I started carnivore more as for prevention of chronic conditions that run in my family as I am in my 60's and need to lose 50 pounds , but I am experiencing so many unexpected benefits including mental health, energy and sleep . For myself I noticed the times I fall off plan, there are always lessons to be learned and an opportunity for self-awareness. My body is responding very well to animal protein and fat / collagen. I have finally come to a place where my health tastes better than any food or anybody's opinion about how I eat, if that makes sense. Good luck to you and hang in there because we are worth it and deserve to live to the fullest whatever that might be for each one of us individually. 😊

Weight loss comes once your body has started to heal - it took me about 6 weeks before I lost any weight but the benefits in my health keeps me going. Weight loss will come once your body is healthy again. Going for my blood test Monday so I'll report back then. If you have an Iceland near to you, their big daddy steaks taste amazing with just salt and cooked in butter. I recently had my birthday and I did a planned cheat - just a roast potato, small yorkshire pudding and a few green beans - I paid for it but because it was planned I had a couple of days to recover before getting on with my life.

Thanks Sam. I actually did start loosing since I filmed this which I’ll talk about in next months update but basically needed to increase fats. I get my meat from Lidl because it’s the only place I’ve found where I can get grass fed at reasonable prices. If I don’t eat grass fed I get racing heart. I had a banana the other night after a week 100% carnivore and the pain the next day!!!! Certainly puts me off!!

Good for you. I started on carnivore a month ago and the sugar cravings where so bad I looked into the reasons why. Turns out I had mold in my house which I had removed last summer and I think I had a candida over growth in my gut. Both the mold and candida growth can give you huge sugar cravings so I started a detox and 2 weeks later the sugar cravings are finally gone. So is my anxiety and feelings of dread and the headaches. I prefer keto, I eat a salad every now and then with romaine and cabbage, olive oil, oregano as these are good for your gut. Best of luck to you and check out some video's on Lipedema an autoimmune disorder (when fat isn't normal fat), turns out I have that too.

Hi Claire, Sorry to hear that your marriage is breaking up. Im hoping the carnivore diet will somehow help your mental health as you navigate being on your own. Don't be sabotaging yourself with the carbs, or keep them very low:) I think you are going to do great as you stay strict carnivore. The weight loss will come!
@Carnivoreclaire
@Carnivoreclaire 6 месяцев назад
Thanks Norma. I think the key to not sabotaging is advance planning as the only time I tend to eat fruit is if I run out of meat. So trying my best but forgiving myself if not perfect. Already lost a bit (it came off after filming this video) so will update on that next month.

Found you! 🤣. I’ve followed you on and off for ages, since you were doing the sewing vlogs. I’m so pleased that you have found this way of eating helpful. I really needed to hear what you were saying. I KNOW I function 1000% better on protein and fats, I KNOW this… but I’m in a really unpleasant place and I’ve been poorly since November, am I getting myself back on track? NO, I’ve been wallowing in self pity, coughing, hobbling and complaining about how totally dreadful I feel. Thanks Claire, I will take a leaf out of your book and get my act together again! Don’t worry about the weight, you heal first and deal with the chronic inflammation THEN you will notice that you are dropping pounds easily. It’s the way it works. Just in case you haven’t these tips : avoid seed/vegetable oils, replenish your electrolytes, if you use MCT oil…beware start gently 💩, double cream is almost butter (the US don’t have it readily available) so use it in your coffee, if you feel peckish it can see you through for a while before you can get some decent food. Subbed and 🔔 x

Hi Claire - I am excited to find your channel. I am sorry to hear about your marriage and the other challenges you are facing, but appreciate your bravery in putting this all out there on YT. I think we started this carnivore journey at the same time (end of January). My "why" is an auto-immune/rheumatoid disorder that is attacking my eyes. I am on a fun cocktail of medications that make me tired, miserable and heavy (dang prednisone) and I don't want to live like this. I figured it can't hurt to try carnivore, if it helps, great. If not, well, I like meat so it's not like I'll suffer. The first week, the brain fog lifted, the food cravings disappeared (that has been liberating after 30 years of yo-yo dieting). One month in and my skin improved. I have been sleeping much better, too, but I am very tried still. I have not enjoyed the energy spike that a lot of people describe, but I wonder if that is all of my medications and my body needing all these resources to heal. Interesting experiment though, last Friday had an event with a served, plated meal and the best they could offer me was "gluten-free". A bit of sugar and a glass of wine and my skin has gone into full revolt - good to know, won't do that again! I haven't lost much weight either, but I do feel slimmer since the bloat is gone. Like you, treating illness is most important. If I lose weight, then that will be a welcomed bonus, but is secondary to just improving my health. All the best to you on this adventure and thank you for sharing.

Hi Claire! I'm listening to this video now and thought I'd share a few things I've noticed. Firstly, as far as weight goes, it wasn't budging but I just weighed and down 8 lbs from a month ago. I haven't been perfect at this as I'm using up my veggies, but at the most, all I'm having is a little green veg to use it up, which isn't much in the carbs. I'm getting maybe 0-2 or 3 gms carb a day, if that. Not noticing a huge change in my pain level, maybe a little so far. I haven't been sticking to just beef though. I've had chicken and Valentines night I had some shrimp cocktail, which was higher carb than I thought it would be, even though, 8 lbs since a month ago, and I'm not hungry, it's just not eating hardly any carbs. If I'm having any cravings at all, it's greek pepperoncini. I miss them. I'm trying to do this right, so I don't have any in the house. I had leftover green salad with a little smoked salmon for lunch. I am not sure yet about dinner. Has anyone else started this along with Claire( besides me?)? Hope everyone is well. Claire you are doing great!! I'm glad you are feeling better. My emotions have been charged this week, but it's to be expected with some personal issues in my life. (((Hugs everyone)))

Just came across your vid by chance, congrats on the first 30 days they are the hardest, I'm at 120 days next week. Once your past the digestive adaptation issues c3 weeks its so much easier. Don't bother about a weight goal it will happen naturally go for when you feel you look good rather than a specific weight don't count numbers. I am currently wearing a shirt that is now quite loose, in August I was wearing the same shirt but with a t shirt under because it was a good 5 inches away from being able to be buttoned. It's probably a little early in your journey yet but one thing to consider is that you will probably need to change your eating habits of 3 meals per day, I have reached a point where a good breakfast is more than enough for me for the day. I tend to have a breakfast of 5 eggs scrambled mixed with a pack of fried pancetta and a bit of grated Cheddar on top and I find that is more than enough to keep me feeling full all day. I wish I could convince my daughter to give it a try as she has a lot of issues health wise that I think would go away if she did. Best of luck with your journey.

6 years in - you don't need a run-down of my health improvements - suffice to say it just keeps getting better. You've got more healing to do than I did so try to be patient. Your body wants to be healthy so if you stop feeding it poisons and give it what it is designed to use it will do it's best. Supplements, as a general rule are next to useless in terms of nutritional benefit and many contain compounds known to be detrimental. If you are able to stick to animal products your body can make everything it needs, you don't need supplements. Don't worry too Mich if you fall off the wagon now and again...just get back on the next day...And the upside of that is the stark reminder - as you discovered - of just how toxic these substances are. Anyway, glad things are going so well for you and hope you can stick with it. All the best😊😊😊

Weight loss might not be your intention for now but I can tell you when carrying the excess weight it does mess with our hormones which in turn we get depression , I was pretty bad with depression and once the weight was coming off my outlook changed in a big way , the garbage food get rid of it , good carbs now and then won’t hurt at least it doesn’t hurt me , the crap food that puts weight on us and makes us sick that’s the culprit , whole foods or just carnivore will heal you as your finding out in this video. I was off sugar for 4 years because I know I'm addicted to it, but still ate the carbs. I started eating sugar again 1 year ago this month because I thought I could control it--I can't! lol In terms of sugar and carbs. If you give yourself a weeks trial no carbs you’ll be in the right space. It’s only because you’re consuming them that you feel you’re not ready (your brains way of keeping them coming). Ketosis will change that. I know because at Xmas if you told me I’d be carb free by march id have wet myself laughing lol 😂

Find your "why"... once you find the reason you want to do this, you'll be excited to start and will ditch the carbs. I thought I would need the same mentality that you described, needing to be ready to give up the carbs (and I do love bread and pasta). But I woke up one morning, tired of living "like this", and just started carnivore. I didn't prep anything and just did it. Within 72 hours all of my carb/sugar cravings disappeared, I was sleeping better (I need a lot of sleep now) and never felt tired after eating. Feeling better was all the motivation I needed to continue. After two weeks, the smell of anything sweet and junk food became off-putting, it doesn't smell like "food". I'm only 7 weeks in, but I cannot imagine going back.

Great video x keep up the great work x Maybe you could do what you eat in a day? Also do you log your macros what you consume? I fell off the wagon and can't go back on it :(

Thanks. What I eat in a day is the next video. Already filmed so look forward to that. No I don’t log anything that’s the quickest way I fall off the wagon. I love the flexibility to eat when hungry and not count anything.

Eating bread on a carnivore diet? yes it is possible, take pork rind and make a flour. Take 8 eggs, 4 dl pork rind, 4 dl grated cheese and 2 tsp baking powder. 200 degrees for 50 min for a loaf. reminiscent of regular white bread, and 100% carnivore 😀

That’s a great idea for many but for me I can’t eat pork. I tried it again recently but my heart races out of my chest if I do. Love pork rind too!

Fellow carnivore here. May I ask how you film your video? Is in on a computer or through your phone? Do you use an app or just record straight from the device?

I have the same problem with doing too much, then having to rest the next day. I am 7 months into carnivore and I can do more before I have to rest and my recovery time is shorter the next day.

Are you doing vitamin D3 for your sleep? My circadian rhythm corrected itself when I started taking 20,000iu of D3 with K2 every day. I never took melatonin for it.

I’ve been on high level vit d3 for years as I can’t keep levels up naturally. My sleep issues are a disorder called non 24hr circadian rhythm disorder. I’ve had it my whole life. Melatonin is the only thing that regulates it. However on this diet I’m only sleeping 4 hours a day need to take electrolytes as that usually helps.

Hi Claire, can you tell me what you are eating daily please ? I also have long term ME and many other life changing conditions and am struggling to live at the moment ; and when I thought it could not get any worse I broke my wrist (right hand also) 10 days ago and in plaster so now I am completely STUFFED....................all alone and housebound for 7 years now xx

I’m so sorry to hear this. Mostly I have been eating pre packaged lamb, beef, pork although pork doesn’t agree with me. Lamb is my preferred meat because it’s fatty and tastes the best. I was eating eggs too but my body didn’t like them. I also have some cheese. If you want to do this taper down the carbs to avoid side effects. You want to aim for zero carbs after a couple of weeks. Good luck 🤞

The sugars throughout the day will insulin up , so you cant burn fat with the insulin in play. Maybe cut down and have just banana at breakfast ?

I gave bananas up a month ago. I’ve had maybe 2 since then and that was because constipation was painful (I have a broken coccyx) and needed to remedy it but I’m pretty much 100% carnivore these days

On Carnivore what does a day of eating look like? Especially if it was carnivore OMAD? I'm Keto but I'm wondering id the dairy is causing me to still have painful body inflammation or possibly its oxalates in the leafy greens. I don't want to destroy my metabolism more than I already have with decades of yo-yo dieting.
@Carnivoreclaire
@Carnivoreclaire 5 месяцев назад
You won’t destroy your metabolism. It’ll slow down if you don’t eat but can speed up again. It sounds like you’d benefit from trying carnivore for a month. I don’t eat omad i eat 2mad but for a while I was hardly eating. Cravings go with zero carbs. Dairy and oxalates can cause inflammation it could be both. Two months in my inflammation is extremely low. Eating for me is in the morning about 400g steak with butter followed by the same about 5pm. Occasionally I’ll have cheese but try not to as it messes with weight loss.

@@Carnivoreclaire Thank-you, I appreciate your advice! Do you have eggs or liver or anything like that? Is pork okay? Bone broth? Sorry about the questions but I'm very interested but I want to know what I'm doing before I start. I have subscribed.
