Next playthrough challenge: not allowed to trash items rarer than 1/200 drop rate, you must pick them up, they must stay in your inventory at all times but cannot be used other than to fill inventory slots, if you fill your inventory to the brim the run ends. :D

Blowing up ebonstone with bombs isn't cheating. In older versions they were blast proof, and now the demolitionist says you can brow up ebonstone so it's an intentional mechanic

Y'know, I feel like this challenge would be downright easy (or at least tolerable) if something like the Infernal Pact from Spirit mod was in the vanilla game.
Playing with zero defense probably doesn't feel much different from a typical mage or summoner playthrough, honestly. Player is made of wet tissue paper either way.
this is a challenge? this is unironically how i play modded, i never go for any defensive stats if damage stats are available, no need for tanking when everything dies before i can
@@sorbetcafe i do get some assorted defense from armor but not enough to actually do anything in combat, ill still die in the same number of hits most of the time
Using another pre plantera weapon would've given him defense against chat's comments and defense is banned, which is why he continued to use Phoenix Blaster
As someone with more than 3k hours in this game i admire your passion for the game and mechanics... but also, you must be a masoch*st! This and the cooper shortsword challenge, i cannot see any other explanation haha
Well this and that are different because in that one defense doesn't matter. In this one defense isn't allowed at all, meaning nothing that gives other stats or has other uses is allowed if it gives defense, so no pre-hm dash thanks to SoC giving 2 defense, no stat boosts from armor because there are only like 2 pieces of armor that don't give defense iirc (amethyst robe and wooden greaves), and no kb resist (which sorbet points out multiple times in the vid)
Knockback in Terraria would be a lot better if it just reduced your movement, instead of just completely stopping your momentum and pushing you in a different direction.
Bubble Gun is surprisingly powerful if you get it early. It's mana usage rate is so ludicrously low, even with taking firerate into account, that you don't really have a problem of running out of mana to use the thing. The only major drawback is range, for it is not great at all. It more than makes up for it by bubbles persisting for some while, and good damage.
This video is more a guide to spirituality rather than a challenge video. Trash anything that bears any material value, treasure those which have spiritual value (phoenix blaster).
