@@staceygrimes4107 yes, inside is a instruction booklet that shows what adapter is needed to use with an iphone or an android. I only use HDMI to laptop (pc) .
Hi will this also reduce an image if you want to trace something from your phone (if you move it closer to the canvas will the image project smaller on the canvas) ? Sorry if this is a stupid question
I'm glad I found this video (and this channel), I was looking for a mini-projector I could use so I could watch movies with my friends at any time. This and a few other videos helped me a lot in figuring out how to make my choice and get the best I can out of a small budget. Cheers!
I bought one of the Aukey projectors about 5 years ago to enable my friends and I to watch movies whilst on holiday. I was never expecting anything spectacular out of it given the price but I've found that it serves the purpose perfectly well. We don't particularly need fantastic image quality for our use case and since we're normally using it late at night it doesn't have to be especially bright either. Overall, if cheap and cheerful is what you're after, then I think it's money well spent. Cheers for the video, it's nice to see the other options with a similar price.
Thank you, i was waiting on a good budget projector, Man sometimes we just don; have the money for a $500.00 and up projector, but i still have your recommendation for the Optoma HD27, when i get the money,
Optoma HD27 and ACER H6521BD are both great 1080P projectors - they also have a low latency 120Hz mode built in. Can highly recommend for a beginner home theater setup.
I started with a Walmart RCA 3000 lumen 720p native projector for about $300CDN. I have a 106" screen and it was surprisingly good. The only downside is that the fan was loud
Agree. The key words there are started with. If you’re like me you start somewhere and then your love of home theater keeps taking you to the “next thing”.
@@reviewsmolly9354 the fact that you posted this comment a ridiculous amount of times in reply to so many other comments is just too suspicious I would probably recommend whoever reads this to not try the bextzuby unless they do their research on it first.
I have bought a ViVi Mage Xplore 2 Beamer for 40€ and it have 720P. Perfect for my Home. And it works with Daylight with little loudness. This Performance shocked me.
We use a less expensive projector when we going camping to watch football games or just give the kids something to watch away from the adults around a camp fire without worrying about something expensive getting broken. Its not meant to be perfect but it gets the job done!
Great video. I think introducing an affordable projector say under $200 or so in a home that loves movies but are not quite sure whether to pull the trigger on investing $1500 - 3000 is brilliant. Most of us want to experience it first to see if it is similar to a theater and we can compare it to our current 55 - 75" flat screens.
@Bastian De Vos I purchased a WiMiUS K7 projector, and it works great. It doesn't work in a room that is bright. It must be dark like most cheaper projectors. I can make the screen 6ft x 10ft placing the projector about 12ft away. I also purchased a Bestisan 100-watt soundbar that works with Bluetooth. It is quite an experience for about $400 or so. Do I want to jump up to a better projector? Yes, but I will wait for the laser projector to come down some. Plus, I think the audio is just as important so $1500-2000 projector needs $1500-2000 Receiver / full home theater speakers. But $400 today is 80% of $5000 system.
@@mattjaxdad8693 Sounds great! What are the specs on that projector? I got pretty lucky and found a BenQ GP20 HD projector for 30 euros second-hand (from what I’ve seen an absolute steal). I really like the kind of smoother look of a projected image versus a harsher TV screen. Was that also the reason you wanted a projector or was it mostly size? Regarding sound, in my experience I would go with a subwoofer and a sound bar. My family had used a pretty good Bose bar for ages, and we recently upgraded to a JBL 5.1 (5 speakers total, one woofer) system and the difference was staggering, even coming from a very decent sound bar. Genuine cinema quality for under 500 euros.
Hi Chris! I was wondering if you’d be able to help me out with best projector for my golf simulator. I built a shed and unfortunately the screen is so big, yet the projector can only go so high so the image is terrible😅 I need professional help!
Hello, I have a optima h190x, currently projecting to white wall, looking for advice on a screen that I saw on best buy, (elite screen aeon edge free 100 inch) I have a dedicated room, really dark, what's your thoughts on this one?
I bought that goodee years ago and to this day I still like it. Gave me a nice large throw image and it had a nice SRS sound mode that works well with cheap speakers. Problem is that if you use it regularly the lens filter will burn out and you'll see a nasty brown smudge in the projected image. If you use cheap Chinese projectors sporadically (once or twice a month) you're good for a few years but everyday? Projector lens filter will burn out in less than 9 months. Also image quality from Chinese projectors is obviously mediocre/bad. If they say hd it's probably 360 or 480p. If they say 4k supported it's 720p at most. Regardless, I liked my goodee because it gave me a nice large image in a small room until I returned it. Decent projectors are $700 plus and most aren't spending money like that unless you're a weirdo movie buff like me.
My local hospital now has 12” to 18” TV in room so if you have eye sight issue keep one of these with fire stick with preprogrammed VPN to port 443 (most hospitals security will never let you program the VPN in the hospital, but with it being pre-configured on port 443 to them appears 365 Microsoft exchange email) Can greatly improve your hospital stay.
When I was a kid in the 80s the movies were great and the image quality was crap - and we never even noticed it. Now the movies are garbage and all anybody talks about is ever more image quality - despite going blind from staring at LED light all day and night.
For young kids room ,these cheap projector would be a lot of fun for them to watch . And would be the start of learning about electronics down the road . Remember your first room tv , stereo radio ,your first cheap receiver.
found your videos and they have been a big inspiration in helping me create the home theater of my dreams in my own home lots of verry well laid out information .
I bought an older professional "presentation" projector used for $50 and it's only UXGA 1600 x 1200. But the picture quality is rly good. Better than newer cheap fake china "hd" one.
This turned out to be more interesting than I expected. I personally think the quality of an emissive screen (i.e., a regular TV) is so much better than a projected image that the great majority of the time the TV is the better choice, even if you have to sacrifice a little in the way of screen diagonal. (You can always sit a little closer.) But that said, there are obviously times when you need a screen size that only a projector can give you. (The most obvious case being having a bunch of friends over.) It's good to know that for a few hundred dollars you can have an adequate-if-not-great projector and screen for the occasional movie night, emphasis on "night."
Little side question if I may: what are your thoughts on projecting onto a white woodchip wallpaper wall? Does it make a noticeable difference compared to investing into a canvas built for this?
I say try the bare wall first, you've got nothing to lose. I have pimply drywall and it's good enough for me. (My thermostat is also in the way when I'm projecting 120".) If I want a better projector in the future, then I'll pair it with a nice screen.
How amazing the new tv’s are these day you gotta be dumb to get a projector. And if you play a lot of video games tv is the way to go. Playing on a very large screen is very bad for you. Read about it. Actually too much video games is bad no matter what lol
I bought this one for trial. Yes, to show the jury the damages to the home that I just bought. The seller wouldn't mediate and is a compulsive liar and harassed me, so a simple case went to jury. Anyway, the day of trial I couldn't get it to show my damage videos. I panicked and made things worse. Why are these things made so complicated? Can anyone make a recommendation for an easier one maybe with clear labels on the buttons? Trial was horrifying. I won the case but didn't get awarded damages. It was a nightmare. I took it back to Walmart the day after trial.
Just ordered Wanbo Mini for $70 Will do some basic testing on gaming and HD movies but I don't expect much out of them if a $2000+ Laser Projector won't satisfied you then this sure as hell won't. I like cheap projectors as they tend to bring people in to try out a cheap big display alternative to TV. Good thing I just want one for extra display as I'm running out of space to place a TV on a set of furniture.
Am hesitating between the 5020UB 1080p(550$) Vs the 5040 UB 4k (1000$) as a second hand is the 5040 makes that huge difference or just noticed by someone has experience with the projectors? My budget is a bit tight so if the 5040 is a game changer i may try to get the unit.
It's... Definitely worth it. I didn't get exactly this projector, but to get a TV screen big enough to be the same as what these projectors cover, you'd need to spend SO much more. The quality doesn't really matter when you compare it like this. I got a budget projector and it was the best decision I've ever made.
I just bought a used Epson projector with only a couple hundred hours on the lamp for 50 bucks and it looks awesome even at 120 inches during the day, way better option
i just purchased a 50 inch 4k smart tv, but now i am thinking of returning it for a projector for i just moved into a smaller place and i think this form factor work work out great for me!
Can u do a video of you hooking up the cheap projector to the receiver.? Because I got a nice speaker system an OK receiver but I can’t figure out how to use the projector with the AV line with my receiver I hooked it up to an RCV to an AV line but it’s not working
I most appreciate this no B.S. review. The one thing missing from most review is how close/small they will operate. I'm interested in projecting digital artwork from USB to canvas or drawing materials.
I love your channel. You do a great job breaking things down. Question, how much does the screen make a difference with these less expensive projectors? I use screen paint and have always wondered if screen paint can produce the same picture quality as a real screen.
@@ChrisMajestic Thanks Chris. I'm running a BenQ HT2550. Was thinking of upgrading to a real screen over the screen paint, but maybe not. Perhaps I'll upgrade to the BenQ TK850i. Is there a material difference?
I have a clone of this projector. It's definitely a great idea to pick one of these up to try out the projector experience and go up from there if you like it! I'm looking to upgrade to some real hardware soon, but I wouldn't have known if I liked projectors without trying this one out first!
I have bought a ViVi Mage Xplore 2 Beamer for 40€ and it have 720P. Perfect for my Home. And it works with Daylight with little loudness. This Performance shocked me.
I was got a Nexigo PJ40 for $199 and a Yaber k2s for $240 and they are both an order of magnitude better than any of the sub $100 projectors I've owned (I've tested over 10 different models in that price rangeover the past 2 years). Going from a $70-$100 Auking/Happrun/Goodee etc to a $200-$250 Nexigo/Yaber/Vivibright is a night and day difference. I would highly recommend a Nexigo PJ40 or Yaber k1/k2s if you can get them for less than $250,
I bought an acer h5360bd off ebay for £100 including shipping. its a DLP native 720p, but looks so amazing with its colour vibrancy, and detail, and I actually prefer it to a 65inch 4k tv that I have. A 1080p image looks amazing on it. even regular dvd looks very good... get yourself a 2nd hand budget dlp projector, you cant go wrong. even 720p ones are amazing.
I couldn't agree more. Last year I bought a used Mitsubishi XD500U projector, probably very similar to your Acer. It was a school projector and the school district replaced the Mitsubishi projectors with new short throw projectors. The brightness and image quality was much more than I expected, and as you said, regular DVDs also look very good projected. I am very happy with it.
@@rickeyhargrove7556 yh mitsubishi's are also really good. I had an xga resolution mitsubishi dlp, 1024x768, the colour vibrancy was truly amazing, dvds looked freeking sweet.
Hahaha, I swear you made this video after i posted mine on FB pages and people thought I had a really nice projector/tv.....😂😂😂your assessment is true.....i been telling people that it looks a lot better in pictures
Looks like a copy of the "QCK" projector on amazon. Bought it for around the same price on a whim and it wasn't terrible for the price but they're trash for a real home theatre.
I was wondering what it would take to power this while camping, trying to get a projector but don't really know if I need a power bank or a bigger power supply?
I have the BenQ Ht3550. Great projector, but I prefer to NOT use HDR. Seems a lot of content is forcing me to like Disney Plus? Any ideas or recommendations?
Just for games and watching with kids and they are very happy! It’s only cost $64 dollars! I will buy something good in the future for me because I’m not buying anything under $500 dollars. Too many misleading online and cost around $150 up to $500 and people are not happy and complaining this and that.
I once got a cheap projector off eBay, marketed as full HD, that couldn't even do 480p. Not even sure it did 360p. 480p is at least good enough for classic video game systems. Anything below that is gonna be very limited in its usefulness. I did find one use for it, but it wasn't what it was intended for.
This is off topic, but need ideas here. I have a Samsung crystal UHD TV, and a Denon AVR s650 receiver. All hooked together...When watching TV or DVD through it, normally volume is about 25 or so...when watching like HBO max Disney+, Netflix etc, I have to push the Denon from about 25 volume level, to about 50 or more. Is this normal?
I just found your channel and subbed instantly!! My God I'm already obsessed with your movie room 😭❤ I've always wanted one and seeing yours inspires me haha. Glad to start following you!
Chris. Outstanding work as always. Something for other commenters to keep in mind is the used market as long as you pay attention to the hour count. I was able to get an Optoma UST 1080p pj (GT5600) with only 1000 out of 3000 hours on the bulb for $500. Retail is typically $1000ish on that PJ. Now. Next you can review budget home audio. :)
Didd it says how many lumen this budget-projector have? Yes 420p is just to low image...if u ask me..at least 720p at minimum...even at a budget/ projector...otherwise thanks for your great videos here on YT peace out✌☮
I got a vankyo v630w budget 1080p projector from Walmart for $ 269.99 dollars way better than this projector the projector remains me of the rca 480p projector i had before the vankyo v630w projector
I just bought a Groview projector based on someones comparison reviews 1080p for like 140$ and im very surprised how good it looks. Definetly a good purchase. Wanted a decent size tv but since i always end up buying a shield tv and sound system for a better experience, i spent 140$ instead of 600$ for a 4ktv. probably get everything i need for less of what the tv was gonna cost me alone.
It’s important to note that this Projector IS NOT 1080P… it only SUPPORTS 1080 P but it is not native 1080… when you’re shopping for a budget Projector make sure you look at that and make sure you find one that says native 1080 P not one that says supports 1080…. That’s a 720p -480p image most likely.. I hope people do there research and not jumP the gun without reading the FINE DETALS
This is indeed an excellent piece, as it shows us what total rip-offs "name brand" proj3ectors are! Take for instance JVC. A lamp for one of thei4r PJs will cost you $850. For which you can get not one but two decent quality 1080p no-name brand LED projector that does not need lamp. Or a $5,000 3LCD HTPJ from name-brand Epson. C'mon, who do you think cannot see through this racket.
I just want something to watch movies and anime in my room, I would get a TV but for my room I would need at least a 70 inch to comfortably watch a movie or show on it. So I might give a projector a try as long as it's cheaper than a TV.
those amazon projector brands lie about the brightness. 7000 lux?? probably 50 ansi lumen. they always advertise it 4k projector but it's more like the projector accepts 4k signal and the native res is like 480p. the only budget amazon projectors that are actually bright and value for money are from aaxa tech. they've been around for years
Would try it, but not from Amazon, they don't ship products correctly, like in this video, just throw it in a bag like that, received something broken from them and complained about the plastic bag with no protection. Amazon sucks
They're fine for anime if you're a broke college kid but I'd recommend looking for a used projector. I bought a second-hand one from an office that was shutting down six years ago that I still use for my PS3.
I bought this from Amazon. When we switch it on, light for a few seconds then switch back off. It has been a nightmare for my kids since I bought it. Sometimes it does play but not more than 30 min then switched itself off. My 4 yr old is devastated since I can't explain to him what is wrong.
I plan on using this as a alternative to a traditional smart tv hooked up to a mini PC which I'm using as a alternative to a roku box to play my pirated movies in 2024 in my bedroom.
This projector gets the job done pretty well. ru-vid.comUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.
And videos or RU-vid streamers in general you want to keep the pessimistic comments to a littleral minimum. Projectors are all going to be garbage material unless you're spending more than you need to for a TV which is to be expected because it's reverse psychology and the stores make you pay that amount because otherwise you wouldn't be paying that amount that's why you're not getting a TV. It would have been better to make a video about what to look in a projector or how to analyze the could be corrected problems of a projector. Obviously if you make a projector yourself it's going to be a hell lot cheaper but it's still going to be the same quality like the first projector you showed yes people don't care about quality where sharpness they care about budget based devices so it doesn't cost them as much because of Rich trash. That's why people window shop and you should be more focusing on that compared to adding videos of what people should put their taste towards. You're supposed to be influencing a idea and that's what most RU-vidrs fail to implement in their videos.
Help!! I need a projector with adjustable vertical offset/shift...or, I need a projector that projects level with the middle of the screen. The Optoma hd146 either has to be level with the bottom of the screen or a ceiling mount. Both are not options for me
My only issue with these budget projectors is the false advertisement. If its 480p native, just state it that way. If its 100 lumens in brightness, state it like so.
I need something for projecting sewing patterns onto fabric. Will this do the job? I’ll have to mount it from above so it projects onto the floor or table.
I was laying in my bed and looked at my ceiling & thought it would be nice to be able to watch tv that way instead... Any ideas? I thought ultra short throw but not sure how to mount it since I don't have one yet.
