I've always enjoyed playing Eddy Gordo over the years so when he finally released as DLC for TEKKEN 8 I was happy to grind him out in Ranked Battle Online. I became the first God of Destruction Rank in America with him and ended up at rank 1 on the worldwide leaderboards after a couple days of play and about 140 matches. But of course online doesn't really mean much when it comes to determining who the best really is. But it's still something cool and fun worth mentioning. Enjoy the videos of my Eddy Gordo adventures!

Hey Anakin great Vid as always, but maybe it would be good if you turn down the game volume a tiny bit and at the same time turn up your mic a little bit, sometimes its a bit hard to understand some of the things you say because the game is just louder sometimes.

What's crazy is Anakin isn't even doing max damage combos, he is doing very mediocre ones. It just shows you how good his fundamentals are, and learning combos should be 2nd to having great fundamentals.

True! The difference between having a good combo and a max damage combo is just a matter of a few damage points usually. But if you miss punishes, don’t duck strings or pressure your opponent enough then you leave much more damage on the table to be had. Also, if you’re one of those people who go for max damage high difficulty combo and drop them occasionally, you end up losing out on more damage in the long run anyways.

@@TkAnakin Such a great point. Even if you hit a 70 damage combo 95% of the time, a 67 damage combo you hit 100% of the time will have higher expected value and do more damage over time. You're much more likely to lose a round from dropping a combo than you are from getting 3 less damage.

it's called the scrubification of tekken , this is a dumb in your face mechanic so you're going to eat rage arts regardless of how good you are, contrary to what some morons say on forums that if you eat ragearts it means you suck at the game

@@Stompnado so no I don't necessarily think it's scrubification because this is such an offense heavy game and u only have a few defensive tools so I think the current state of rage arts is fine because it's such a good defensive option in an offense heavy game

@@Stompnado If you see them in RA, bait them out of it. Rushing them or throwing 1 for the frame speed helps sometimes. When they are coming off the ground a good rush close then quick guard sometimes get them out of their element. It's just something you have to look out for, once you are good at it, 95% wont touch you/

@antagonist7 not exactly when it comes to Tekken.. like Eddy is a true 50/50 character because his stuff leads to launch. Guess wrong either way you're going up. Paul is a 50/50 when it comes to his crouch dash you'll either get deathfist'd or demo man.. both of those moves don't lead to a launch like Eddy or Xiaoyu does at times. But I'm talking in terms of tekken 7 and not this "aggressive" t8 bs
