Great little cars. Had one for 15 years without any trouble at all. It never needed anything as it never went wrong. Just regular servicing and consumables. Mine had air conditioning. That air con was ice cold for the 15 years I had it. Just so reliable. These cars sit so well on the road. Stable as anything. Good video, thank you.
The dynamics of these Micras were fantastic. They had the nicest gearchange, great steering in PAS and manual form, well laid out dash, good buuld quality and the twin cam 16v 1.0 made the Ford and Vauxhall equivalents look ferociously outdated. One of the best super minis of all time. Oh and the early 1.3 Super S was incredible fun. Booked at 75bhp but they were clearly a good bit more. Would love a go in one of those again! Great purchase there, John.
I have owned two K11 Nissan Micras (Back in the day) I am NOT joking ..These cars are superb... Hardly surprising these were voted Car of the Year 1993... My only little gripe the 1.0 Litre engine was a tad underpowered. Other than that these are superb little cars... Nissan Micra K11 = Diamond
What a beautiful little Micra, you are one jammie git Mr C! Colour is A1 as is condition. I'd keep that for Sunday runs and for summer shows, just enjoy it. I'd love one but due to spinal problems from a rear ending years ago I'd be better with CVT and they are even more rare than the hens tooth you have found. Nice Proton would be in my sights too.
Owned two K11 Micra's in my time both 1 litre and good for 80mph in third which is impressive. Smooth ride and no rattles or bangs and not a noisy engine far from it, fuel economy was excellent on a long run I achieved 52mpg short runs around 40-42mpg. They were over engineered you would have a tough time breaking the engine on one of these, I had a K10 which did 176000 miles when I did a part Ex, dealer could not believe the mileage and the only thing that let it down was a very worn drivers seat. I could go on, needless to say you cannot better these. Great video.
A rather nice clean example, but all that jazz for nothing special. Hopefully you enjoy driving it times to times rather than keeping it under a "carcoon".
I have such a soft spot for the K11 my first car was a S reg 1.3 SI K11 loved that little car, my god it body work was battered but the engine was solid. I still miss that little car
Remember my former father in law had a K10 for donkies years - bought new and kept until it was frayed net curtains but it was loved. In the village where I live there are 3 or 4 K11's still doing the rounds with owners/drivers of a predictable age. Son tells me they are becoming sought after now though as they are peppy cheap to run and insurable for twenty somethings
Thankyou for sharing, Great find & what an original car, well worth preserving. Under bonnet condition suggests it has never seen winter road salt. I serviced afew family members Micra’s back in the day, reliable & economical & tough little cars
There is a China Blue example on my channel which has 13,000 miles on the clock which will be for sale soon. Sadly I'll be marketing it priced as a collectable item and not a first time car. Good luck with the hunt
Favourites of this video "Dragon Nostrils!" also did anyone else feel the pain when the mark on the roof was discovered? It did feel like there might be tears behind the camera. Here's hoping you talk about Mrs Jon Coupland the way you talk about that Micra!
To all K11 owners, what is special about the car? I have a 2001 5 door 1L, and I love the old school feeling of the car, the engine sound while driving and the handling.
Wow lovely looking car, Love the body colour too, I have done some work on a December 1999 "W" reg, quick under body clean up, and detailing that you or other might like to see, (on my channel) that car is a silver Automatic, K11 1.0cc Profile model, and has the problem you pointed out with the screen rubber trims shrinking, (Anyone know where a new one and the center trim clip can be bought from?), also the front screen, side one on the O/S "A" post has shrunk a bit too!, it has after market wheel trims on it I think, and usual repair plates on rear of sills, and two on front cross member, in it's life, but otherwise a very clean tidy one, (not as good as yours, but owner is looking to get it back to perfect, so looking for new parts as mentioned above. and also a new rear roof mounted ariel rubber boot, as original has shrunk and cracked with age. so let me know if there is a classic car parts stockist of genuine new old stock Nissan parts, (I am into Classic Ford Cortina's so only know ford parts guys. thanks. and it was not too long a video, with a car this good as yours it could never be to long to look at it she is beautiful.
Snap I also bought a 99 K11 5 years ago for €1300 and put it away for long term storage starting it monthly .to bring to car shows in about 10years ....I drive a 2000 micra as a daily driver...bulletproof. have it since 2002 .... do you mind me asking how much did you pay for that beauty....Robert Dublin
Very Nice. I have a 02 k11 had 49.5k when i got it. You mentioned some were assembled in Scandinavia ? I thought that all the European models were made in Sunderland ? How can i tell where mine is from do you know ?
I just got this exact micra in dark green as my first car!! it had been with the same owner since new and he has looked after it so incredibly well its in perfect condition and its never had anything wrong with it, got it for £950 too!! just wondering what tips you have for keeping it in good condition? I have no idea about cars and would love to keep it looking so shiny so any tips would be greatly appreciated x
Hi, how long did you have the red 'OMO' Micra? I ask because that car belonged to my neighbour in west Lancashire in the late 90's until around 2004. Couldn't believe it when you said the reg! Her name was Mrs Marriot, an elderly lady.
@@JonCoupland that’s good to hear. Btw, good to see someone else geeking out over the underground and station architecture. I went down the other week and rode all the lines and the Elizabeth line. It’s worth the trip
I love my v reg green profile also from glyn hopkin was my grandma’s then used by my parents now it is mine have spent 4 grand on it so far I will be having every little ding removed and re sprayed I have had to have it welded though drivers sill rear wheel arch and bumper supports though
