Hi I'm Lucy and I make videos about Pokemon I think
My other channel Luvie is now an animation channel (woah I know right)
I have a P.O Box if you want to feed my unhealthy card collection or to just send whatever (I already have club penguin for DS 4 times you don't need to send me that it's ok)

IME nobody accused Yo-Kai Watch in particular of being a Pokemon clone, but more embraced it as a legit competitor, especially with the more action-oriented battle systems in the later games. Dragon Quest Monsters way back on the Gameboy might be borderline without the context of Dragon Quests 5 and 6 being available to non-Japanese players, so nobody outside of Japan would make the connection of Terry befriending monsters, only the context of Pokemon being popular and Enix wanting in on some of that action.
So little late to this vid, but to clarify the point on the similarities in pal to pokemon designs, they do explicitly say that a lot of the designs came from this one japanase uni student, who very likely just didn't expect any of the designs he came up with based on other sources to be directly converted into models faithfully. Most design processes have the original concept art not looking at all like the original by the end of it, so if anything, it's likely just that the more obviously inspired designs didn't get all that closely examined before being implemented. But it's pretty much fully established at this point that Nintendo don't have at all enough of a basis to sue, given their extremely litigious nature and lack of action over this game.
I had that Pikachu lush too! Wish I still had him :( Also I remember the Pokeballs with the candy and Figurines inside. Tried to get Lucario and got him first try! I love that dude but his arm fell off. I was so hyped up for Lucario thanks to the movie. Btw Im from Germany, and I craved anything that had Pokemon once I got obsessed with it. (I still am.)
I kind of have personal story with this gen. When I was sixteen, my parents agreed to buy me 3DS and Pokemon X, even tough they though I'm too old for Pokemon. Mostly because I was in the middle of treatment for cancer. I was spending a lot of time in hospital taking chemo, and suffering from it's side-effects. At least 3DS and games were something to distract me a little. Because of that I strongly associate Pokemon X & Y with this period in my life. If anyone wonders about it: it was a type of cancer with a high ratio of curable cases, and luckily I wasn't an exception. Additionally, my body did not pose much resistance to the chemo, therefore the side-effect were really bad, but the cancer was shrinking quickly I'm fine now.
i feel old i had the first one and because i lived on a main street i wasn't allowed to play outside at home so yup i shook pikachu and hid him in my backpack hoping no noise would be made they already banned tomagotchi at school. pikachu became my friend but then i got bored lol but it's still weird hearing people say they don't remember something that everyone wanted or had when i was a kid.
I mean in the Pokemon anime they openly talked about how Farfetch'd are endangered because they people would eat them as well, so it's not that strange that people would eat pokemon.
I will never understand the hate for Sword/Shield. I loved that game. So confusing that people think SV is better somehow. The fashion choices were great and the character designs for the NPCs are personal favorites! (I do like a lot of the Pokemon designs in SV, though.) However, Arceus is the real winner. Finally something new and fun! Great new region Pokemon designs, too!
If you feel SV didn't have game breaking bugs, I'm very jealous of the run you had. Also, I feel the frame rate instability of SV needed a mention. Palworld feels a lot more stable
You need money for _____ (something funny) Of course man. Do you have any idea how much Something Funny goes for in this economy?! You gotta save every penny
Oh, you video reminded me of Magikarp Jump's continued existence on my phone, I need to get back to training on there again. Some of those events sound insane though! Thanks for the great look into the game <3
I think it's been five plus years since I watched your videos, but they're still great! I really like the inbetween frames you have on your avatar now.
yeah.. palworld's overworld music is a bit lacking, kinda why i put some videos in the background. but all that takes a pause the moment the legendary theme hits.. i haven't cried in joy for a song sense the day i found about about Cardinal-Paranoia or Emigrate-Rainbow.
I will say the comparisons were confirmed to be completely faked and tampered with. Kind of surprised you didn't mention the lucky hunting or the elemental variants or unethical human experiments or the mating pal or how depresso compliments Larry from Pokémon so well or any of that. There is just so much to talk about.
19:57 You _can_ give them inhumane working conditions. And experience realistic consequences for doing so... They get sick and become less efficient... In a game where the best workers are harder to come by with the limited resources you need to craft better spheres. Also guns are mid-game and gun production line is late-game.
15:24 You can also catch humans which counts as assault but there's little benefit to doing so as they have no moves, won't use their weapons and also have no work stats. That said, if you get away with it, no one will notice it again with the same captured human, even if you send out the captured human right in front of an officer in the scant few human settlements.
7:11 You should try the Dragon Quest Monsters games (also Dragon Quest Builders 1 and 2, which are the Minecraft-like games, they're fun spin-offs and I honestly even like them better than Minecraft and Lego Fortnite). The newest one, DQM: The Dark Prince is a bit mid though.
3:37 I mean in Japan, Jibanyan dethroned Pikachu as top brand mascot for a while. YW never made it as big over here for a number of reasons and fell off in Japan because of issues with parents being confused as to which medals worked with which watches. I'm not sure why the arks or whatever the English version of the manga (that somehow kept going) called them didn't work out and then they went with Y School heroes with MORE watches and MORE medals and yet somehow the main anime managed to get a second continuation called Yo-Kai Watch ♪ (as opposed to the first attempt at a continuation _without_ a music note) but that ended last March, the last issue of the manga was released last May and the franchise is pretty much completely dead now. Level 5 Vision 2024 promises to have something YW-adjacent at least but it keeps getting pushed back...
0:18 Galgomon says hi. I mean sure the Digimon anime, V-pets and the first game we got in the west that combined the v-pet with proper RPG elements (unlike the Japan-exclusive Sega Saturn game which was more literally just a vpet with extra steps or the Japan-exclusive PocketStation games which were that in a different way in spite of being spun off of the first Digimon World game) weren't Pokemon clones but every kid in the schoolyard was calling Digimon as a whole a ripoff of Pokemon. Besides Bandai America's and Fox's executives and Haim Saban being _absolute morons_ was to blame for Digimon's failure. After Disney picked it up, it never really got back the lost momentum.
Ngl i don't think they will add them. I don't wanna be pessimistic, but i feel like once this initial, summer pokemon go craze, is over, the game will probably die off. Nintendo is not really big on mobile games so it'll probably get forgotten. Looking forward to sun and moon though
Yeah I got my first shiny Charmander my first shiny ever by trading it over to Pokemon Gold the day Pokemon Gold came out cuz I wanted all six starters and I was wondering why Charmander now purple
