As a former biker (I am now over 85 years old) I would like to point out several mistakes you made: first, you should have worn a helmet ALL the time while cycling. Next, you should have worn llight colored clothing (one of those orange or yellow reflective vests would have been ideal). You should have planned your route for overnight location stops ( in this day and age a cellphone App with Google maps would have been very handy). Next, a waterproof poncho that fits over your entire body, including protecting your hands over the handlebars is a must for a cross country ride. I did a 4-country solo bike ride in Europe back in 1974 riding my Nishiki 10-speed , using a special poncho and never had a problem with getting wet And believe me I encountered some wind driven rainy weather in England. Never had a flat tire either. I am curious about your eBike charging: I am guessing your throttle only mileage would have gotten you maybe 30 miles so you must have pedaled most of the time and conserved your battery for those hill grades .
This has to be one of the most underrated channels on RU-vid. He makes such high quality videos putting hours upon hours into his videos, and sometimes even risks his life.
I like how you went on about your dads bad bike crash and then proceeded to film you guys riding bikes across the country with no helmets the whole time until the last day when you saw your dad, then you put on helmets.
I really would like to. But I would like some content to be posted due to safety lessons riding on the road with these bikes because I’m in hartsville sc rn.
@@eranadheera9565 how tf is this a hater it’s either fake or real and I’m on the fake side a bit but a opinion like this is not hating it’s literally just facts
Surprised the video isn't much longer. As much as I love Chay, idk the chance of everything past Texas being real or faked on camera since 70% was focused on 2 states and the rest cut and pasted for the last 2 minutes. Definitely never doubted any of your other ones, but this one was a bit suspicious, tho very heartwarming for your father!
I agree, also their pace, and the bikes being so clean in most of the shots is very suspicious. Riding 200+ miles on an E-bike is almost undoable especially after already riding 1000 miles.
@@Austin_Boath who asked? and we think its fake because the amount terrain mountains and weather they had to go through feels unbelievable and they only included 10 minutes. plus cycling THAT long will for sure get you sick..
Chay, your channel can seriously be unbelievably successful. I’m talking 10M+ subscribers! Please be more consistent, I know you have tons of video ideas, maybe you’re worried they won’t do well, but the truth is you never know! Don’t leave us hanging! So many of your fans myself included look forward to your content. ❤️
Wish this adventure video was a big longer, as it was enjoyable to watch. Also, as someone who lost their dad in the last couple years, glad you got to do this for your dad.
the relationship chay has with his bro is seriously something else man. i know their dad must've been super proud after getting the bike and hearing the story of how it got there.
This video was a little bit confusing for me, so much left out and so many questioned left un-awnsered. 1: What was the charging routine like? they took a ebike so im interested in how often they had to stop. 2: around 70% of the vid was focused on 2 states and thats a MASSIVE journey 3: the route shown on the map would of been extremely difficult to bike the entire way, not to mention needing to charge once again- and none of this process was shown. chay replied to a comment or two saying they just had to cut alot of footage out, but idk I dont really buy it. You think for sure you'd have a quick compilation/film every time you crossed state lines.
Chay, this is one of the best videos you've ever made. As a new Dad, it means the world to see two sons that would bike across the country and go through the hardships you did. I lost my Dad when I was in my 20's, and would love to have the opportunity to do something like this for him if he were still here. Keep doing what you do, brother. I check your channel all the time for new updates and I appreciate the authenticity and love you bring to RU-vid.
This video was a little bit confusing for me. So much left out, and so many questioned left un-answered. 😒 The reason I subscribed to Chay in the first place was because of the extreme transparency and the dedication to making extreme titled videos like this *actually real* So many youtubers make content like this video where they have a massive claim in the title; but then just drive around shooting b-roll for awhile and finish/fake the rest of the storytelling in post with commentary... 1: What was the charging routine like? they took a *sponsored ebike* so im interested in how often they had to stop. 2: Around 70% of the vid was focused on 2 states and this title claims a MASSIVE journey 3: The route shown on the map would of been extremely difficult to bike the entire way, not to mention needing to charge once again- and none of this process was shown... chay replied to a comment or two saying how they just had to cut a lot of footage out, but idk I don't really buy it. You think for sure you'd have a quick compilation/film every time you made a big achievement like crossing state lines. obv this is just my opinion and I dont mean to ramble lmao, but I REALLY hope chay isint finding out its so much easier to just stage videos in post like every other youtuber. This video had SO much missing information for such a big claim, and thats why I think it only got 88k views in 2 weeks aswell ☠
Just something about having a *sponsored video* with a description saying "The bikes we used to go across the country ⬇⬇" when there's little to no concrete evidence that you guys actually did that rubs me the wrong way lol. Pretty weird look for you and juiced bikes
@@duffsnikk If this comment gets any more traction im SURE chay will delete it. I just hope he sees his real fan’s criticism and doesn’t continue to go down this road of faking content on-top of false advertising to all of us
This is clearly fake, and not even in a fun way. Every state sign is a major interstate highway (where it’s illegal to ride a bike), your map route doesn’t line up with what you drove and 90% of the trip is in a 1 minute montage. Why do you try to lie to people like this?
Just finished it and just wanted to say WOW.. this video is amazing. The perseverance you guys had despite your hard circumstances and what seemed to be many shortcomings genuinely gives me motivation. Man so good.
You’re a beast man. I still remember when you had like 15k subs. Seems like it was just yesterday. You deserve all of them for the work you put in. Keep it up man!
Your channel is crazy!!!🎉🎉 I literally like your videos style so much and seeing your character development and your personality in these videos is awesome!
I remember when I first subscribed to your channel when you were only around 800 subscribers and it’s crazy to see where you’ve come. Keep up the good work
This algorithm isn't working. Your channel is inspiring, creative and well-produced. This video had me floored. I'm absolutely impressed. Very glad you all made it home safely. Thanks for producing the content you do! Happy to be along for the ride!
Hey dude I think I saw you at some point crossing through arkansas. I have the same electric bike as your friend that juiced rip current s. I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your dad because I can relate too a few months ago I was hit just going to work on the same bikes featured in your video and miraculous i only walked away unscathed with just a few scrapes and bruises i recovered in about a week. But that besides the point. Love the bike, your tenacity, and these videos keep us the awesome work.
Wow this is mind blowing. I’m thankful you all made it there in one piece. As a woman I am sore in those areas you don’t want to be sore in after a 14 mile bike ride. I haven’t ridden in many years and getting back into it and hoping bike shorts with pads will help. I can’t begin to imagine riding that far!
other people have done it. there is a small channel i sub Biking with Brian. He lives in the Chicago area and he e-biked all the way to denver co in 11 days about 2 years ago. it was 11 miles. I do find it difficult to believe these two had a 200 mile day. its possible mind you, but improbable. they would have needed many batteries / charges to do it. brian i think did 117 miles in one day, his bike has a 50amp 52v battery and he has to stop every few hours and juice it up a bit.
Really wish this video was longer/cut into more parts. The video feels like it excludes important legs of your journey. I personally enjoy bingeing journey/adventure youtube series. However, the editing was great and it's one of my favorites from your channel. Keep up the good work.
Let’s go new President Chay video. I know how much you care about your channel and the amount of reach you do on RU-vid in general because I remember you talking about it on your second channel im pretty sure. Keep it up man. I’ve been here since 60k and always loved to see your channel grow. I remember telling my friend like years/months ago when you first started specifically that your going to be the next Mr Beast.
Dude ever since I started watching you you have been my favorite youtube don’t know how you don’t have 10 million this is hands down the best content on RU-vid can’t wait for the next video
Found you channel through seeing your vid about the camper being pulled by a bike and have been watching some of your vids and i love them so far! subscribing to see more vids in the future! :)
This video was like a mini episode from a show and you guys killed it! It's so crazy to see you guys went through so many obstacles but at the end it was amazing because your dad got his present 🙌🏼
@@AskRemy Up to 25 years, doesn’t mean someone will get 25 years. Arizona has been facing a problem for a long time, I know it sounds silly, people cutting down cacti and shipping them off to other countries for a profit as the cacti in Arizona are native to the land and not found in other countries. You can cut down a cactus on your property with a permit though.
There’s a unique tree that grows here as well called desert ironwood that live 1500 years and after they die continue to stand dead for 1-2000 years due to its incredible rot resistance. The wood is one of the hardest species on the planet. It’s black, yellow and brown in color and sinks in water.
Very interesting video 👍 I've had to cycle through the night waiting for every hour to pass, alone, no visibility just the bright screen of Google maps to reassure. Then the morning comes as usual. Huge storms have soaked me then I dry off. Every cloud passes, every high and low. Bicycle touring is the best.
I saw your Instagram story, so just sharing this here as well just to get it out on some things that maybe could be slightly better (although it’s made really well!!❤️) Love the effort into your videos!! I think the idea of the thumbnail is good, but possibly the background is too busy, it’s hard to focus on what your conveying. It’s not bad though, but possibly maybe do a closer up of just one bike (just an idea), but the California *arrow* to Carolina I think is really good!! The action grab in the first 10ish seconds is really good!! Also the sponsor was really well fit in!! It wasn’t annoying, but a good way to include it!! You made a great video!! Although possibly it’s not preforming as well, due to your upload schedule. You did great though, keep it up!!❤️
Its crazy that way more people are not saying this video is staged, its obv fake. they didint talk about charging or bike repairs once for a journey that long LMAOOOO yeah RIGHT dude
W video i love how they get RIGHT into it. I watched This on my second Monitor while playing Minecraft Got the most out of it and Found it Amazing he worked hard and got what he worked for
Found your channel last night and honestly bro you deserve SOOOOOO many more subs. I will be binging your channel with my bro and hopefully I can make content like yours one day
this is one of the coolest videos ive seen this year, i have the step through version with the fat tires, hopefully i get to do something similar at some point
