This video was recorded, March 23rd. On the 24th I'll be riding allllllll day long on it trying to get that 600 miles so I can get the first service done and out of the way so I can rip on it!! I'll post up some pics and what not on my Instagram from today's journey and how many miles I put on it, etc. That's also the fastest way to get ahold of me, DM-ing me on Instagram :) instagram.com/motojitsuclub/
why did you get an mt 07 as your new track bike and not a full faired bike ? surely a sport bike would be a better track weapon (like an r6)because the ergos are more in-line with a race bike? ( just curious)

I love your style man! Within the first few minutes I knew you were a very sensible rider. You had a 300 track bike. Now a MT-07. You rode it in the parking lot to get comfy. Great review from the viewpoint of someone that just got one. Been enjoying the rest of your videos. They’re up,there with FortNine in terms of info shared. Can’t wait to see you build up the MT for track use. I’d bet some suspension mods would totally change this bike.
Welcome to the Mt family!! You've made a great choice!! Mto7 and the MTO 9 as far as I'm concerned are some of the greatest all around bikes made. Another great thing about making that a track bike is you won't have to tape off any of your lights it's all LED and it makes for great pictures out on the track.
I started following you months ago because of the advice and MotoJitsu drills. However, I do also really enjoy these types of videos (and the track ones as well). Keep up the great work :)
I have a '21 MT-07, and I still like to watch people ride theirs and review them. Fun bike, lots of fun and sexy AF. So far I got DPM windscreen, axle and frame sliders, dana air filter, full Akro carbon exhaust with the DB killer out sounds like a monster (must have). Congrats on the bike.
Nice, i own an Mt-07 (2019) and daamn this bike is awesome. After you put aftermarket exhaust on it, it will suprise you, how awesome it sounds. A lot of people in the street, with cars or bikers even with bigger machines appreciate the lovely sound of this little demon. Ride safe yall ✌
@@mindspinn311 wrong, very wrong, a tune is appreciated for maximizing performance gains but I do not understand why people think that bikes from 2008 are remotely comparable to 2020+ O2 sensor equipped bikes. The O2 sensor does everything to ensure fair adjustment to make the bike run at an adjusted and safe rate. A tune or flash is not required to run an aftermarket exhaust, yes that includes full systems.
@@charliebrown5660 Lol no. That’s not how any of this works. I work in the motorcycle industry and am familiar with modern motorcycle tuning. The stock O2 sensor and ecu isn’t capable of making that kind of wide adjustment on its own. It operates within narrow parameters. When airflow is changed that dramatically manual adjustments to the air/fuel ratio and other tuning needs to be done. I’m not going to sit here and debate with you, but you literally don’t know what you’re talking about and need to get better informed before making outlandish claims. Check out videos from Moore Mafia he’s a very knowledgeable modern motorcycle tuner. Or are you going to tell him his entire business is a lie?
@@charliebrown5660 Furthermore, I owned an FZ-07 with a full Yoshimura system and it was VERY lean on the stock tune. Maybe it was safe, but it was worse than the stock exhaust. A simple tune made a huge difference in every aspect. And considering how factory tunes are done for emissions, even a fully stock bike can benefit from ecu tuning.
@@mindspinn311 I did not negate that ecu flashing has an inherit performance gain, I actually stated it did, I have a Yamaha R7 with a full system R77 and it for sure runs lean. That doesn’t mean it will kill the bike like all others try to claim like oh my gosh a tune must be done within two weeks or your bike is done for, so ridiculous. I’m very familiar with Moore Mafia and he does great work but telling people they must do a tune following an exhaust is just incorrect information and pushes people away from getting one. Now with a high performance air filter added to the mix we have something to discuss but just because Euro5 sucks and the bike might run lean for emissions does not mean an O2 sensor is fully capable of adjusting to a safe air to fuel ratio.
I have watched a lot of your videos, I even have a document with over two pages of “how to ride” because I bought my first street bike after riding off-road for ages. I watched this Thursday night, funny, I was picking my bike from the dealership on Friday, and mine also had with 0mph (it made me smile remembering how lucky we both were)! Best wishes from Spain!
Congratulations on the new bike! I just bought my MT-03 about 6 months ago and watching your videos have helped me and even saved me from a few close calls! Keep producing the amazing content!
I brought home my brand new 2021 MT07 the same day you uploaded this! I've ridden a Benelli 135cc 3k miles last year to get started and I'm beyond thrilled to upgrade. Unfortunately the daytime temp in Indiana has been in the 40's so only have 1 mile on it but I can't wait for this summer. Congrats!
Most content creators on youtube when they make videos on getting a new moto the first thing they talk about its taking stickers out, changing exhaust, mirrors, tires, pimp my ride stuff etc. You went straight to figuring out the new cluch and breaks instead. MotoJitsu indeed, love your channel
Fantastic choice. Easy to wring the neck, forgiving, great low end torque spread, usable power for the track and overall a great bike for the track and road.
Grats! - I came back to Motorcycling after a 30year "break"; From Enduro Riding in the late 80´s to Adventure Bike Riding now on a Brand new Moto Guzzi V85TT.... and Lovin´it!
I picked mine up at the dealer last week. I go in and didn't see any on the sales floor, so I asked my guy if he had one. Turns out I got mine right out of the crate. Super excited to break the engine in and have fun. I know that feeling, and safe ride!
Congrats! I love my 20 MT-07 for all the same reasons you like yours. What I really like about it: A pure unadulterated moto experience with almost supermotoish ergo's, and a beefy midrange torque band.
Im surprised you didn't go for the R7. I personally own a 2021 mt-09. It puts a smile on my face every ride. All the fz/mt's are great. Hope you enjoy it!
I’ve had my 2021 MT-07 for 6mo. It’s my first bike. Loving every minute. Take the advanced MSF course next month. I have an akropovic titanium exhaust and it’s a boot burner. Better off with the carbon or something similar.
Congrats, brother. Great bike. I love Yamaha - even though I have just sold my R3 and bought a Transalp 700, which was my big trail dream - I would have liked very much to keep my R3, but alas, I can't maintain two bikes at the moment.
VERY HAPPY for you Greg... We can hear your excitement in your voice.. ZERO miles is a great thing for sure. And break in won't take you long. Fantastic bike Greg CONGRATS my friend!!
Congratulations on your new bike. I also have a MT-07. My top recommended mod is to change the throttle tube to a Yamaha R6 throttle tube and change the grips. The throttle tube made the bike easier to ride fast, mostly comfort and response. Also get R6 grips the genuine R6 tube has the grip on itso just get the other grip for the other side the best $40 ever spent. Another great mod is the Yamaha comfort seat. The 1st hour on the bike you will not notice the difference but do 4 hours and the comfort seat is amazing. Well worth the cash. Hope this helps and enjoy.
just found your channel great info from the few videos I've seen. I just picked up a 22 MT07 on March 25TH first bike ever and its been a blast to ride great beginner bike and I feel the bike as a ton left in it for me to grow and start pushing it in time as I get more comfortable riding
Really nice choice. Have the exact bike myself. Already have 75 miles done on the track. I have everything stock, besides the front forks being too soft, everything else seems OK for my use. Consider installing steel-braided brake lines
That’s awesome man! I got a 2016 fz07 for my first bike a couple months ago and have done some substantial mods to it performance and appearance-wise. Can’t wait to see how you transform it and ride it professionally
Nice bike dude! I got a 2021 MT03 September last year. It's my first bike. Your channel has been instrumental in my development as a rider. I'm thinking about making my MT03 my track bike once I get my next street bike. Looking forward to watching you develop with your MT!
Have a 2015 FZ07 that I bought , new. Not too long after, I fitted an Ohlins front end from Duc 1098s, Marvic magnesium wheels, Full Akra, flash, Penske rear shock. and Lithium battery, 385 Lbs with full tank.
Love it! Bought the same bike in February and just crossed 1,000 miles freezing my arse off on the East Coast been riding every chance I get in the 30-40 degree range. I did the opposite of what you did in that I went down from a Ninja 900 to the MT-07 because a friend loaned me his 2021 and I fell in love. Not to knock the Ninja, but the playfulness, the handling, and the torque makes it such a fun bike to play on in the Mountains. Tail of the dragon trip weekend before last was a far better run than any on the 9 because the bike will hang on the hairpins and exit out with such a burst with the light weight, too much fun! Looking forward to watching you progress on this bike, and so far as the haters on the looks, they are in the eye of the beholder and like you, I love the look of the front end, but to each their own. Thanks for the vid, gratz on the new ride, and as always, keep the rubber side down!
Thanks I just found your channel, I am transitioning from a CBR 300R to a CB 500X...did not think I needed to relearn everything...Thanks for providing the milestone proficiency checks.
Awesome!! I just sold my 2018 MT track bike. It was one of my best purchases even though the suspension is too soft. Such a sweet and characterful engine especially with the Akra on it.
Congrats with the new bike! I had an 07 from 2014 before my current bike (also an MT). It's a very nice bike indeed - especially when you put on an aftermarket exhaust. 😎
Congrats. Nice bike, nice color. Really like the naked approach. Funnest bikes for me have been the nakeds, and easiest to live with. No fairings to replace or remove. Handlebars maybe even a bit higher. Nothing in your sight line. Nothing to make you feel cramped in a tuck since you’re not racing. Looking forward to some track footage. Enjoy!
Man that new bike feeling 😁, nothing like it. I got my 21 Panigale V4 with 1 mile on it, broke it in at Indie Motorsports park - literally one of the best experiences of my life. Yamaha makes some awesome bikes and this one has peaked my interest. I rode a neighbors MT-07 and loved it. Good choice for the track. Congrats Dude!
Hopefully, in a few months I’ll have my license. Only done 400 miles on my 125 as a learner. Been watching ur vids for help. ´ push left go left / right go right has totally changed my riding so thanks . I’m either going to buy this MT07 or the Kawasaki z650 . I’m torn between the two and unfortunately I won’t be able to-test ride on a new licence ..
I have the 2021 MT 07, just got her 2nd service at 4K miles and running beautifully. Only my 2nd bike after upgrading from a ktm 390- it’s a blast, enjoy it! 😎
congratulations on the purchase of a motorcycle, great decision and let it serve with dignity, I bought a Honda CB650R for the first motorcycle, but even though the motorcycle is sensational and recently got new tires like in your motorcycle, there is still a lot of learning before me to be a better driver :D,
Yes! Perfect!! I have a z650 and really wanted to find you tracking something similar. So different to a ninja 400...or is it... Would love exact split-screen comparisons between a sport bike and the mt07 around corners and circuits.
I would have looked a lot harder at the MT-09 Way better suspension cast aluminum frame and a lot more power.. I also would have looked at the Indian FTR-1200 100 pounds heavier but very stable very good lean angle.. The MT-07 does have a some one limited lean angle do to the low ground clearance.. The FTR- really beats the Yamaha there. but I test road the model with 19" tires not with the 17" tires that have now excepting the rally Model .. I would prefer the 19" tires myself for the dirt road capability because I want to ride to Alaska ..
The R7 would be the best choice in every way for that use, better wind protection, better suspension, better ergos for track, bit more expensive, but made for the use you want it for
He doesn’t like that super sport seating position so that’s most likely why but I do agree when he gets everything the MT-07 needs he’ll probably be close to R7 price or passed it Edit: the MT-07 is still a great bike tho can’t really go wrong with either
@@mehai84bee I mean he already had a CBR, he maybe just wanted to try something different, and track riding doesn't always have to be about squeezing every millisecond you can, just go out there and enjoy it. Plus he will be street riding the MT which probably swayed his decision also.
Great bike. I’ve had my MT07 for about a year and love it more everyday. That CP2 is a blast. Was even scheduled to go to Champ school next month too! Unfortunately a hand injury delayed it until their June dates.
This bike is so beautiful, I've been looking at it over and over. I wonder if you could tour on it haha. Your normal content is indispensable but I like seeing this type of stuff from you too!
I did my "big bike" training and licence tests on an MT-07 - such an easy bike to get along with, I need to get on a track with my Street Triple at some point soon...
Can't wait to see you rip around the track on that. I've only been following you for a little while, but your content is always a good watch. Can't wait to have an mt 07 for my own.
I passed my test last year on a Yamaha MT-07. 4000 miles later and with a better idea of what I’m doing I’d like to ride one again, just to see what it really feels like when it’s opened up. The only thing I didn’t like when I was a learner was the position of the lcd panel: I had to keep moving my head to look down enough to see it.
That was my first motorcycle. When you started the engine, all the nostalgic memories came flooding back to me. 🤗 I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it! All the best ❤
I just bought the 2022 MT07Lams in Blue, as my 2nd learners bike today. Previously had the 2021 MT03 in black? I love Yamahas reliability, style and punch. Definitely going out to practice a little before I go too far.
I now have bike validation. Haha. Coming from a cruiser love at first ride. I was like wow so this is a real motorcycle? Love mine. All black is what made me want one but mine’s white w a round headlight and fairing it looks awesome. Love love love this bike. Best feature Everything on it actually works!
Great choice brother! I got the MT07 2021! It is the best choice I've ever made. There are so many different things you can do with this bike, every day you will find something new to do on it or with it. I'm currently learning wheelies on it. The best mod I did was the exhaust! It rumbles like thunders. It is the best feeling. Also you should try to reverse the gears, it is a better mod than adding quickshifter, trust me. About the exhaust, don't take Acrapovic, it is too expensive, i got black widow 200mm. Check my channel to hear the sound.
Congratulations on the new bike man. I wanted one of these so bad but it was taking 6 months to get in after order and was way too over priced so I settled on a used 2018 MT09.
They are great bikes. I have nearly 7000 miles on my 18 MT07 I bought new. I rode it today! The stock suspension was too harsh on hard fast hits on rough roads. I just upgraded it front and rear at 6000 miles. Its a wheelie machine too.
Congrats Greg! Awsm choice with the mt07. You definately should first get used to the stock suspension and then upgrade....man you'll ride a whole new bike! I ride a 2020 mt07 and upgraded to yss suspensions. The difference was amazing. This weekend I'll get the rear shock suspension and I'm looking foreward for Saturday! You will have great fun with that bike, enjoy your time with it! Cheers
Nice choice of a Bike. What i really don´t like about the 21-22 Model is the brightness of the Speedometer. Even on the lowest setting it´s so bright. Riding at night is quite annoying because of this. I tinted mine and now its much better.
I would like to see the videos of you passing riders on the track. I just think it’s funny when you pass riders on the track with much bigger motorcycle’s and specially because it’s black a lot of riders might have a harder time see you coming. Congratulations on your new motorcycle.
"Does it come in black." Is usually the only question I ever have to ask a vehicle salesman. Black 2019 F-150, Black Smoke 2022 FTR. Love it, thanks for the education Eddie.
Stock suspension are not track friendly on this bike, neither, rear set too low, frame geometry... You all a lot of work to make It track friendly. R7 would have been a better choice if you wanted to keep this engine. But perfect bike for street riding.
saaaaa-weeeeeeet, came very close to getting an 2017 mt07 from a 1998 fazer 600 but went for an 08 Fz01 instead. that moody black on black is savage. congrats and enjoy.
What did you have before the CBR300r if you don't mind me asking? I'm wondering what bike I should start on as a beginner with zero riding experience. I hear starting on the dirt is the quickest and smartest way to learn from a lot of people but I also see street bikes and want one more than a dirt bike to learn on. I want to ride on the streets without looking like a hooligan on a dirtbike riding to friends houses, but I also want to learn to ride and increase my experience as I am already behind in the grand scheme of things. I don't want an ADV as they are too heavy and too tall, I don't know any other hybrid bikes that can have fun offroad and on the streets equally. So what do I get? I've been looking at hondas as I want the best reliability my money can buy. Please leave a comment to help me out I'm a noob! Thanks.
Congrats MJ, cool bike! This bike makes me ask, "Why would anyone need more than 650 CCs?" CP2 motor just gives and gives ...and gives. Good call on suspension. Guys dropping a grand on a crappy-vich pipe and keep dangerous stock suspension. Come around a fast bend on canyon with uneven road surface will make even you 'Yelp'...it's crap(ovich)! Love the display on 2022 model, and the controls for it. Yamaha just needs to move the horn (I honk every third time I indicate to turn, and vice versa). Overall great bike. I may upgrade to the 2022. Enjoy!
I love that you got the black on black, my 2021 Mt-09 is black on black and painted everything that was chrome, black.. really sets it off. I still have my 2017 fz-07 is in the garage back in SC . Ohh I'm willing to send you the extra bike side harness I have to hook up to a laptop if you wanted to download the ftecu tuning suite and buy a license to flash the ecu yourself... you have my number. 737
Hello I have already watched some of your videos, a lot of information, thank you very much! Really well done. I will get the new mt-07 2023. Wish you a safe journey at all times! Greetings from Germany! 🤍
Suspension? Was wondering why you choose this? Most reviews say at this price point sv650 or triumph trident have a better suspension even on the track? Please advise as I am shopping also? Also ninja 650 and monster 787 are better on the track. Not trying to put it down just learn.
I put a deposit down on a brand new 2022 mt-07. The dealership held it from December until the other day. Due to me not having my license yet, my buddy brought it home for me 👍😀. You would think that my first service would be free ($210), but NOPE, I have to pay for it myself. The salesman said to keep an eye on the tires, whatever that means. The gas prices here are $4.29. Anyway congratulations on your new bike. Ride Safe...
Nice bike !! I'm between the mt-07 and the sv650, which I understand is good for track too. What are your thoughts on these 2 for beginners or intermediate riders ?
Nice. I was looking at the MT-07 for a while but opted for the Ninja 400. Still learning and also not really into "accidentally" doing wheelies! I think I'd like the extra power now though.
