✅ Welcome to the official RU-vid channel of Quitting Together, a place dedicated to those of us on a journey to recovery, especially from marijuana addiction.
This channel is not about demonizing marijuana; in fact, I acknowledge and support the right to choose. Marijuana can have positive impacts, as it did in my life for a long time. But, like many, I reached a point where it started to take more than it gave. If you find yourself in a similar situation, where marijuana has begun to overshadow other aspects of your life, I invite you to join me on this path to recovery.
➡️ Here, you'll find content that tracks my personal journey from day one of sobriety. This channel aims to provide a supportive community for those who are looking to break free from what is often considered a "non-addictive" substance, yet find it challenging to let go of. Each video is a step in the ongoing process of overcoming addiction and rediscovering the joys of a life not dependent on marijuana.
Whether you're newly sober, considering sobriety, or have been on this path for a while, there's something here for you. I share not only my experiences and challenges but also invite guests to discuss various aspects of addiction, recovery, and mental health. From professional insights to personal stories, each video is an opportunity to learn, grow, and find support.
🎬 Subscribe and never miss a video. Hit the bell (🔔) for notifications on new uploads as we embark on this journey together. This is a safe space for healing, learning, and growing. Let's navigate the path of recovery as a united community.

Hey Aaron, Welcome back man, I've been waiting for you to post again. It takes a lot of courage to be this honest and open about your struggles. It's inspiring to see you holding yourself accountable and recommitting. Relapses are a normal part of the recovery process, and what matters most is that you're picking yourself back up. Considering a counselor could be a fantastic step! You may get some tools that will not only help you continue your journey but also share them with everyone here who has become part of it. A small update on my journey, I complete 1 year sober from alcohol today and haven't smoked since February. I respect your honesty and we're all cheering for you. Keep making these videos!

That’s amazing! How do you feel without any of those vices? I have had a counselor before, and there have been pros and cons. A great counselor can change someone’s life and a not so great counselor may be incredibly depressed and much worse. I have a support system and a close friend who is holding me accountable and we’re gonna see how this goes. I’ve asked him to drug test me 40 days from now so it gives me something toHelp hold me accountable. I really appreciate your comment and I’m so proud of you for making it as long as you have already! I can’t wait to be there in the future

Feel pretty good and don’t really miss them. They have deemed to be unnecessary. Lost all my beer belly lol. I do find it difficult at times to deal with emotions that i was suppressing but navigating through it. Thats very true, finding a good counselor requires some shuffling around but i am very glad you have a healthy support system. Hah, that’s awesome! You should probably make a video of that test!

@@ThermoGenussWelt after the 3rd month, i began to feel really good about the decision. The clarity started to be noticeable. Lost a lot of water weight. I used to drink almost everyday. Wouldn’t say i was a morning drinker but on most weekends, yes! Would binge drink a lot.

I have slipped up also and I don't care anymore. I enjoy marijuana and that is it. I don't drink or have any other vices so I'm not worrying about it anymore. I can't sleep without it, the nightmares never stopped and I missed that smoking time with my partner. We love it and I'm sorry that I quit. ❤ Rooting for your recovery.

Well, I’m proud of your honesty and being open! Ultimately, you only know what is best for you, but remember there’s a reason you wanted to quit in the first place. And while it might feel way better now, it always does in the beginning, who knows what the long-term payoff will be. Please keep checking in and keep me updated and whenever you’re ready to quit in the future, I’ll be here!

Today marks 36 days of sobriety, I feel incredibly good. After many attempts to quit, this is the first time I have gone without withdrawal symptoms... The only difference this time compared to the other times I tried to quit is that I gave my life to Christ and then, everything changed. Much success, brother... Jesus loves you and is waiting for you to call on Him and ask for help. Blessings.

It’s really great that you even mentioned that. My studio is actually inside a church of which I am the creative Director! The more time I spend here and in this community, the easier it all is for me. We actually have a really big recovery program that meets here, although I am not a part of it. Thanks so much for your comment and your encouragement and I’m really glad to see how well you are doing! Please keep checking in and let me know how your progress goes!

I appreciate the honesty brother. Im also struggling to quit and holding on because I love the feeling. I know its all an illusion and I would actually feel way better if I stopped. The issue here is I still see cannabis as pleasure and not pain. Only when I can identify cannabis as pain, and not something enjoyable, is when I can truly quit. Thank you for inspiring me!

Yeah, man. It’s interesting because it is something that is temporarily enjoyable but long-term is causing pain. Like so many other voices in our life.

Hey Aaron, I relapsed several times too. I see a drug counsellor now. Seeing your videos helps me too. Always glad to see your videos! I also am an enabler for smoking to my friends. I know how you feel. For me it's my need to have social connections. A suppose you look up the concept of psychological base needs after grawe. This helps me to understand my addiction a lot.

@@Quittingtogether I think it helps. I saw him a few years back when my parents wanted to stage weed as the problem of their failed family. He knows my trauma, spoke to my parents and saw why I was/am neglected. In terms of accountability it is a step forward. I see him for 3 weeks once a week now. Today was hard but knowing I'm going to see him tomorrow helps staying clean.

You’re not stupid. Please don’t phrase or talk about yourself or to yourself that way. It’s an incantation and the tongue can destroy lives. Be kind to yourself. “It consumes my life” NO NO NO. Stop. Take responsibility, be kind to yourself, the weed isn’t the problem it’s just a symptom. Heal inside. Day to day living is mandatory for the rest of your life.

No one that smokes weed every day understands how addicted they are until they try to quit. It’s very fascinating because I can count on one hand the amount of people I know that only smoke every once in a while. Everyone I know that smokes weed does so pretty much every day. That goes to show how addictive it is.

When I sang in a band I would bring a music stand up there and chart out the verses and choruses and counts, if I ever wanted to glance at it to make it easier to remember the songs and not be as nerve-wracking, so I could really focus the energy on performing well and not remembering everything. It was for School of Rock so we didn't get a chance to really get the songs performed over and over but if I perform either way I like to have a music stand with the songs charted out and I don't care what anyone says or thinks it looks pro on my book

u can also buy some mushrooms before eating them make a note what u want the trip to due, on that note write help me quit and then just be with yourself go with the darkest deamon in the trip and see what it wanna tell u, take the hand of whatever going to happen and enjoy the ride, of course take your caussions but shrooms can also kill and addiction if u use them as a tool,

@@Quittingtogether so nice we are starting a conversation about it, i am sober alcoholic on 4 year due to aa, u can call me cross adict because also weed and other drugs, then i shoulkd just try weed and then i have been active and non active and more active on the weed, then i did hypnosis more hypnosis and more hypnosis and instead of 15 spliffs i am on 3 and the mindset is easier to let it more go, but still saying to my self. dont fight it be gentle, and it is backrolls and there is 7000 chemicals in tobacco so of course it is getting more interest to quit,,, but the brain can be reprogrammed, never go cold turkey, just less and then the vitamins and minerals is also a huge helper, were in the world are u ?
