I'll just go ahead and officially address this here since the comments are already rolling in about car RU-vidrs who buy supercars. No, I'm not a supercar only channel now. My next few videos are on my Grand National, DSM builds, my $4,000, 200,000 mile Chevy Van, etc. I like a little bit of everything and fixing a broken supercar has always been on my list. So the channel is still the same, I won't be doing supercar rally videos or videos where I visit my friends house who just bought a new supercar so we can rev it and talk the entire time. I will always buy broken cool cars and have a blast bringing them back to life. Hope you guys enjoy the McLaren series and can't wait to show you the next video!

It would be my personal opinion that anyone who is concerned about Alex being a supercar channel after this video obviously has not seen any of his previous video's and his love for the GN, turbo T/A, etc, etc. Personally I am excited to see what Alex does with a Supercar as it just adds to the channel.

My only frustration with this channel is I have to wait for each upload. Love the content, love the camaraderie, but most of all, enjoying the ride!

As far as i am concerned, i don't care what car you get or work on, i come here for you and Peter, especially the drive it home adventures! Omg so many likes! More likes than uncle rich got!

You are killing it on content. This channel has shot to the top of my list with the GNx, the talon and now the broken Mclaren. Such good content.

You will also want to replace every coolant hose clamp. Do not use the OEM ones. Thorney motorsports sells a kit.

You have the ESG, external sound generator delete. There is a block off plate on the side of the intake. The ESG pipes intake noise into the cabin. There is a bladder in it that fails. Most just install the block off plate and delete the ESG.

Growing up I was never into supercars, but man the MP4-12C immediately grabbed my attention the first time I saw it as a concept. Since then it's been my only dream car, and I've become such a nerd about it I've memorized the reasoning for naming scheme. M = Mclaren, P4 = Project 4, 12 = Mclaren international performance index, C = carbon. Best of luck on the project!

I couldnt normally care less about supercars, but I'm hyped to see what you do with this. The exhaust and turbos sound AMAZING.

Based on the engine sound, it sounds like the OEM foam that lines the air filter boxes has been removed. You will want to check them. The foam breaks down and clogs the air filters.

Just something to consider on the fuel pressure code. Check the filter because if it’s plugged it causes the pump to work above the desired duty cycle

This is rad and lets be honest this is still an "attainable" dream car in some sense because its age and condition so not like you're suddenly the "BUYING A NEW FERRARI CASH *EMOTIONAL" channel. Very much look forward to seeing you wrench on it and the other cars in the fleet.

As a car enthusiast I can find something to like about almost every car…I have no desire to own a McLaren but it’s nice seeing you discover and enjoy it…I’m sure you will get some great content out of it and improve it before sending it down the road. Personally I’m looking forward to seeing the CTSV Wagon or more Caprice PPV content.

I personally drive a 2013 RS6, so I would love to see some (for you RS7) content in the future! Joke aside - it REALLY is not about what kind of car you guys bring on the channel. It can be broken up into a couple of short sentences 1. Knowledge (you guys share alot of knowledge. Well, if you decide that 615hp isn't enough, the Evo Motorsports MP4-12C turbo upgrade is an awesome route to have a good jump in power while spooling a little better than those stock turbos. It'll be interesting to see the fix and modding progression on this car alongside the DSMs.

The open pipe and connector in the engine bay are for the ISG. (intake sound generator) it has been removed you can see the blanking plate on the side of the manifold.

Absolutely love the content! Love the car. One thing McLaren's are notorious for is breaking alot but I think you guys can handle fixing it. This could be the most interesting series yet!

I Feel your pain with the check engine light. I Bought a 2007 high mileage CLS 500 sight unseen a month ago. Flew 700 kilometers to collect the car. Drove it home the same day. Only had a run flat and esp fault, noisy alternator and aircon compressor bearing. Once I got home all the codes started coming. Coil packs, plugs, cam shaft sensors, bad oil cooler was replaced.(All OE or Bosch parts) Now I have a cam intake solenoid bank one fault. Replaced it with a new one from the dealer, but the code keeps coming back. I Cannot get the vehicle to clear our roadworthy inspection with a check engine light on. I Wish I had a Alex and Peter to help with this. My first ever Mercedes Benz and she is fighting all the way. Thanks Alex for always telling us how good these cars are. I Should have stayed with my Audi's. 😀

My neighbor has one. He is retired neurosurgeon who never married. His home has been featured in a couple of architectural design magazines and is filled with modern art. He has a Lamborghini Aventador as well. He pulls both of them out onto his horseshoe driveway on nice days flanking the fountain and opens the doors. He then goes back into the house and you can see him adjust the blinds in the den and you can see him watching people walking by or slowing down while driving by to take pictures. Whenever he pulls them in or out of the garage he revs the crap out of them..

Hey Alex, I have an idea for you in regards to the crankshaft damper that you were showing with the springs in it. This may seem stupid, but take some urethane and fill in the area where the springs are at and let it sit overnight so that I can cure properly and then after you’ve done that get clear the codes and take her for a drive and see if it comes back I don’t think it will.

I prefer the older cheaper stuff, but it's cool to see what goes into maintaining one of these. Excited to see what you do with it!

One thing I’ve learned from having motorcycles is that you rotate the fuel pump handle vertical to prevent dripping gas on the paint lol…also I always point the handle at the ground and shake it before filling to prevent gas that’s sitting in there from dripping on the paint.

As long as the LSC concept stays the same it doesn’t matter what you get. But nice pickup definitely looking forward to more videos.

What I don't understand is how something like this can cost THIS MUCH and have THIS MANY miles and have SO MANY problems. Good luck and godspeed on your supercar adventure.
