This gives me all the warm fuzzies to know how much you liked The World Gives Way. I am honored. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you SO much for featuring it on your channel!!!
This was such a fun video! People always tend to think that their local libraries won't give them good recommendations for books but what people need to be reminded about is that librarians are readers too and half the time they're also consuming the same book media (booktube, booktok, etc.) we are.
I hope you replied to the librarian thanking them and linking this video! They clearly put a lot of thought into their choices and did an excellent job of choosing books that fit your requests.
my library does the best recommendations like that too!! librarians rule. also definitely adding The world gives way based on your and sara's endorsements!! and my Libby has The Mythic Dream - that lineup of authors is amazing!
I always love these videos. You should totally do another one where you read Maddie's backpacks in full. It would be interesting to see what her batting percentage would be.
City of Ember was definitely my 'sci-fi awakening' as a child. I ate that shit up. I feel like not many people read in when they were young but if they did they now love reading.
Riley seeing the part of you reading the ending of the world gives way brought me too tears cause I felt the emotions all over again when I finished the book in January now I’m sitting here just crying 😭
At first I was like oh the world gives ways sounds good but then you said it reminded you of City of Ember...adding to TBR immediately like everyone else
I have One Dark Window but haven’t read it yet. Your video now makes me want to go pick it up lol. I have The Book of Gothel on my Amazon wishlist just haven’t been able to get it yet. It sounds so interesting!
I never would've read The World Gives Way on my own, but I heard you talk about it in a previous video and then saw it on Book Outlet, so I now have a copy on my tbr cart. Didn't know the end was devastating tho until this video so now I'm SCARED lollll.
I first heard about The World gives way on Holly's channel (holly hearts books). I immediatly bought the book and did not read it. Now I really want to pick it up asap. I want that pain 😆
Honestly go off Maddie!!! As Chalice by Robin McKinley is one of my favorites and it's mentioned in this rec list, I'm adding all of these to *my* TBR haha. Thanks for letting me know about this service in Austin!!
If you liked the concept of The World Gives Way, you should try Escaping Exodus by Nicky Drayden. It's a little bit different but the world building sounds like it's just as good. One of my favorite books so far this year
Aurore by Kim Stanley Robinson as a similar vibe to The World Gives Way ✌🏻 But i DNFed It 😅 Loved the worldbuilding (big space-ship with forest, lake, snow ….), but hated the main character 🙈
I guess that since I hated The Book of Gothel I probably won't like the Bear and the Nightingale either... One Dark Window sounds very interesting though!
I love the concept of this video and I am glad it brought some great books into your reading life. :) Personally, I wasn't a fan of Graceling but I would be intrigued to hear your thoughts at some point.
I’ve been so intrigued by the world gives away because of Sara but your review has convinced me to put it on my tbr 🏃♀️ sci fi with emotional devastation?? Say less 👀
