Watch live on Twitch: / imrosen -- Follow to get notified when I go live!
In this video I play a rapid chess game against fellow Twitch Streamer vengaard_live ( / vengaard ) who is a relatively new to chess- only been playing for ~3 months! In the game, I unleash the Ponziani Opening and proceed to show no mercy. I hope this game provides some instructional value when it comes to exploiting common beginner mistakes and using basic tactics to seize the advantage. Towards the end of the game (once I achieved a decisive material advantage) I put more of my focus towards answering various questions from the Twitch Chat. After the game, I provide some basic tips and advice and show how black could have improve the opening play against the Ponziani.

Stalin used this strategy to win world war 2
@JunkBondTrader
@JunkBondTrader 3 года назад
@@randomname5580 His commanders did, and it was relatively easy to mop up what was left of the German army by then. Stalin was an infamously horrible tactician. Cos the Russians had 10 million soldiers, he just sent in relentless waves of men until they overwhelmed the Germans, which is why Germans killed like 2 Russians for every German. It was near the end, when Stalin let his commanders take charged (something Hitler was too dumb to do), when they cleaned up the rest of the German army. Stalin's roll in winning the war was much lesser than Britain and USA in my opinion. With his army size, it'd be crazy if USSR failed their final missions.

Eric knows that going easy on someone is not how you help them get better, but he's also not going to be a jerk about crushing them. You give 'em all you've got, and then you teach them what they did wrong afterwards. 20:18 GG. My favorite chess story from about 2005 or so. Two guys on a chess site didn’t care for each other. One of them complained and had in game chat shut off for other player. There was a glitch at end of game and the silenced player was able to text “GG” All Hell broke loose in the forum! “I was personally attacked again after I had comments silenced for a certain player! Player was able to send message when they won!!!” Only a week later did everyone find out that sinister Attack Message was just... GG. It became the new forum attack for any debate. “GG!” Good times.

Just wondering, at 10:00 wouldn’t ng6 be the best move because if he takes the knight u can take the queen with ur bishop. If he takes the bishop u can take the queen with ur knight. And if he runs away with the queen u can take the rook at h8? I’m a beginner just trying to learn more
@andresfontalvo17
@andresfontalvo17 3 года назад
I think they're both winning and the choice is more a matter of style. In your line black gets two pieces for the queen which is roughly the same as winning one piece, which he accomplished at the beginning of his chosen line, only his queen was more active after taking in e6. Hope that helps
@ryanchan7630
@ryanchan7630 2 года назад
I don’t think so, if you played Ng6, black plays Qd5 Nh8, black takes hanging bishop on B5 and your knight is not in a good position at H8.

3:30 wouldve taken knight with knight Then his queen would be in danger His pawn would take it Move queen to where that pawn is and take it then kings in check He might move his queen down to prevent this Take rook and check king again Depending on what happens maybe get another bishop too

10:20 would there have been a downside to moving Nf7(the move I personally would have played) here, rather than capturing on c6? Nf7 puts pressure on both rooks, and opens the queen to 2 attacks(knight on f7 and bishop on f4), which caught my attention.

Hey guys new to chess was wondering if anyone could share some knowledge, why would we not go knight to f7 here at 8:25 ? as it would get us a 3 way fork with the 2 rooks and queen, because the bishop is pinning the black queen black has to move the queen so they cant use the light square bishop to take our knight and we just win a rook?

@timmcilveen1246

At the 5 min mark, when you were pinning the black knight, would black pawn to a6 have been a good move, followed by black pawn to b5, if you moved your bishop to a4 in an attempt to maintain the pin? I would play that sort of defence a lot and wonder if it is a bad thing.
