I've been watching videos of people selling on cars in the UK. In the states, that car would go for £5 thousand. You would pay £350 for a bicycle from Walmart
I watch some US content and your so right, I guess a $1000 would buy you an old beat up 90s civic or corolla, many thanks for watching and comment, great to see my content not just being pick up just in the UK
Great channel this. Very educational. I kinda fantasise about being a part time car flipper and find this very helpful. Shows even the professionals find it a tough business! Plus the high overheads of running a workshop!
I have now watched all your videos, really enjoy them. You tell it how it is, no bullshit. Keep up the good work, subbed a few days ago. Can't wait for more content 👍👌
Hold on fella, from watching all of your videos almost, how the hell do you only have under 1k subs!? Your content is very very good quality, and deserves more, please keep these ones coming, they are very enjoyable!
Great vid & Twingo 2's are just very decent little cars. I guess much more reliable than the Smart, ehm, twingo 3. I own a Twingo 2 TCE GT for 4 years now and spent some money on it to keep it for years to come (circa 75K in miles on the clock). Remapped to 125BHP and 205Nm and it runs very well. Of course, quirky French electronics now and then (windows mostly) and the radiator/condensator needs replacement every couple of years because of all debris and stones that hit it. Your Twingo looks very stylish in grey, btw!
How safe and easy was the remap? I drive a mk2 myself and despite it having 95k miles and being an old shitbox lol, I've decided to keep it cause I'm finishing uni and theres no point in buying a car if in 2 years I find myself in another country. However, I have the standard na 76hp, I like it, but I need some more, around 90-100hp would suit me fine, gotta keep it safe too. So I wanna ask, how did you go about the remap? Do I have to find a specialised renault "remapper" or anyone can do it? Also is it worth it or will my engine go kaboom, considering we aren't talking about the most capable engine around.
@@grigorisgiannikos4999 you're not going to get an extra 15-25hp from just a remap on the NA 1.2 16v, more like 5-10hp taking it up to 80-85ish. but it should give an improvement in throttle response that would be more noticeable than any maximum power gain.
Thanks tony, I will keep them coming, should have another two more landing next week I am working on, (one of them old school) so keep an eye out. We have also just bought another qashqai so we may do another video on that to compare similar ages. Anyhow thanks for comment
@@lucythemoggy1970 Many thanks michael the back bone of this channel will be buying and selling and reviewing everyday cars as that's the field I have mostly been in.
Many thanks, trying to fire out at least one a week on the cheap cars but will try and throw some other content in as I grow the channel, thanks for the comment
Good value car Lee. Wished I lived local to you. I like the efforts you put in. I live in Northern Ireland and some of the sheisters over here are unbelievable and court action forget about and no bailiff enforcement either.
Hello Lee. Liking your vids. I've subscribed. Have to tell you this....I've just bought my dream car (black 2016 ST, 22,000k on the clock). You're so right when saying how small car prices are increasing. I've just part exchanged my Fiesta S on a 63 plate & 66,000k on the clock & get this......I bought the car from a private seller back in August 2019 for £4900, asking price of £5350 with approx 50,000k on the clock. Now, the forecourt where I bought the ST (only last week) offered me £4250 part exchange for my Fiesta S! I've since gone back to look & see on the forecourts website if they'd already put my Fiesta S up for sale & they had, asking price, what for it...........£6995!!!!! 🤯🤯🤯 Crazy or what...you tell me!?!? Keep the videos coming!
cars are dirt cheap in the uk though, must be because the left hand drive situation.. 2010 twingo with like 80k miles on there is about 4k euro in holland.. over there they cost about half..
Reminds me of my early days in a main dealership back in the day. My mentor asked me to do a handover of a Metro automatic on his day off. He told me to make sure the lady signed the extended warranty before she took the car away. It transpired that the car wouldn't engage reverse gear, and that it would have cost a bomb to put right, so we sold it as it was but with a free extended warranty instead. Funny thing was, she never ever came back to complain! No such thing as Karens in those days.
different world back then matt much easier punters, now they will return a car for the fag lighter not working 2 months later, saying the kids are traumatised and need a full refund 😁
@@carukchannel I wouldn't want to be in the car game now Lee. Back in the good old bad old days, people had more realistic expectations and understood that used cars can and will break, and that it isn't necessarily the fault of the guy you bought it from. Nowadays people are far too eager to complain and expect a ten year old car with 100k to be like new and faultlessly reliable. Then when the inevitable happens, they slag you off on antisocial media and expect you to be responsible for everything. So glad I got out when I did. Don't know how you do it, but you obviously enjoy it still. In my experience, people are either absolutely lovely, or absolutely awful. There's no middle ground these days.
Lee : Glad to see you are Human "S*** !", which is just part of the reason why I love to watch your RU-vid Channel / Content, just great viewing of you as an affable honest human being trying to make a living & to earn an honest crust ! Thank You ! "Keep It Up, Good Sir !" Roger 👍.
If it had been the engine I may of lost my sh@t, 😁 No to be fair at this sort of money we buy cars at you have to some times except you are going to loose on some. Its when dealing in the big expensive motors when things go wrong (which can happen alot) that stress can kick in. Thanks for watching
Great video. I've got a 2013 Twingo that I've had for 3 yrs and it's the best car I've ever had. I love it just as much as I did when I brought it. It's such a great little car and I can see myself keeping it for quite a long time.
Mrs has a 62 plate been reliable had it since it was 3 years old only issue was the horn not working easy fix though, drove it a few times I hate it haha
we never got the twingo 1 in the UK, but seen many outside the UK. Marco do you still see lots of Mk1 Fiat punto's in Italy still ? as the mk1 punto has all but vanished from our roads 😒
@@carukchannel in the north italy only very few Punto mk1 survive, sold for 4-500 euros on marketplace.. In the south, many more of them still survive, for daily use, and many other '80 and '90 's cars
Where you buy these cheap cars lol I’ve been looking for a car for like 3 months and finally found one at the right price! But back in 2020 I used to get cars for £150 - £250 I bought in 2020 BMW 320d - £150 FORD mondeo £250 Both cars had nothing wrong with them but car market is crazy right now people are overpricing
yes its very difficult currently, i have been doing this for so long you build up contacts, but even i am paying more for part xs alao price of scrap is putting cheapies up, you can scrap a car for over £300 now crazy really. some cheap buys there barz
@@carukchannel I know right! I also buy and sell cars but I recently sold my bmw 1 series full service history well looked after by me of course. And then it took me 3 months to buy a decent car. In the end I went for a Vauxhall Insignia 09 plate with full service history for £700 no warning lights no issues not been In any accidents etc
It's very hard plus scrap has gone up which don't help people just scrap them as they can't be bothered with the hassle selling them such a shame tho 😔😔😔
Hit a winner there, I think your bang on with your assumption of why that car was traded in. Possibly even the garage advising them to get rid since they might of thought it was a headache gearbox job!
car is finished and ready to mot, on sale it will be sold with 12 months mot. i have kept this one back along with some other cars for a inpending new car pitch opening soon, so its sort of been mothballed if you like
he owns his own garage/mot station, does this as a bit of a sideline using his own facilities... don't think it's unreasonable he doesn't assign labour hrs to costs in his round ups.
