To join my Minecraft server, head to my Twitch channel and type !server for the login information. You must be subscribed on Twitch to join, and have a Discord account. This is so we can moderate and manage the server due to demand. The server is open 24/7 and has a survival world, as well as a museum of every past build we've done on the channel.
New Earth Build Rules:
-No obnoxious floating text. No obnoxiously tall buildings.
-Respect the coastline and borders. Islands, continents and countries should retain their shape.
-Build the best you can. Low effort and unfinished constructions will be removed.
-Your building cannot just be a flag.
-No contemporary politics.
-No depictions of war, recent mass tragedy, racism or discrimination or hate symbols of any kind.
-Railways must be at ground level. Railways in the air are considered low effort and too tall. We recommend an underground metro instead.
-No pixel art. We find that this obscures other builds, and we plan to provide a space later.
~~~~~~~~Extra Things~~~~~~~~
Everything you see in my videos is edited livestream highlights taken from my Twitch channel. My schedule is Tuesday & Thursday @ 7pm, Saturday & Sunday @ 3pm - all times based in Ireland.
This was honestly one of my favourite build sites to date, so much culture and history. It was a struggle to fit everything into the highlights alone and I'd recommend watching the full stream for this one. Thank you to everyone who took part in the build! If you'd like to join these builds, the login info you need is in the description of the video. The next build site is India!
I always love these videos, and you did a great job presenting as usual. I did feel like there was less memery showcased in this video, and I can't know as to whether that was because the build happened to have far less of Sans/Waluigi/Flesh-Interior or if you just chose not to show it, but I think these types of Minecraft World Build videos do well by having the balance of past culture and pop culture both. I don't mean to tease you or make you feel self-conscious about your pronunciation, but in the process of trying out the new and unfamiliar words that you run across, I'd suggest you just take the 30 seconds to google-search or crowd-source-from-chat a more accurate way to pronounce it. There's no shame in lacking knowledge, and I think both you and your viewers benefit from learning it.
As someone from the Middle-East, I hope your moderators are doing ok because this probably had at least some hiccups here and there considering the... location. Edit: Greetings from Lebanon btw, watched the vid, really liked the builds and the respect the players showed for everything in general. The bit about the olives made me a bit emotional since my family on the paternal side used to be small farmers and artisans in Yafa, the soap industry there especially was famous all throughout the Middle-East, but they had to run away in the 30's due the the general unrest and troubles with the British.
The significance of the Olive in Christianity (and Judaism for the Hebrew Scriptures) first started with Genesis 8:11. During the story of Noah's Ark, Noah was trying to find land after the flood. He kept sending out a dove to bring back something to indicate whether or not there was land safe to go to. Finally, the dove brought back an Olive Branch. A sign that Noah and his family's stresses were over. There are many other references to olives in the Bible; Romans 11:24, Pslam 52:8, etc. Please correct me if I am wrong, Thank you
9:05 Olive oil was also used in ancient Israel as part of the traditional coronation ceremony. Before being a crown, the king would have oil poured over their head to ritually purify them for the office of king. After this they would be given the title Moshiach meaning “Anointed One” which is the root of the word Messiah.
Referring back to the Code of Hammurabi from Mesopotamia (Messa-Po-Tamia, RT), the most probable reason it's in the Louvre currently was the same reason as how the Rosetta Stone came to Europe. Because of Napoleon's trek through the middle east, notably near to the River Nile. For some apparent reason the British didn't bother taking the Ancient text of Law as well. They just preferred the rather funny rock with taxes written on it that had been used to hold a up a wall once.
The pronunciations were not half bad either (at least I would understand what you are saying if you did come up and say those words to me). For your first time reading those words, and with no one really helping you, I would give it a 8/10, although u did not really ask for a rating :). Keep up the great work RT!
Very nice Islamic reference, especially from the Kabaa, you know RT, the reason for you seeing the large group of people surrounding the Kabaa especially during the Hajj is for as said in the book circumambulation. It is a reference to Prophet Abraham where after he completed the Kabaa, he walked around it seven times counter clockwise to see it's architecture. There is also a reference that says that on top of the Kabaa, the Angels in heaven also do the circumambulation around 'Arsy Allah which can be said as Allah's throne. In Islamic tradition, it is called the Tawaf. You remember that small well structure near the Kabaa? Well that is the Zamzam well and it's very special for Muslims. The story goes when Prophet Abraham went back to his hometown to preach and left his wife, Sara and Prophet Ishmael (who was a baby at that time), Ishmael was thristy, thus Sara decided to go find water for his crying son. So she went to two mountains of Safa and Marwah to find water only to not find them ( this tradition is continued during the Hajj under the name of Saie). Then, Sara prayed to Allah to satisfy Prophet Ishmael's thirst and so, Allah said to have Prophet Ishamel hit his feet on a rock, and that rock suddenly came overflowing with water so pure you can drink it with no hesitation. They drank the water, and thus formed the rock thst will eventually become the Zamzam well. Throughout history, even in Pre Islamic Arabia, it was important for it provided the cleanest waters in all of Arabia. During thr Qarmatians robbery of the Black Stone, corpses were thrown into the well yet the water remained untainted and people can still drink it to this day.
Actually went and googled some of these. The law of Hammurabi is pretty interesting. Some things show their age (slave unjustly accuses you of not owning them? Cut their ear off!) but some that seem to have inspired modern concepts (reading you your rights when arrested) and some we should have implemented by now (scaling fines to your income)
I am sorry for repeating a comment, but this comment I said on the Africa build video got around 3 thousand likes and truly needs to be seen - I understand that not all builds will be able to be showcased or found in the stream, and that going "wah you missed my build go back!" is lame, but there is one section that was missed entirely that truly deserves another pass. In the northeast Africa region, vaguely near where this started in the video[the video being the Africa video], there are a couple of entrances to Hollow Africa, which is a downright massive underground region, spanning a very large percentage of the footprint of that region underground. It has builds contributed by tons and tons of people and is practically an entire additional build region of its own. It could honestly make for an entire video probably (and by extension a decent length stream). Again, sorry for asking like this, but so many people worked on builds down there and it not getting seen is very saddening to me. I may have dug out the space for it, but that's not even sorta impressive. All the people who contributed deserve to get their work seen IMO though.
