I averaged over 260 with 5-FINGER HOLE BOWLING BALL??!! 

This older sweet lady I bowled with had to drill a 3rd hole next to the finger holes for extra leverage, RIP. She was so sweet and nice to bowl with, she said the older you get the weaker your finger strength is, so drilling that,extra hole helps

I only use ring finger and thumb due to breaking and tearing middle finger throwing back up ball lol gotta do what you gotta do!

I would love to try it to see how it feels. Are you able to hook the ball with 4 fingers the same as with 3 fingers? Or, are you limited with the revs you are able to generate?

He was using all the holes, thumb included. Also people that don't use their thumb do not have to scribe their ball. Yes some do a little X or mark on the ball but it is not real hard to look at the position of the pin to make sure it is oriented the right way in your hand. Not to mention that most people the ring finger is smaller and it wont fit the index wont fit if backwards. But I would think any bowler that is a UCBC member knows this already. It has been in effect 1 year and a half. Less known at the same time they did that they took the side weight allowed in a ball from 1 ounce to 3 ounces. So if your pro shop knows what they are doing their is no need for a balance hole because they give you 2 more ounces. But yes you are correct, if you throw with just your fingers and no thumb you can not use a ball with a thumb hole on a USBC sanctioned event. It will be considered a balance hole Open bowl you can do whatever you want. I have wanted to try a ball with 3 fingers for a while.

There can be up to 11 holes in a bowling ball. Read the rules, don’t just make up stuff.

@@johnsoneal I would like to see a link to those rules and where you found them. Because after the recent ban of balance holes all holes in a ball are made for gripping only and only 5 holes allowed max. For each finger and thumb. No more per USBC rules. I have read them. It sounds like you are the one making stuff up.

@@jvmiller1995 Actually, with the removal of balance holes, it's 10 now. It's kind of circumstantial, but they still count as holes, technically. Look under "Equipment specifications" (Chapter 8, rule 7e). "One vent hole for each finger and/or thumb hole, not to exceed 1/4 inch in diameter is permitted."

That ball had a balance hole though which would not be legal.

I always wanted to try a MoRich. They use to have one called a minotaur that was pretty popular. But I slept and now they are gone. No used ball from 15 years ago will out preform a newer ball so I guess I never will. Well maybe the exception is urethane but they are trying to make it so you cant throw the older ones because they get softer. At least in the PBA anyway they banned any over 2 years old. . But likely to come to the USBC

Get you a lighter ball and adapt your game. You don't have to have a big slide or bend down to bowl good. Besides it is all about having fun. You don't have to throw a 16# ball 16MPH either. I currently use a 15# but thinking of going down due to bad bones. I have a bone disorder eating my bones and joints. I have AV necrosis in both hips had them both operated on once before to try and fix but it failed. I am waiting on a surgery date for both hips to be replaced now . I have degenerative disk disease in my spine with more than 2 disk collapsed. Also Plates and 6screws in my left slide ankle and have had 5 shoulder surgeries on my right and one on my left. That is just the high lights . I am 45 and this is the one thing I love to do. My body is going to get worse daily but I am going to do what makes me happy as long as I can because one day I will not be able too. I rolled a 667 series earlier today with all that and a hip I cant even stay on most the time. But I adapted my approach most the time I slide but as soon as the ball is off my hand I have to plant my right foot fast before the hip gives out. I can't wait to see how well it does after getting them replaced.

@@jvmiller1995 Maybe but after last time bowling spasm was so bad could not drive for 3 days due to severe back spasms. I may try your suggestion but will be having an MRI exam to see what is going on. Have moderately severe degenerative arthritis and disc bulging from last MRI several years ago. Getting older is not easy but want to keep living!

@@doctorrobert60 yeah i can understand. I have degenerative disk disease too. I have a lot of bone problems. I just found out fri i have low calcium and vitamin D is not being absorbed. Most likeley a bone disease. I have to see some more specialist and do a bone densityscan. . Then as I stated both hips are pretty well shot. So I might have to slow down a bit myself. But as long as I can do what I enjoy I am going to do what I love. So dont over do it at my suggestion. But i know lots of seniors that still roll the ball that cant hardly walk. I may not ever be a pro but I love this game

Do you have that pinky hole finger tipped with an insert or just the hole or do you have it short like a conventional grip? I know Robert Smith used the Sarge Easter style grip but I've seen that adopted to the pinky hole. I'm gonna drill one up finger tipped just don't know if going with a grip or just a tipped no grip hole, I guess the only way to find out is test both. How many degrees of tilt did it change for you? I am a really high Track player and stay within Moe Parnells guidelines only when drilling! The Theroy of the N and his layouts work for me all the time. Anything else I'll hit the thumb but I'm 45 now and I had a purple Rhino back in 92 that had a pinky hole and it worked really well. But I was 17 and cold get under it with normal anyway never really thought about til now with all the 2 handers I think that 1 extra pinky will really add just what I need if it's laid out just right. A grip or no grip and how deep the hole is for 1 hole I'll just have to start with a few old balls see what it does to the track and adjust from there! Just wondering how it affected yours overall? Rip MOE!

@@TRAXRIPPER It is just a hole with no grip, you will feel right away that it makes the ball sit in your hand differently. It makes it easy to roll off the front of your hand and that adds 10 degs or more of tilt and makes it snappier and cleaner. I also have a high track on everything I throw other than my Tank Blitz its weird but I love it.

I believe 8 or 9 sanctioned 300s and 3 800s. A lot more unsanctioned but I don’t think anyone cares about those

@@220avg I started counting mine sanctioned or not because holes in one make the newspaper no matter if it’s in a league or not, they all count. Nobody checks the lanes anymore anyway, they’re all approved.

Try doing just a spare conversion video on it. It seems like to me being almost 69 everyone throws strikes. Not attention on spare shooting

Quick drill 10 holes

I wouldn’t recommend doing it on any ball you care about. I worked in a pro shop for 5 years so I have a good understanding of how balls are drilled. And even so, it’s still impossible to perfectly gauge the pitches of the holes. I can get pretty close but I still only do it for entertainment purposes

@@220avg Thanks for the reply. I just think it would be nice to do my own equipment. As my town hates decent proshops for some reason. That and balls are so much cheaper to order online than a pro shop. I just struggle with the Cost and travel for equipment. Since it's over an hour to get to a proshop. Have to order a ball, then drive all the way back to get it drilled later...

If it's a USBC sanctioned league you are only allowed 5 gripping holes.

@@220avg LOL, I experimented like that too just after joining the Air Force back in the day, its fun. My Coach also taught me to drill a ball where the Pin is located just above the Thumbhole. It will hook the same but it holds the line just after hooking. You can average 240. Keep up the Entertaining videos.

Four fingers felt very uncomfortable but I also didn’t take the time to get used to it.. Im most likely going to stick with just 2 fingers

Felt awkward and had to adjust my swing a little bit to get the ball to go where I wanted it to go

@@220avg after watching you I decided to give it a try and the results have been amazing, like you I never had a ball go through the pins like this, absolutely love it. And to avoid your problem of sore fingers, I put grips in all four of the finger holes. Loved it from the first shot, no pain and stopped me from squeezing the ball.👍👍👍

Just bowling more and more should build the muscles you need to handle heavier balls. There’s a lot of people who don’t work out at all throwing 15s and 16s But I do recommend working out. One of my other passions

I did this experiment as a stupid teenager. Results: Regular shoes = fall down. Socks only = fall down. Barefoot = doable.

I considered 😂 feel like that’d mess with the algorithm though
