The london system is described by the triangular formation of the pawns with the dark squared bishop out side the pawn chain. Its not an opening thats why its called a "system". The difference being is that opening tend to rely on specific order of moves to achieve a position where as a system doesnt care of the order as long as you get to the formation. So basically its still a london system even in 969 cause of the pawn formation and the bishop.

@@srt-fw8nh I meant that the game with GM Former_Player was exciting to watch. That wasn't one of Magnus good game. The other games Magnus was just better and eventually won. Edenaviric Dry sense of humor 😆 Magnus does start with a psychological edge against most players. Peter Svidler played a blitz match to 5 points against Magnus a couple of days ago and before it began, he said he’d probably lose 5-0. It ended 5.5-.5. Given that I’d be taking screenshots of every move if I had the pairing, I wouldn’t survive the opening (plus being half his blitz rating!) Eric has such a pleasant demeanor and I enjoy his play and honesty. All of the other players enjoyed the advantage of Magnus playing on a touchpad but Eric was one of few to convert it. Well done.

They should take Chess 960 to the next level by allow both players to remove pieces of their opponent off the board before the game starts. Only a total of 3 points total can be removed off the chess board. For example 1 knight or 1 bishop or 3 pawns. This way the game will be truly random. It would be so unpredictable.

when you said you were going to play london against carlsen, i thought you were crazy. every time someone busts out london against him they lose, but it was 960, so maybe it's viable?

Hey, congrats man! Next time you pull it off though, maybe consider putting his name in your video title, e.g. "How I beat Magnus Carlsen." I've been looking at various chess RU-vidrs recently and including his name prominently in the title seems to be getting more views than phrases like "World Champion" or even the wordy "World Champion Magnus Carlsen." (I suppose if you're into chess enough to watch it on RU-vid, you're already really familiar with Magnus.) Just an observation.

Chess 960 is a game that can show who truly is a natural talent. There are no memorized lines that have been thought out for years. Here are the pieces Boom you have one second to think!

What is the point in the sneaky queen f1 at the end? I realize it's supposed to surprise you into a blunder but not sure how
