Yes...He can have a "More Auto Auctions Rebuild" like Doug DeMuro and use it to feature just one specific build like this one. I love ya Randy but your content is constantly changing and there is rarely a focus on a build that is a teachable moment for your audience. The Copart Walk arounds are your bread and butter and I love those...Then we get to see what you win....Love those too....Then we dip in to your hellcat and corvette...love those all day long. This channels format is no place to show us a car of this caliber only to forget it weeks later. Thats unforgivable. Make a new channel and take turns recording content for each with the focus on your bread and butter copart walk arounds....The new channel is slower pace but focused solely on a build. I would watch these all day long every day like I already do! Just dont let that '59 fade away...

Chrysler’s first V8 engine was the “dual rocker,” now known as the original Hemi. Developed from Chrysler’s aviation research, the efficient powerhouse had roughly hemispherical heads, opposing valves, and a complex valvetrain that used dual rocker arm shafts for each cylinder. The 326 was launched in 1959. Its actual piston displacement is 325.2 cu in (5.3 L) but it was marketed as a 326 to avoid confusion with the Dodge Red Ram 325 (hemi). 1959 was the only year for the Dodge 326 polyspherical engine. Dubbed the “poly” (due to its polyspherical heads) or “semi-hemi,” the new design had rounded, circular combustion chambers, like the Hemi; but they only had one rocker arm shaft, instead of the Hemi’s two. To make the change, they put the intake valves on the top of the rocker arm and the exhaust valves on the bottom. The results were lower cost, less weight, and higher production; the cost was a slight loss of efficiency. (allpar.com) Also, the the two speed automatic Chrysler used was a Power-Flite not a Turboglide.

Be careful when you see vaporized fuel when working on cars. Any small spark can cause the ignition of all gas vapor and liquid gas in the area. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby with the pin pulled. I used the flipper hubcaps from the deluxe model of this year on my dad's 1954 Ford pickup. In your climate vaporized fuel when ignited can reach out and get you at a further distance than you might think. My family owned a 1956 4 door three tone paint. White top, charcoal center and coral bottom. Your best choice for paint is the stock color for a restored survivor driver.

The 59 Dodge 326 engine was the beginning of the across the board "one for all" corporate engines...its a Plymouth based 318 etc...to distinguish between Dodge engines and Plymouth...just look at the thermostat housing...Dodge were always in the cross over water pump housing...where as Plymouth were always in the intake manifolds....watching the video...you have a 5 button shifter...so it has a 3spd Torqueflite...not a 2 spd Powerflite

Looks like a real survivor, frankly if it has solid rocker panels, a floor inside and a solid trunk floor it’s worth every penny of four grand - that’s about what it would have cost new so hows that for a lack of depreciation! Exactly, Wade. This car deserves a proper paint job. No patina, no Maaco crap paint. A quality paint job is in order in the original colors.

Set the Gap spot on,.Release distributor base plate enough to twist, get someone to hold starter on and rotate the whole unit til its firing perfectly. Old trick Grand Pappy taught me. Most interesting Ride you ever bought imo.

If it's the original trans I do not think it's a powerglide. All my knowledge and research indicate that the Powerglide is a GM only trans.

Yes as I thought this would have a Torque Flight 3-Speed.

This particular version would be called the PowerFlite, which would be a push button controlled transmission.

$4000 was a great deal! As complete as that is even down to the factory A/C. Awesome!

I did not look at every comment, but you are the first to point out that this is a factory air conditioned car. Unusual for a Coronet series Dodge, but a lot of buyers ordered air in lower trim series to help offset the price of the air conditioning.

Coldwarmotors in Canada loves all of these old Chrysler products and does beautiful restoration work on some. He has a yard full of these old cars, and he puts out one video on Saturday afternoons I think you would enjoy. He's a wealth of information and talent.Give him a look.

@@AutoAuctionRebuilds by the way Sir,,, so you know,, you can pull that point style Distributor and replace it with one from any 318 or 360 (even 340's),, and then you're good to go with the 72-80 electronic ignition system you find in any shortbed pickup from those years.

@@AutoAuctionRebuilds Hey, on that same subject,,, the architecture of that engine is the same as a Polyspheric 318, so, the two barrels off the 318's will fit it. If you look in the right places,, there were 4 barrel intakes made for those engines in the 80's and 90's by Weiand. They were sold by Jegs and Summit and P.A.W.

This car is equipped with a 3-speed Torque-Flight transmission. The Power-Flight 2-speed only had 4 push buttons on the dash (R-N-D top row, L on bottom). The Torque-Flight 3-speed has 5 buttons on the dash (R-N-D top row, 1-2 on bottom row). In the early 60s, a lever was added to engage the Park notch.
