Cam and crank LEDs are both inside the distributor on the HyperSpark and the Dual Sync distributors. They both use coil triggers for a crank sensor and an actual cam sensor in the dizzys. To run them return-less you just use a 60psi return-less-fuel system and block off the return port on the throttle body. I've done tons of them, only had two that had issues, one was a cut injector Oring, the other was a bad ECU. Holley took care of both under warranty. The Sniper and HyerSpark combo is the nicest most plug and play setup they have. DualSync requires a coil driver to be wired up as well.

I hope you put that, and a gen 3 LS ECU on a non LS engine, and compare the cost and hassle of each. And of course, mention the more cludgy but free gen 3 tuning options, like Universal Patcher with a $50 OBDLink SX.

I just installed the whole setup on my truck, coming from a fitech. And so far I’m happy with it. The only issue I see, it runs rough just at the crack o throttle. I have idle spark enabled an noticed it pulls timing till the tps is above 2%, to bring the idle down. I’m going to see if it better with idle sark disabled is better off idle.

Hopefully the 2 fixed the rfi issues. On my brothers 56 Chevy with a hot 400 sbc I went through 3 units from Holley on the first gen. Finally had to fab up an aluminum shield for the ecu and wrap all of the wires in the engine bay from the sniper with black foil. That fixed its issues. It would run fine then flash no data randomly. Die. Then key on and it would open the injectors wide open and flood the engine with fuel. After that system i would never touch another sniper system. His is running fine to this day but I’m waiting on the call.

have you looked at ACE's EFI? I've done several Terminators X setups and a couple Sniper 1's and I just got the ACE's EFI jackpot for my latest ls swap and man the hardware looks way nicer than holley for far less money!

I have a car with a solid roller setup the camshaft has a 106 lsa on it would a holley sniper or terminator stealth work on a setup like that 14:1 compression ratio also could it be tuned in your opinion to work with this setup thanks.

I don’t see why not. Sniper should work in place of any carb, it’s about as simple a fuel injection system you can get. I would just check your fuel-air flow requirements. Not sure what your displacement is.

@GoatRopeGarage the engine is a 396 chevy stroker I am increasing the compression ratio and getting a new camshaft and was looking into getting fuel injection maybe the holley terminator stealth because it looks like a carburetor, I am wondering if you do any in person tuning on something like this.

Why choose sniper efi over terminator stealth?

Cost is one, The terminator x stealth is basically double the cost. If you've got an old carbed vehicle and just want to rid of the carb, it's the cheapest way. If you have any thoughts of trans control or port injection in the future the extra up front cost will save you money in they long run.

Can’t wait to see how it goes. I can see the hatred and understand. Holley claims better IRF suppression with the 2 which seems to be one of the top issues.

This is going on a SBC. I honestly don’t know the terminator stealth was a thing. As cheap as port injection manifolds are for a sbc if I was thinking of going terminator I would switch to port injection.
