I put “air ride” on my beetle using a truck leveling kit. Has a compressor you mount to the frame of the truck and it has an app for the phone. Monroe air shocks and it was a wrap. Lol quick and easy

It looks great, and has potential but it would take a ton of stuff, and a lot more labor to get everything sorted. I would rather have a reliable car that drives great and looks like sh1t than a car that looks great but gets outrun by a moped when it actually runs. Either way, I enjoyed the start to finish video of the build and think it turned out good considering the budget and parts options you had.

Kepp it, stay aircooled, throw a 2146 in it with twin t25 turbos pulling twin 44mm weber through them. That could make close to 500 wheel and would be insane. How much does it weight?

The suspension using torsion bars is the one used in all the beetles made in Brazil. As long as you keep on pumping grease (there are nipples for greasing) into the packing tube, they will last forever, replacing only shock absorbers every 100,000 miles or so. The floor panels are sold as a set, both sides, they even come with the seat brackets. The only thing to be careful is cutting the center floor “tube”, since the electric harness, fuel line and gear selector go inside it. Some guys in Brazil, actually make “sleepers”, switching the VW engine for the Porsche engine, and street racing for money. Great work dude.

I don't think that I have ever seen a porsche with volk te37s yet. It actually looks good, but the te37v would have been a lot more Era correct.

For future reference most states have a lenience policy for mechanics and people working on cars. You’re allowed to drive them within a certain distance of the shop/house without any paperwork while you’re working on them.

Imagine going to the local Porsche Cars & Coffee in this thing & watching all the snobs pick it apart. I got rid of my Porsche a few years ago & those Porsche people are a bunch of jerks. The funny thing is it would get more attention than the $200k Porsche at the meet.

I had a 78 924, that I put a super Beatle rear end and a 120 volt dc motor in. I balanced 14 6 pack deep cycle batteries across the front and rear. Dynoed 750 ft/lbs @ 17,000 rpms. The rear end held up, for about a month. So I pulled all the home made ev shit, and hit it with a sub frame and a 327 ss with a power glide. Whatever rear end I could find, 3 times. Made a drift car. Before I started any of it, I took it down to steel, and never put a drop of paint on it. One bucket seat, a cage, and milk crate(for anyone that wanted a ride). A bar, no dash. Old Porsches make Hella fun rat rod/ light weight, fun as shit cars. Thanks for the content.

Great project, but if possible, change the headlight bezels/lamp rings, to European style ones. The US-Style bezels looks absolutely 😵‍💫🤢😵🤮, and give the 930/934 Style such a clumsy appearance; believe me.... But all in all, carry on 👍

Ah, now things make more sense. It's a fiberglass racing body, so it can't be a unibody design like the actual 911 were, hence the need for a custom chassis. I was very confused for a moment there.

It is astonishing what can be made legal in the USA. I would be driving a car of my dreams and it wouldn't even register on my bank account. In European countries this cannot be legal and car as sad as Cayman 2 liter costs $100K.
