I decided to bleach my hair after putting it out there and receiving encouragement from the youtube community.
I planned to bleach in a skunk stripe or money piece, and was aiming for a pure white. Needless to say, I didn't get the result I was hoping for. Bleach FAIL! Oh well, maybe ‪@BradMondo‬ will use my video one day. Make it worth something...
There was drama, there was yellow, orange, red and everything in between! I ended up with a result I'm happy with, but something tells me it's not over yet!

It looks really great! As someone who started to battle the grey hair at 16 (and ultimately admitted defeat at 26, YEARS before it became popular), I'll never get why people dye to white/grey on purpose 😅 (The good news is now i no longer get the shocked looks when people see my grey hair, or disappointed looks from the hairdresser. Now people actually ask me how much I paid for it... So there's that...) Embrace your black hair and celebrate it while you can!

I think the grass is always greener on the other side. I love the look of gray/white hair. I have always said once I start seeing salt & pepper, I'm just going to embrace it and do the all-over gray. I think it looks so classy!

Thanks😁 I don't know if the bleach bath will do much if full bleach with 40 vol for 40 minutes didn't lift enough. I'll just have to give my hair a break and go in with another round of bleach later.

Thank you! I like to keep it short so its easier to style. Every now and then I wear it as-is, but I have a closet full of hair pieces and extensions in all lengths and textures just because I like to change it up constantly and don't want to put my real hair through all of that.

It’s really important to get a clean level 10 to take paper thin sections especially with the color of your hair. When you take thick sections even with proper saturation the inside of the hair section always processes more than the outside due to the thicker sections.

I had blonde striped strands of bangs hair peices my senior year with toned to white like rogue from X-Men but it did honey colored instead. I would go all blonde but Somehow I'm reminded of the beauty school dropout scene from Grease where frenchy dyes her red hair blonde and it turns pink. So bleaching at home you are brave. It looks amazing but the thumbnail doesn't do it justice. My OC has black hair with red chunky bangs like that as well so I say if you don't like the bleach dye it red.

I'm going to give it a break and try to go lighter later, but I'm sure once I'm over it and want to go back to black, I'm going to do some fun colors with it first. Hahaha.

I'm curious if you've ever come across a hair type that you legitimately can't get to a level 10 or even 9? I was very shocked that I wasn't able to get lighter with a 40 vol developer. I decided to do a second bleaching about a week ago. Again, tiny sections, heavy saturation, foils, and 40 vol and no joke... It is not lighter AT ALL. Like my hair refuses to go platinum. Worst part was after that second round, I have a bit of breakage, and not even where the hair was lightest... more like midstrand. I'm at a loss.

My hair is so ridiculously fine that it ends up looking greasy a few hours after washing 😂😂 Luckily, although disappointing, when hair things don’t work out the way you want, it can always be sorted in some way or another.
