My name is Austin, this is Mopar Garage, and we build cool stuff in here! Today we are buying a new muscle car! Enter the 1973 Plymouth Satellite Plus! We'll see if we can tow it 300 miles home with an old lifted half ton. Then we will do a complete walk around and initial inspection!

Cool new project! I saw the wheels and tires video, but missed that this was on the channel, so I'm caught up now...lol

Thanks for following along! Excited about this one. Finally found a welder for the Daytona so that thing will be on 4 wheels again soon as well.

Love the truck a real gearbox. Had the same truck. 318 5 speed 4x4 3:55 long box. No problems towing. I did add helper springs. The 318 and 360 are balanced differently. You have to make sure you use the correct flex plate if you do a swap.

Nice car , had a 74 satellite 400 4 v auto , 323 posi gears , absolute nice highway car , not so good in the 1/4 mile . Over size tires on your truck is trouble in my opinion , i have been pull cars home with my little 300 5 speeds with 308 hi way gears , and it does quit well in the hills , well sometime i got to hit 3 gear and it will stay around 45 mph . I live in canada , lot’s of hills here too , well you got you’re self and nice car ! Well done , good luck

Nice! I wish this car had the 400 in it, but this 318 won’t be in here for too long. Thanks for watching!

Had a '73 Sebring Plus, blue with white vinyl top and blue nylon brocade interior! 318 was ok but, yeah, alittle doggy.

Sounds like a nearly identical car, aside from the color. We’ll enjoy the 318 for now, but there’s definitely something much more interesting coming down the road for this!

ya, those thing were total dogs, my dad had a 73, SE with a 318 and it topped out a little over 90mph when new. i think the speedometer went to 150mph . good looking cars though

This 318 won’t be in there for long! 150 HP in an almost 4,000 pound car is less than impressive 😂

I never cared for the 73-74 front ends on these. The quad headlights protruding out there, with the cut-in grille was just weird looking, compared to the excellent 71-72 Satellite and Roadrunner chrome loop bumper. It was obviously done to meet new bumper impact requirements. However the basic cars were great, and similar to the Coke bottle Chargers, from 71-74. I am wondering why this has wrinkle-wall racing tires and long lugs in the back. Was this being prepped as a race car?

I agree, like most mopars, the earlier in the decade, the better these looked. I don’t think it was being prepped, the owner basically only had these wheels on it to move it around. They’re too wide in the back and rub the leaf spring. Thanks for watching!

@@TheMoparGarage - I've got a few old Mopars; nothing earth-shaking. One is what some would call "Cool," the other 3 are interesting, but not many would consider them cool

@@olikat8 well, all that matters is if we think our own cars are cool! What do you have?

@@olikat8 well I think that’s a great fleet. I’ve always had a weird soft spot for those TC’s. I almost bought one a couple years back.
