This topic takes me back to when I attempted my first sppedrun of a Pokemon game, back in LeafGreen. It was far from a model speedrun - it was like 5 1/2 hours - but it was a really fun mixup and a nice inspection of speedrunning strategy and all that jazz.

A CandyEvie satnav would be like "Turn left at the next junction. I think. Wait no you need to turn right! Where are we going again?"

tbf there is a speedrun designed for using your favorites, it's called Trade Alt Mains. You essentially trade in whatever pokemon you want as a "starter" and use it for the entire run

This was such a fun video to watch. Me and a friend decided to randomly generate each others teams for a play through of the version we didn't get for our original playthrough (for me that would be Violet and for him that would be Scarlet). The premise was to just have a bit of fun and use pokemon we'd not normally use. I got Barraskewda as my starter, Lucario, Honchkrow, clawitzer, Glalie and Kingambit. He got Bannette, Eevee, Oranguru, Toxapex, Grafaiai, and Krokodile. The rules were we could use any pokemon from the evolutionary line of the pokemon we got and had one reroll. My original third Mon was meowth so I rerolled and got Murkrow. In my original playthrough I did use kingambit so all but one of the pokemon on my new Violet team are pokemon I wouldn't normally use. Nobody told me Barraskewda would be this good. Somehow Barraskewda clutched two trainer fights in an overlevelled area I decided to journey through (the big lake area) one was a trainer with a lvl 53 Mismagius, my lvl 38 barraskewda two shot it, the other was a trainer with a lvl 53 Tsaarena and lvl 53 Florges which almost defeated my entire team until Barraskewda the mad lad that he is came in and took them both out.

i do the same thing with my left and rights as well. you are not alone in that one. i have to look at the back of my hands and point out my thumbs and pointer fingers and the one that makes the "L" is my left.

Gimmighoul is a mimic, that's why the Auto Battle doesn't work. Your Pokemon doesn't recognize it when the chest is closed

If I had a nickel for every animation RU-vidr involved in Pokémon that doesn't know their lefts and rights apart, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened twice.

I, too, have difficulty telling left and right appart. An easy trick is to hold up both hands in front of you so you can see your finger nails. Your left hand forms the letter "L" with your thumb and pointing finger.

What I do when I’m having trouble with left versus right is (at least when I’m not doing anything time-sensitive that requires a lot of attention) is I form sort of L-shapes with my index fingers and thumbs. The hand that forms a forwards L is the left hand, and the hand that forms a backwards L is the right hand. I’ve gotten to the point that I can do it in my head, which helps me keep my left and right straight (no pun intended).

Whenever I see you on my feed I think: this is nice.

Since gen 7 I've only done 1 playthrough of new titles I honestly didn't know shiny pokemon had a sound in the overworld and now my brain is trying to think if we heard that sound and skipped a shiny
