After their 30-year wait, 28 years after losing to the Avalanche in 4 games, and a year after losing to the Golden Knights in 5 games, the Panthers thwarted the Oilers’ attempt to complete a reverse sweep and won their 1st Stanley Cup in franchise history. Connor McDavid of the Oilers won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the 2024 Stanley Cup playoff MVP after leading the playoffs with 42 points (8 goals, 34 assists) and become the 1st player on a losing team to win it since Jean-Sebastien Giguere of the then-Mighty Ducks in 2003.

What do you mean coping? As an Oilers fan, congrats to Florida. They played really well and deserved this game more, they started better and their goalie was simply better. Oilers didnt connect when they had to, and thats all there is to it! No ifs and buts! For every master, there is a master. Simply, the Oilers lost, even that happens. So congratulations to the Florida Panthers. Both teams gave an amazing fight, as an Oilers fan, I am of course upset and saddened by it, but the Panthers deserve it! I am excited for next year and hope we can follow in the Panthers footsteps and win after losing the cup like they did!

Its really hard to beat a team four straight in pro sports. Florida couldn't do it. Neither could Edmonton. Great defensive effort by Florida. And nice win!

Great finals and great game 7. Congratz to Florida, they earn it. They was more as Family and won as a team. McDavid earned Conn Smythe, because he was best player of playoffs and Edmonton come's stronger next year. They did take one step back to take two step forwards. One of best seasons in history of NHL.

It's okay man. My hot take is Conner will NEVER win a cup. He was close to proving me wrong but, almost dosent count. The last seconds kinda just cements my perdicition. Conner isn't in that battle and he kinda just thinking scoring goals. He seems like he is too politically correct and doesn't really play with emotions rather then an ego. My last observation is that ya man can put up points and whatnot and we can watch highlight reels of him all day long, but being a leader... I don't see him as captain material. My early 10 hot takes for next season 1. Marner gets traded 2. Laine gets traded 3. Couturier Traded 4. Ott Makes playoffs finally 5. Montour will be paid over 7mil(no flordia) 6. Pesce to Leafs 7. Yezermen fired as GM (no playoffs) 8. Tortz fired after he yells and screams in some players ear possibly the backup goalie 9. I have a feeling Jack Hughes will have a monster season next year. 10. The grand daddy here... I actually had Pit>Edm preseason and then CarNJ I think Dallas is right their... Miro just needs to play on his left side and Marty Turco needs to help pit Jake... Yup panthers built a playoff team. Built on diving, embellishing, cheap shots .... everything that's penalized for during the regular season , but they know the rules are pushed aside during playoffs. All this so they can sell the product called hockey to markets that won't survive unless they win!
