Each thing in Fix Price is good in itself. Stylish, looks neat, does its job. However, completely different items can be combined together and adapted to your interior. Somewhere cut, saw, re-glue, paint or add and you get something new,
unusual, original.
This time a duck for a pond for 59 rubles caught my attention. Small, light, vintage, I can just see it floating in the pond. I bought it for myself, but not for water.
Also for my idea I need a small hanger with 2-3 hooks. Last time I saw it, there were many, different types. But this time there are only these with 5 hooks, there’s nothing to do, I bought one, I’ll just make it smaller.
I have long noticed that hangers are a strategic product in Fix Price; they sell out like hot cakes. How many times have I seen beautiful hangers in the store, but kept postponing the purchase, as soon as I needed it, it was not on sale. At least take it and store it at home in advance.
In the barn, in a bag with bottles and jars, I found an oval ice cream lid.
These are the main items for my idea. I will make a towel rack for the kitchen.
1) First, I sawed the duck into two parts; it was made of plastic, so it was not difficult to do. I used a hacksaw for metal. We must try to ensure that the sleep is even.
2) I glued one half of the duck onto the lid using Moment glue. I had to fiddle around to remove the label.
3) The duck is designed for water, so the bottom part is missing. I corrected this with the help of modeling paste (sold in office supply stores, but you can make it yourself; there are many recipes on the Internet).
4) I molded the missing part and “drew” feathers.
5) While everything was drying, my husband reduced the hanger to 3 hooks.
6) Paint the dried blank with white acrylic paint in 3 layers. I glued cardboard to the back side.
7) I decided to paint the edge of the lid with light green paint, it became much better, as if an outline appeared.
8) Now aging - with brown wax, slightly pressing, I rubbed the duck and all the white places on all sides.
9) I glued the hooks with hot glue.
This hanger will look good in the kitchen for towels, in the hallway as a key holder, or in the nursery for things.
