I'M BACK! In this vlog, I travel solo as a female backpacker throughout Switzerland to Interlaken, Grindelwald, and Lauterbrunnen. I hiked the swiss alps, celebrated swiss day, met new friends at my hostel, paraglided over the swiss mountains, visited the Trummelbach falls, saw the top of Schilthorn, hung out with some mountain goats, etc.
I've been backpacking throughout Europe for the past 4 weeks so it was super hard to find time to edit and get decent wifi. I'm sooo excited to finally share this video with you all! It was seriously such a dream and I love that I can finally share it!

Yeah, it's always weird to see tourists in the area where you live. I used to live in Hamburg, so it was pretty much normal for me. But sometimes I've seen tourists being overwhelmed by something (like how crowded it was in some places, or how amazing the view on the Alster is) and I always wished I could see my home town through the eyes of a tourist. Like, what wonders does the place where you live have that you are totaly oblivious to because you see it every day?

Hey Switzerland is the safest to travel alone as a first timer and Japan too :) But as with everywhere else, just be alert and follow your intuition :)

You can be very safe just be smart and don’t put yourself in potential bad situations. Leaving the bar drunk at 2 am alone and walking in dark alley ways not a good idea etc. don’t trust the smooth talkers they are always evil. :)

U dont know what can happened to a young alone female, also im switzerland, come nare to Biel/Bienne and u will see if its safe to be alone or not. (Im speaking about the litteraly crazy people of this region, and also of the crazy drugs users in this city its very sad and dangerous, not like the USA but we’re also less people in switzerland 🤷🏻‍♂️).

@@riddimenjoyer7826 I think in the USA we still segregate and don't provide public transport in the more dangerous areas. It's really divided and it makes me very sad. When I moved from a safe part to a city in Texas, it really broke my heart. The locals seemed completely oblivious to it, they somehow have convinced themselves it's just 'normal.'

I‘m Swiss and it is amazing to see my country through the eyes of a visitor from abroad. Shows how much there is still to be discovered even for a native like me. You have got real skills in presenting and editing videos! This is much better than all those ads from tourism associations. Btw, been to Cali in 1989. Wonderful place! haha ticino is not really switzerland! Technically speaking it has nothing to do about the Swiss german part. Tessin or ticino is just an italian haven where mostly native italians live. It's not the real switzerland that most people talking about also people there are Rude and miserable unlike the rest of Switzerland!

If you're saying Ticino isn't a part of Switzerland, you could say that about every part behind the "Röschtigrabe". There's a reason we call ourself Confoederatio Helvetica. *Wikipedia: Federations are often multiethnic and cover a large area of territory* Well, Switzerlanf isn't huge, but nevertheless a good example of a multiethnic society. But none of them should feel less "swiss" than others.

Karen Brunnen what???? Ticino is a part pf Switzerland as much as Bern or Zürich, you can’t say that. Just becuase we speak italian and we do not have the same traditions that does not mean that we are not Swiss. It’s like saying that everyone Who does not live in Rome isn’t italian or eveyone Who does not live in Berlin isn’t german. Please try to understand that Switzerland has 26 cantons and every cantons is a part of the country as much as the others!!!!!

I'm from the German speaking part too, and whatever Karen Brunnen's on about is definitely not true. Of course you're as equally Swiss as the German and French and Romantsch speaking parts of Switzerland, my brothers and siters from the south.

The only really bad thing I don't like about switzerland (from a Swiss perspectiove) is that it is extremely crouded. People everywhere, mountains cluttered with tourism etc. Still very beautiful but you will never find true nature. You will never have a picture of switzerland where you can see just nature.

@@yyyboy But she got it after she went to her hostel. Who knows, I'm not going to track them down. There's a big Coop near to me that is bigger than any of the stores in my hometown in the US (a city around the same size as the one I'm in now). But sure, if you're going to compare the size of a market in a city of 200,000 to something in the center of Los Angeles, they aren't really a good comparison. I just think the notion is a bit misguided.

Calista Renee yes do it! I went to Ecuador (my dad lives there) and it was very beautiful and you get to meet so many cool people and do lots of stuff. I turn 16 in December so I can’t really travel to another country completely by myself but if you have the chance to travel anywhere DO IT

Switzerland is just soooo beautiful! A couple of years ago I went to Geneva and then to a village called Champex, which surrounded a lake in the mountains and the views were stunning!

@@ElenaTaber yeah you should! We were so high up that sometimes we were walking in the clouds and the ski lift took us to even better views. At night the main street was lit up by fairy lights so it was completely magical!!

Traveling through Switzerland alone is easy and safe for women and the youth. This is not happenstance, it is by design to guard the old honest ways of living and rights are protected. Suisse people thrive on a community spirit, honesty and doing the right thing. someone is always around to help if needed, no matter how far in the alps you may be! I am an American, blessed to call this country home for 20 years and raise my children here. It looks like you had a very nice adventure, fun to watch. Thank you for the share.

Travelling solo in Switzerland is like the safest thing to do. You can be in the middle of the night in the middle of a city and nothing happens to you. Taking public transportation is the best and super safe too.

I feel like young people like us want to travel to the big cities and countries first if they have the chance to do it and i love how you travel to the smll and beautiful switzerland (and alone) even though it os not a big city or very known to travel to for younger people because it is more expensive than anywhere else lol. I never quite understood the appeal of Interlacken with the tourist. The city is neither interesting or pretty by swiss standards... But hey it seems you met some nice people there.

U think so coz u are Swiss but people all over the world like Interlaken coz there is small and " typical Swiss village... City like Zürich isn't special from a big city person...

Thank you for this beautiful video :) I was born here and have lived most of my life here and I still have moments of awe when we go riding our Vespas somewhere over the hills and the panorama just opens up to an amazing view. I do get teary eyed sometimes because I love and appreciate it so so much. That might sound odd coming from a native Swiss, but it's the truth.

Feeling so lucky to live in swizerland almost 20 years. When ever i got bit of free time i ride my motorbike and going 1 beautiful place to another place. I appriciate every beauty of swizerland and the peole are also very nice never had bad experience 😘😘😘

So cool to see this when living in Switzerland. I have been to almost all these places. Yes we love our mountains.. but Interlaken seems a bit touristy with the joddelers and all. You can't find them anywhere else than in the mountains ^^
