I live in a home full to tech junk that I got when I bought the house: 3 3D TVs, 1 JVC 3D projector, 3 receivers, Wireline control pulse bus, wyrestorm, RTI, speakers in every room, Sonos, a video camera system, and a HAI Leviton PLC that runs everything. Ive been slowly learning all of this tech junk to get it working again and used this video to replace my Yamaha receiver with a Denon receiver I found in the living room so I could get my home theater golf simulator working. This was very helpful.
The problem is most TVs don't have that many HDMI ports. Mine has 4 and I already have 5 devices I want to connect, the soundbar would make 6. In my situation I think Toslink is just fine.
I’ve had my nuclear for almost one year. I am very impressed with it is still going strong, however, when the picture expanded across the screen from corner to corner, it’s only for the commercials, but when the program comes back on, it’s not stretched across the screen from corner to corner how do I fix that anybody out there knows thank you.
Hi Chris, I am a big fan of yours. ive been watching you channel for almost 5 years and I enjoy watching your home theater videos which gives me more idea and knowledge since I am a IT technician. I need advive as i have a Sony 5.1 home theater speaker system with toslink and a ARC HDMI, A Benq projector (TK850i), mediaplayers are Nvidia pro and Amazon fire stick. I need to know how to connect ARC HDMI form my media players to Sony 5.1 home theater system to get Dolby sound, is there any device available?
Having just recently moved to a new apartment, I was gifted a TV with an ARC port and was looking at getting an ARC-enabled soundbar but wasn't sure the benefits or how to properly set it up. This video helped a lot, cohesively explaining why and how to use ARC as well as its limitations (and without throwing in unnecessary jargon about all the supported codecs). Super helpful and not long at all.
Does it matter what kinda hard drive you use and what is something you recommend that’s comparable? We want to take our camping where signal doesn’t work
I did put a new hdmi high speed 2.0b cable into the arc port of the tv and in the arc out port of the reciever. Still no sound. The tv says when I try to put it on hdmi: the to will turn atomatic on hdmi when avaible. Easylink is enabled/on. I'm using philips tv and home cinema harman kardon avr151. What am I doing wrong?
I Enjoy your review. Is it wise for a church to use laser projector.? We have been using led TV 32 inches. But was thinking for something for the pulpit area? Our current church hall is not that dark.
Connecting PC to LG C3 then connect soundbar to TV via eARC won’t affect HDR 120hz for gaming (incurrently get 4K @ 120hz but sounds sucks using just TV speakers).
My parents got a home that was an architects first project in the mid 90's. There are 4 in ceiling speakers hard wired to an RCA jack port in the living room. Everything else in the house is over-built or of high quality. Is it worth looking for a compatible receiver or should they start from scratch? They would probably be happy with a soundbar, but it feels like a waste of potentially great speakers that are already installed.
Chris m8 thx you very much, i was uneducated on the subject of home theater and audio in general, your videos gave me better understanding of what exactly i was looking for plus general knowledge about audio. Thx to you i found someone who is selling exactly what i need if not better for a really good price.🙏
I'm planning on upgrading my 5.1 projector, receiver setup to Atmos. This video confirmed how I was thinking to connect everything. Hdmi cable box, bluray player, firestick, all into receiver, then eArc receiver to projector. Just going to get one rear center speaker connected to the left rear center channel on the receiver. From what I've read, not very much sound is output to the rear centers. Also going to get a custom screen for the projector instead of showing on a white wall like I do now. Looking at a Denon receiver, and possibly a Sony laser projector. I've had a Sony lcd hd projector for 20 years and it's still working fine. Speakers are all NHT except subwoofer which I just had to replace a Definitive Technology 10 inch sub with a Klipsch 10 inch.
I've been watching this channel for 6 or 7 years now since I started learning about 4k projectors and I just love it, I feel like you don't really farm a ton of videos to make more money (which is ok anyway we all need money) you just do the ones that you really like and for stuff you care about. I can appreciate that. I just wish 4k projects came further than they have, seems like they've been pretty stagnant for the last 6 years unless you got tons to drop on a laser projector which don't seem that much different either. Anyway, any upcoming videos or things you're gonna branch into? maybe figuring out which popcorn reallyyyyyyy tastes like movie popcorn? lol
Chris, I have at&t fiber GB connection and routinely speed test at 900MB down and Up through Uverse app and then I get to my Eero app (Eero 5 with 3 nodes covering 3,000 sq ft) and it will vary throughout the day but it is common for me to get 300mb all throughout the house. The Eero system is connected to At&t included router when they set up service and that is in the middle of the house. My problem is patchy video here and there, but specifically Playstation Portal. So I have one eero next to the playstation up stairs with a Wired connection to the PS5. The portal will have weak connection and drop connection altogether. Sorry for the long detail, but will the velop upgrade to wifi6e fix this problem with the portal? I am shocked at these speeds that the portal is so unstable. Sony says it will run well at 5mb per second. My ping usually clocks at 25ms. I do show network jitter through speedtest and fast.com also shows these results so they are consistent. Any quick note back would be appreciated and if I should consider something else let me know. I want to stay in the $300 range, I saw the Velop 6e 3 pack for $299 and have heard good things.
I have 1 Wi-fi 7 BE10000 as my main hooked up with 3 decco Wi-fi 6e mesh satellite mesh routers, all connected to the newest NightHawk CM3000! Speeds are crazy fast, and my Playstation Portal has ZERO lag regardless of the game I'm playing! Best set up I ever had!!!!! I have Spectrum 1 gigabyte plan reaching 1gbps on tests with all 3 of my wi-fi channels!
Just another person talking shit, just another way to get you to spend more money. I have 20 different ways to listen to audio now with optical my audio Is so good thru my Yamaha receivers I don't give a shit . Just another way to force you to buy the next stupid audio trick that really cant improve audio to make a difference. They will have to not use optical to change me.
