Matt Southcombe followed the same diet, took the same supplements and did the same training as the pros. Read his story here: www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/r...
Same. I'm from Scotland and I've thought it was weird that Scotland has so much of it's own media and institutions but Wales produces nothing at all of any note.
ph nation our language channel S4C is older than Scotlands Alba channel. Wales have been producing media content for donkeys ears. It's not our fault you can't speak the language
A lot of it does depends on genetics and muscle mass. Some people store fat differently, and where you store it is down to genetics. However, if you don't have a lot of muscle mass, you can look pretty "skinny fat" at lower body fat percentages due to muscle not filling up those areas of your body.
the thing is though, he's not "skinny fat". He looks like has a decent amount of muscles (arms, traps, shoulders) and if he were in fact 12%, he would look pretty good. He's not in bad shape in the beginning, but no way that we has at 12%
bro calm down. hes saying he is in decent shape compared to the rest of america, and thats pretty accurate. this guy is also pretty young though, which skews it but still.
I think you belittle the fact that the athletes you're talking about had to stay committed to that level of training since they were kids. High level sport isn't something that you can just pick up for a few weeks.
@@ruairibreathnach4511 actually bro I'm training to play professionally and I started when I was a teen although some others started when they were about 9 years old
@@ruairibreathnach4511 bruh....from being kids, you come to the islands and youll see kids as young as 8 years old already training and getting on the farms...alotta athletes have been drilled since they were young
Thanks for sharing your experience. This hernia will be a reminder for proper periodization / execution of the exercise program in the future. Not all bodily tissues are able to withstand strain and recover from it following a similar timeline. It will hopefully heal, not become sequestered, but unless surgically taken care of, it'll keep on being a weak spot in your abdomen. Exercise is life, it is therapeutic and can also be detrimental. It all depends on how it is approached. Be well 👍
This is so real. I continued to train with minor sciatica and eventually blew out (literally demolished) one of my lumbar discs. Been 4 months and I am just starting to jog again.
No training to extreme training is not a good idea. Im no expert but I've found it takes a while for your body to build a base strength and be ready for hard training
Nah weights will be set at what you can lift and people who are new ish to training especially on a high calorie diet will be able to recover fairly quick
Juany C didn't work for this guy lol. This same thing happened to a close friend of mine. Like crazy for the weekend said, listen to your body. You can tell the difference with some experience of feeling the burn or feeling the strain
Im quite young (17) so that helps but ive been training gym 5 5 times a week rugby twice and a game for a year plus and ive never had bad any bad injury's apart from a minor shoulder injury from rugby.
Juany C being 17 helps alot yes. Things change alot into your 20s if you start working more and playing less sport. Best to just keep in shape the whole time and your body won't get shocked when you need to train hard
His training may have been hard but you are all assuming that he does not train to begin with. I am sure that professionals advised him on how to do this.
Hey if possible could you add somewhere the actual workout program you followed. Like what you trained for ie Diet (macro breakdown), Conitioning, Strength or Speed and breakdown all reps, sets, rests, intensity etc. Thanks, this was a good video and whatever program you followed it clearly worked, just woulda been a lot better video with all the info above explained somewhere. Thanks mate.
Looks like they didn't even measure his body fat directly, they only estimated it based on his physical measurements, which is very inaccurate. To measure accurately you need a DEXA scan which uses lower energy x-rays to directly measure body composition. Or to do hydrostatic weighing, which requires the body to be submerged to measure body density. Or an MRI imaging. I didn't see any of that in the segment. They're probably off by as much as 5-6%.
Military, law enforcement, spec ops people usually don't take supplements during there training, and they are hard as nail because they work off what there body can give them
man I wish I could afford supplements like that I just got better from being ill (had to take a week off) and as soon as I start training again (3 days in) I fall ill again (luckily its the weekend)
Well done holding down a job and training like that great results too, people are always going to hate something body fat innacurate etc, bollock to m.👍
don't jump to conclusion. He probably retains more water which gives an effect of a bloated look, also his body type could store more fat in his stomach than his arms and legs... conclusion someone with 12% fat could look shredded compared to someone with 11% of body fat just because of the reasons above.
Sorry but the comparison is not relevant. On the second picture the camera is closer from you than the first one, so it's normal that you look bigger...
One thing you said .. that your fat loss resulted in higher lean mass percentage but I think it’s more likely that you gained lean mass resulting in body fat percentage loss
Yeah, because you totally need to take BCAAs and all those supplements to be a pro athlete. I totally need to take stuff that are in most cases useless especially if you are on a balanced diet with above average calorie intake.
I bet 2 full body workout sessions of strength training a week and more time actually playing and practicing rugby would be a better approach. Your supplemental training to your sport should never cause an injury.
Would of been a more interesting vid if you played a game before all the training did the 4 weeks of training and afterwards played another game and see the difference in your performance, anyone can follow a training regime.
That's what will happen when u train without a base strength first starting out U will get injured!! A base program such as Starting Strength Or strong lifts or even Greyskull lp is recommended ...peace out
Doesn't look any different at all.. was fine to begin with , should of used a skinny / tall journalist to show it really works. The man already had traps hahah
The reason you got a hernia is because you went from minimal if any training to intense training nearly every day. You should have done some light workouts and gotten your body accustomed to lifting weights before turning up the intensity.
Im 12% bf and still have no abs lol y'all should shut up because lifting weights doesnt mean you are going to get abs, some people like us stock fat in the belly more than in any other part of the body. Fat doesnt stock the same for everyone.
People here are so misinformed to begin with. They probably do not understand that he made over a 10%(not a super accurate calculation) improvement in fat levels
the thing is professional athletes bodies don't break down on them after 8 weeks. you have to do these types of routines for years to reach pro level...of course all athlete's bodies fail them in the end .
