch on all genres with their covers. Great group.
When I was a little girl my dad listened to a country - gospel group called The Statler brothers. I think it will be just what you are looking for. God bless.
Thank you for introducing me to a new group that I've never heard of but will be listening to a lot more that's why I love your reactions and totally love you
Van it will be a dope ride if you’re getting up on that HomeFree train. I love these dudes. And the “Home fries” (their fans lol) will come out from all over the planet🌏 to support your channel if you keep on their catalog awhile.💙 I highly recommend: • “The Butts Medley” • “End of the Road” • “Ring of Fire” (video version with Avi Kaplan and their live version from The Sing-Off show) •”Adam Rupp drum solo (live)” (amazing omg) •”How Great Thou Art” the most glorious version of that hymn 🌤 your Christian soul will ever have the joy of hearing. Trust me on this one friend! I got you on the set of songs that will give you all you need to become a big ol Home Fry yourself! They will have you saying “that’s nice! That’s nice!” Alllllll day brother.
The song itself (also known as "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow") was originally written in 1913 by Dick Burnett and recorded by Emry Arthur in 1928. Several versions of the song by Bob Dylan, by Joan Baez, by Barbara Dane, by Judy Collins, by Peter, Paul and Mary. It regained popularity after being featured in the 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou? staring George Clooney.
love Home Free!! no instruments all vocals....you should check out When a Man Loves a Woman and Boys to Men cover of End of the Road....they have soooo many great songs...welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free!
This is from Wikipedia..The first commercially released record was by Emry Arthur, on January 18, 1928. He sang it while playing his guitar and accompanied by banjoist Dock Boggs. The record was released by Vocalion Records (Vo 5208) and sold well, and he recorded it again in 1931.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! You may be impressed with their cover of End of the road. For laughs, react to and older video (with a former band member, Chris Ruff instead of Adam Chance) “ Butts medley”. It will make your day! Please do mor Home Free!
