I bought a record collection and it was FULL of vinyl that should be staples in everyone's collection, plus a ton of rare and unique finds. In this video I'm highlighting some of the coolest finds. The collection belonged to a buddy of mine who is getting out of the vinyl game in favor of photography, and he has a very eclectic taste in music. In addition to the stuff I show you in this video, there's a few dozen black metal, doom metal, industrial and folk metal records that I can't wait to dive into.

A Love Supreme is the best of the haul. Stone Roses, Sticky Fingers, Low-Life, Pixies, Hum, White Stripes. Great stuff.

Somebody must have died and his parents wanted the records out of their house quickly. That's the only time I could see $30-$40 modern records getting sold for $1 each.

bauhaus is my all time favourite goth bands!! the first album you showed was "mask" their 2nd album. and press eject is a live album. My their 3 other main albums are just incredible! i hope you enjoy them!!

Very cool! What a nice pickup! Wrote some of the albums down and will check them out soon. Excited for you to try out the Love Supreme and maybe dive into jazz some more. If you want to try another Coltrane album, try Ballads. I really liked it and ordered the great sounding Analogue Productions reissue that came out a couple of weeks ago.

That Hum record is one of my all time favorites, haven't come across it in the wild yet, also the Sleep album is on on my list of wants. Lucky enough to see them a couple of years ago and they definitely didn't disappoint. Good Haul

Nice pickups with the Bauhaus. Re-issues of the Pixies LPs are relatively easy to get. I would say the original issue if Lowlife is my fave of this bunch.

I have a promotional copy of the Bauhaus "Mask" album given by a friend who worked at a radio station. Only played once at the station to record 1 single track for radio play, then straight to storage until they station was getting rid of all their vinyl to make room for CD's in 1990. Also i have the original UK pressing of Bauhaus "Press The Eject & Give Me The Tape" vinyl. The UK version came with bonus 7" live ep called "Satori In Paris" & a poster.

One thing i realized early in the collecting stuff in life. The chase and the surprise surpass the finds more than often and thats the fun of it. I fucking pray to fund little but great everytine i go hunt. Whats the fucking point and fun to go hunt and find 100s of it?! Even kids get that they always enjoy and master the few toys they own. If they have to many they don't use. Same as most record collectors. Most could never wristle all the songs in their collections. Not saying you are,,,so relax. But most are.

Violator was a pretence to DM's darkest... that comes with Songs of Faith and Devotion and Ultra when Dave was doing too much of the hard stuff ... Violator though is the must have. I have 3 copies and the latest 12" singles boxset from the album and remains my all-time favourite album of all time, ever and mostly likely forever 🙂

@@ke6533 Yes, there are 6 tracks in total you won't find on the album... Dangerous Sibeling Memphisto Kaleid Happiest Girl Sea of Sin And there are a total of 10 remixes featuring those tracks.

Stone Roses - a truly fantastic debut. Although it's considered a Mad-chester, Neo-UK psych, or a "Baggie" record instead of a Brit-pop one. It pre-dates Brit-pop by a few years. That Nick Cave is a great record, but ALL of Nick Cave's records are great, Nice one Matt.

Re. A Love Supreme an undoubted classic, but maybe a bit of an odd one if you're not that into jazz... a bit like starting listening to rock via Trout Mask Replica or something. Try something a bit lighter first... some Blue Note soul jazz stuff from the 60s maybe; Herbie Hancock, Donald Byrd, Lou Donaldson, Art Blakey whatever. Try Mingus Ah Um perhaps, or My Favourite Things and Giant Steps Coltrane wise. Get your ear in with something more melodic and accessible. I would think you can appreciate all this stuff as it's been sampled to death in hip hop.

Hey man, just a heads up: you want to keep the zipper on Sticky Fingers down. That way it's over the label not the grooves and won't damage the record or any that are stored next to it.

PSA!!! If you haven’t already, open the Led Zeppelin Boxset and remove the plastic inners!!! Hopefully, the person you bought them off of already did this, because they will damage your records! Theses plastic inners degrade over time and put an oily film on the record, ruining the sound.

It was my collection, not fake, I just had zero interest in selling off piece by piece, I offered the collection at that price up on the FB group about a month ago. Having moved the shit through three houses I've been over vinyl as a hobby for a long time. Time is more important than money to me these days.

If he had called a store i am prety sure they would have picked this up for a couple of thousands with no effort at all... so either a very philanthropic guy or you did some extras for him not mentioned in your video ...
