I did a nuzlocke of this game in my free time and only had 3 deaths. Jibanyan got killed by Venoct because my healer (Shadow Venoct ironically) decided to not do anything. The other 2 deaths were my only healer at the time (Tattletell) and Walkappa who got one-shot by Castelius III's soultimate (somehow Cadable, who also got hit by it survived)

12:50 As soon as he said this I was saying “you fool, what have you done?” Edit: you can actually beat snartle at E rank. it takes a lot of skill like rotating the circle of yo-Kai, using tribe unities, etc. He’s basically that skeleton boss from shin megami tensei aka a scrub filter

The ending with the drawing was peak also dismerelda in the anime was already married so that drawing is inaccurate but peak

I actually did a few nuzlockes myself. I limited myself to one yo-kai per area and one per dungeon (alleys included) and found that it makes a world of difference! Happy to see people try this challenge in 2024!

Yeah, this series REALLY is not designed for hardcore challenges like that because the game has ACTUAL bosses with massive HP that take hardcore players in mind from the start. Not to mention, the game actually expects you to be able to teambuild. You have to be able to get as many monsters as possible as opposed to limiting your options with a Nuzlocke so you have Tanks to help you reduce incoming damage, Healers to reliably keep your HP topped off and Rangers for extra support effecfs. You can't just fill your team with Fighters and expect that to go very far especially woth how the bosses are designed. It's not like Pokemon where you get rewarded for mashing A on attacks like a dumb monkey.

you know nuzlocks say the run doesn’t start until you get poke balls so maybe another rule should be it doesn’t start until you complete chapter 1

Funny thing: Snartle’s level is directly tied to the rank of the Yokai watch (you can rank up the watch to let it see higher level yokai). I’m pretty sure at the start of the game his level is around 16 (which is ridiculously higher than the level intended for the starting rank). If you’re willing to grind a bit at the start of the game, you could try to farm red lights for the opportunity to get a level 16 Snartle at the start. (Be warned this tactic only really works in Yokai watch 1, because in 2 if you keep breaking the rules over and over again, you instead fight a super boss Oni instead of snartle on the 3rd or 4th skipped light).

WOOOO!!! YOKAI WATCH!!! Very happy to find another person who appreciates this game. It was one of the first video games I ever played, in my life, before any Pokemon game, and it always makes me mad when people call it "just a Pokemon clone"

I think this is is the most quality ykw nuzlocke video to date, especially on yo kai watch 1. And it is also way more watchable for people that have never played the game. Congrats on making this absolute banger of a video even tho you got absolutely nowhere

I played the 2 and 3 part "only" but loved every sec of it, even played them multiple times and im happy the yo kai lineage gets some recognition. Even if it might look derpy and childish it is quite unique and so good story wise and you got so much story in one game for a pretty good price. I'm quite sad the switch games didnt make it out of the asian region but still it made a huge part of my childhood

YKW is a crazy good series. An insane amount of content, good music, and graphic fidelity crammed into three 3DS games

Awesome to see yo kai watch getting more attention! My friend has attempted a few nuzlockes of his own as far as I know, and I’m hoping to attempt one as well! I love all three games and I think it still holds true as my favorite 3DS game series ever lol

YEEEEEESSS YO KAI WATCH CONTENT!!!! Also, I propose a "legendary run". So you know how you need a few specific yo kai to get legendaries (like for shogunyan you need dismerelda, jibanyan, Hapierre, castellius 3rd, etc...). You can only use yo kai required for legendaires or the legendary itself (unless you're forced to use another, like at the start of the game)

Ahhh omigosh seeing Yokai Watch content in the wild is so cool! Its my favourite game series so its nice to see more people talking about it! U should 100% give it another go, or try it on YKW2 since it might be a bit easier (however thats game is a lot longer than 1 so a loss would be far more devastating than jaywalking)

Thank you for pointing out the differences between Pokemon and Yo-Kai watch. I ADORE Yo-Kai watch's story, characters, and while the battle system wasn't my favorite at first it grew on me overtime. Genuinely wish people play this game more! 🙏

If you do end up doing another nuzlocke you should know that as soon as the game opens up to you you gain access to the sewers(with difficult yo-kai) and the two alleys in uptown Springdale alongside a portion of Mount wildwood making it much easier to get more yo-kai(in addition most nuzlocke yo-kai watch rules I've seen include a clause that the areas to befriend are refreshed when you upgrade your watch(although I'd personally exclude alleys and dungeons from that since they don't change from the upgrade))

10:13 The way that I went "oh my god breaking the road rules you shouldn't do that" only to find your run dying to that dude I remember playing Yokai watch and ALWAYS pressing the button, so either I was such a pencil that I always followed the road rules, or I've been traumatised and sealed those memories away which either way, kinda funny

Ive tried doing one of these before so I'm glad to see Yo-kai watch is finally getting the attention it deserves

With how hectic later bosses can become and also how much Yokai dying in battle can snowball if not fixed in my personal nuzlocke I made the role of while I could use revival items in battle if a Yokai is dead when the battle is finished they’re dead for good (and if that sounds too easy you can add the specification you can only use the weakest revive in the game)

I loved yo-kai watch since I first got the first game. In fact every time I go on holiday I always take the old 3ds and play one of the games!

This is my child hood staying up till 12:00 with out parnants knowing freaking out at night when the oger came out catching the street gaurd and just having a good time Beet all three games the first and both time traveling games. Man I loved thouse days ❤😢

If u want a more strategic game and more adapted to nuzlocke u can try yokai watch 3 there's a system where u can move ur team members so they can protect each other/get in attack formation and also an item to guarantee friendship and overall more team options
