I Bought a New Drake and Breeding Pens at the Amish Animal Auction!!! 

Hey Jordan I was always told those were Greyhound transport cages, I love them, wish I'd of 50 or a 100 years ago when I raised pigeons. They would be perfect breeder cages, put a sloped tin roof with feed sacks packed under the tin for insulation, as for preservative I think I would soak them with mineral oil. Love the auction videos!

Great video!! You should do a tour of all of your farm and like point and show us all the different breed’s of birds for instance like all the different kinds of turkeys you have.

funny fact back in the late 70s or early 80s ( cant remember exact year ) the city of charleston WV was overrun with pigeons some way the city of Atlanta found out about it and they wanted as many as charleston could send. Charleston spent several weeks catching them the final count was in the thousands and of course sent them to atlanta who proceeded to turn them loose downtown. long story short they almost beat the truck back to charleston.

Happy New Year, Jordan and family. A good look around the auction. Some nice pens and a nice looking muscovy drake, he should do your ducks some good. We hope there's some more goose hunting coming up. There's been no butchery for a long time we would love to see some. It looks like you've had some good trapping, sorry you've had no bell, hopefully will give you one soon! Only 27 days left on our season for ducks, geese and pheasants etc. We will try and pinpoint some out and hopefully get another shot at them. They haven't played well for us this season at all! Hey Jordan Sherwin Williams has a product called peel bond it is a primer but when it dries it forms a thick coating like Elmer's glue over the wood it really works great just a thought

Hi Jordan, for your new cages you could use a wood preserver or old engine oil to preserve your boards on your new cages.

I would recommend Marine grade plywood it lasted a really long time for me.

Maybe you could put some mesh or something instead of wood, it will make it so the droppings will fall down to the ground.

I have had good luck with garage floor sealants/paint. Not cheap. But effective. Just mix together poor in paint tray apply with paint roller . I prefer fome roller for this. Do in very well ventilation. It has a really strong chemical smell. Cover hole board all sides . Marry Christmas

One tom, to stand at stud, for each breed/color, and at least TWO in reserve! Keep breeders penned by color, regardless, and ''killers'' can free roam about. Keep up with your quality!! Use barn and fence paint from Home Depot it is made specifically for animals. Nice cages!!!

Nothing crazy, crazy.... just one seller. For the boards, use marine grade epoxy. It will seal the wood and make it water proof. Just scrape the chit off it then sand the wood smooth then apply the epoxy. You can get epoxy tinting if you want to color it or just use clear if you don't mind the look of the wood.
