Very cool. I wish more manufacturers sold frames separately in different colors and what not. I'm a CZ and Glock guy myself but I did buy a standard P320 when they first hit the market. Ya know, when they would still fire if dropped.
@@lostatsee6867 I knew the P320 did but the wording or the way I read it made me think he was referring to Glock. Which they have had issues with first batches and stuff for some models
Excellent video. A guy I know built a 320 that started with the Nitrite FCU, Wilson grip, Optic slide and the whole box of goodies. He traded it in at the local shop and yours truly is the owner now. I'm a Sig nut as it is and I really like the 320.
The terran tactical +2 mag base plate till fit the regular grip modules just need a very minor sanding with the dremel on the back of the mag well opening. Just an fyi. Great video man!
Ok I see a lot of questions about this so here is my knowledge based on contacting a number of different sources about building these including Sig. The piece that is actually considered the “gun,” and holds the actual serial number is the FCU (fire control unit). That’s the gun....the rest, are modular kit variations and that’s a whole different topic. Something that you’ll have to understand though is that you cannot just go onto sigsauer‘s website and buy the FCU directly from Sigg. You have to find it at a license dealership and you must pick it up directly from that dealership in person while following the standard application process like with any other fully assembled gun. Once you have the FCU in your possession, then you can buy either an entire kit for the rest of the gun, or you can buy it piece by piece from third-party manufacturers, or directly from Sigs website. Sig does have a good selection of modules (uppers, lowers, mags, grip plates, etc.), and you can purchase those directly from sigsauer. Their website actually has a custom builder where you can see exactly what you’re building as you’re adding parts on the site. Good luck finding an FCU or any of the custom works pieces for that matter. They are almost non existent right now which sucks but hopefully they will release more to the dealerships soon.
It especially sucks when you REALLY BADLY want a p320 as your first handgun but you live in California and it isn't on roster.... still doing research though and you're comment is a big help
@@insane4deadpool468 If you are looking to build one from the FCU, then I would search the Sig site for local sig dealers. That you can find in the P320 section if you click on any one of the 320 pistols. Put in your area code and it will find those dealerships. Call them and ask them if they have any FCUs. If not, ask them if they can order it from sig for you. I got my P320 AXG classic recently by doing that and it worked!
I want to custom build mine. Most of the P320's come with a Med. sized grip. I watched the video that Phil Strader did with TFB on RU-vid. They are going to be working with several custom builders so that people know that their parts are Sig approved. You will be able to order all of your parts through Sig's website.
@@drewfortwenty5519 You can't you have to order from a FFL. (Last I checked with Sig) Call around or order from online distributors to send to an FFL. You have to purchase and do paperwork like you do as if you're buying a firearm. If you do get from Sig you have to have it sent to an FFL.
Wow very cool video, I just found your channel recommended to me on RU-vid how awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone build a p320 from parr’s this is a really cool idea. I love how modular these are, it’s like an AR almost. Everyone builds custom glocks so it’s cool to see a sig build 😁. The only serialized part is the fcu I’ll have to see if I can find one of those on its own. Idk if this route will save any money but definitely cool that you can pick and choose what you want. Most local stores around here just carry a very limited stock and it’s always the standard medium frame which I don’t really like. The x carry frame is the best in my hands.
I mean honestly when it comes to things like Glock or Sig their almost like PC computers these days or an AR as in there are so many different upgrades and configurations you can go with its not a bad idea to buy each of the individual parts you want and put your gun together that way. I just wonder how much more expensive you come out going this route?
@Coolride17 I've never bought a complete AR for that reason. I'm going to change out a lot of the parts, so it's better to just build what I want from the ground up.
I bought a Ceratac AR kit and was so unimpressed by the parts it came with I ended up replacing EVERYTHING before I even fired the gun. I really don't know how much I spent on it, and I am afraid to total it up.
Wait till that new 365 grip module comes out. That will diversify this gun a crazy amount being able to use 2 different type of magazine's. I own a p320 but always wanted something alittle smaller like the p365 and now that they are making the grip modules interchangeable i wont have to buy a p365. Sig has all the reasons to have fan boys compared to all other makers with the compatibility of the 320 and 365
The 365 slide is still a huge difference compared to even the subcompact 320 slide. That interchangeable 365 grip for the 320 is neat but ultimately pretty useless/redundant.
Just want to say thank you for making this. I've been shooting pistol seriously for about 5 years with my dad and I'm about to head down my own rabbit hole with a 320. But i couldn't figure out a good way to make a custom p320 without a lot of waste. This is a really cool way to build this gun.
damn man you may have just sold me on a Sig. i have been a Beretta man and i have been thinking about the CZ P01 but now i have some more thinking to do. that looks good
I have both. Plus a model 84 but the Px4 was my first so i think it has my heart. I had not heard of it and when i asked to see it. I knew i had to have it the moment it hit my hand.
The P10c is awesome. I've been carrying one for the last few months. If you buy make sure it does not have an ambi mag release. That would make it an early model and they had yet to work out the kinks (stiff mag release and stiff slide release). Honestly, I would guess that they pulled all of those early models anyway. The P10c is smooth as butter and has an excellent trigger along with excellent fit and finish.
Nice vid ! And this is how the P320 should be marketed and sold. Just buy the FCU and order the parts you want to go on it. No need to have complete models for sale. But, I guess a lot of customers just want to buy a complete firearms so, , ,
I am in the club. I built one from parts. Very satisfying. I couldn't leave the slide/barrel sitting around after buying the pro-cut slide and 3.6" barrel. I am up to 4.
Sig P320 is the best Polymer Striker Fire pistol you can get, i would love to own one. RU-vid has no policy against assemble a pistol, my RU-vid canal is about disassemble and assemble guns, I will like to see you unboxing and assemble this nice Sig gun.
T Ellison Do they allow you to link to the storefronts where you ordered the parts? If so, call storefront, tell them you are mentioning them on RU-vid, and if people contact them about your video they should refer those customers to which part..... just a suggestion (if that is possible-we all understand what idiots youtube is owned/controlled by)
Take the sig barrel to a local machine shop and have them coat it in titanium nitrate. If you do that it would have a longer lasting coating with the nice gold color and you won't have to worry about it being an unreliable fit...
I've been cloning military firearms for a while. If not for that I may not have bought the Sig M17. Now that I have I would say I'm becoming a Sig fanboy myself. It has become my favorite sidearm by far.
Get a Trijicon RMR-06 type 2 and don't even worry about the factory iron sights. No need to co-witness. Over a 2 year continuous battery life, holds zero even after 10,000 rounds through the pistol. You will wear the barrel out long before ever wearing out the RMR. I used to think just like you did until I got the RMR from Trijicon. I find when using a quality RMR like Trijicon makes, the factory sights are just a distraction.
Seth Kinne that’s correct, although i have seen 80% FCUs for sale before, so if one were to buy an 80% FCU and complete it themselves, then slap it into a grip module and throw a slide on top, you’d have an unserialized 320
I’d like to as U did buy parts and put it together, what was the final cost & where would b the best place or places to buy all these parts, Thanks for this video, we’ll talk soon buddy....
Pro Cut Slide .....$400 Recoil spring guide rod.....$30 new Original compact grip frame....$30 new FCU 100% drop in ready .....$286 new Take pin....$14 new Compact 9mm barrel...$104 new The slide was sorta used I used it on another gun before replacing it with another slide but it cost me $400 new Sig does have basic slides available with no optic cut for $250 brand new Most of the parts came from Osage County Guns because they have the best prices the take down came from eBay Oh the Crimson Trace green laser was $237 of Amazon
Tritium, the radioactive isotope used to make night sights glow in the dark without needing to be charged by sunlight, also used in some watches, has a half life of about 12 years; so eventually you’ll have to change them.
I am a fan of the 320 as well. I wear XL gloves and find the small grip work the best for me. You got a sm full size xframe grip module collecting dust? With a few minutes of sandblasting and some 2400 Gun Kote in a cup gun, 45 minutes in an oven and you can have that stainless slide any color they sell.
Sell the parts that are collecting dust. I hate the fact if you want a different size grip frame you have to buy a whole different frame. With the Beretta APX modular handgun the grip frames come with 3 backstraps small medium and large.
No sense in paying the premium buying it piecemeal. You can find 320 for $375. Barrel alone probably costs $140 and thae magazines start in the low $30s. Then there is the FFL fee for the serialized parts. You con order one and have it shipped to your FFL and not pay A dime of sales tax for just over $400. Your money to piss away, do as you wish.
@WinterXL If gun manufacturers would sell direct we could, instead we have to deal with the usual asshole middleman. I almost never go to gunshops, usually just deal with pawn shops when I want A gun received.
Hey Buddy Nice video, and I think I'm getting converted to a 320 state of mind. Love your builds, nice touch. I am kind of the same mind set, I have a box of OEM parts that have been upgraded. I just might go the build your own route next time around. Stay well...........................
Love my P320 9mm Full Size. I was thinking of getting the new FCU from sig because they are going to start that titanium one from the X5 legion and you can build your own with your own parts beginning in October...
Thanks for this video.... Just bought one but was thinking g of doing it this way....first. I'm interested in trying different grip modules on mine,... Sub comp. Please let me know if you would like to get rid of a grip.... Thanks.
I was going to do this because I couldn't find an x-compact RXP anywhere. But after googling around and adding up the prices for everything, it came out more expensive than the whole put-together P320 XC RXP. So I decided to hold out until one appears for sale on the internet somewhere. Hopefully one will appear about the time I get a second stimulus check.
T, this is as close as I have come to wanting one of these. Your Sigs are beautiful. I am wondering how, where and how much the fcu is ? Thanks for a great vid. I got my son and I a Beretta APX when they first came out. We like them but I really like the looks Of your Sig slides. //ji in Oregon
Also the procut slides are sick. I went the gray ghost precision route on mine. Word of warning on the GGPcerakote slides the breach tolerances are extremely tight.
Looks clean man. I like that slide! U didn't know about the Sig carbine kit for the pistol FCU. Thanks for the info. It would be great to have the same trigger pull and consistency on both a long gun and handgun. Sig is killin' it with their chassis system. I'm a 320 fanboy too, don't feel bad.👍
If you're building it to completely stock it's just as much, might as well just buy one. If you know you're going with a custom barrel and slide or whatever it will be cheaper to build and you won't have leftover parts. I always build as I know I'll just be replacing half the parts of a stock gun anyhow so why buy.
I just got a sig FCU. I saw on Sig's website that you can get complete x-change kits that is basically the rest of the firearm in whatever cal you want. I like having the flexibility of fitting my FCU to a 9mm rig and then switching to 357 sig pretty easily. It'd be nice if they came out with an aluminum grip that would match the ss slide. Do you prefer the cut slides for any particular reason?
I have an X5 Legion that has one of the best triggers I've ever shot, as you know this pistol is weighted for competition, So I bought a complete compact pro cut slide and a Wilson Combat Carry 2 grip module to use with the Legion FCu. I now have a compact carry Sig with that awesome trigger and it takes the 17 rnd Legion mags. So for a round $450 I have this great carry piece.
@@NaturallyGreasy I had the X5 Legion, then I bought a compact complete slide and a grip module, those parts came to around 450, so when I want to carry, I put the X5 fcu into the compact set up.
Those slides look very cool, trying to find an FCU right now. I am a huge fan of the X-series, and those sights are outstanding. Congrats on the new build, looks very nice!
that's why I'll never be done building guns. build an ar, order all the parts and have an extra parts kit or extra stock or grip or w.e left over just lookin at me and I'm like "well I dont want it to go to waste" then rinse and repeat
Mine is in a medium compact grip mod. Been thinking about trying the small. While the medium fits my hand fine, I feel like I may have pinched nerve issues that compromise my grip in my support jeans hand.
I’m doing this too but mine is chambered in .357 sig and I’m building it on an xcarry frame. I’m surprised I was able to find the parts, everything is sold out because of all the people panic buying.
Awesome, great job on the new gun. Always wanted to try a Sig. That's great that you don't need tools to put it together. Is it a lot more inexpensive buying it piece by piece, than buying the whole gun??
Great video! Definitely subscribed because of this video. I tried to build a p320 about 3 years ago. The only issue I had was the FCU. Sig customer service said they would not sell them separately. How’d you get that separate FCU?
@@Highgear145 I own an m18, I started with the xcarry and opted for a $100 upgrade because of 2 21 round mags on a slightly larger 320 with a safety. My wife is getting started with the p365 I’m really impressed with both because of the modularity and game changer elements of these two guns.
