Hi Ben, You’ve bought via an auction a not too bad Ford truck F 150 EcoBoost wreck what wasn’t too difficult to repair. After the wheels are lined and the truck has a new door at the driver’s side and all the small damages plus the replaced parts are painted nobody ever will see this truck was wrecked. Put some hose over the brake bleeder valve and put the other end in a old half bottle of brake fluid. That way when you let the brake peddle up it doesn't suck in air and you can bleed them by yourself.

Exactly I used to be terrified to mess with my vehicles mine you this was over 20 years ago. Now I would don't think twice of pulling out my transmission in the driveway if need be. As long as you put them back together the same way they came apart 9 times out of 10 that's all you need to know Obviously with some exceptions.

Probably gonna need the scan tool to blow out ABS block. Bet there is air in it.

@johnr9965 Yeah, my thought also. Bleeding the ABS/ESP pump might be necessary if it has gone dry. Very hard if not impossible without engaging the ABS or doing it with a scan tool with an ABS/ESP pump bleeding function. I've done both ways successfully but seriously recommend a tool that activates the ABS/ESP pump while opening the bleed nipples simultaneously while keeping an eye on the brake fluid container and topping it up at the same time because it runs out quickly. I have a brake bleeder tool connected to the reservoir that fills it up with brake fluid automatically when the brake fluid level goes down in the reservoir. Every shop should have such a tool.

If you bleed the brakes on your own just leave the bleed screw with a rubber line to a container with a little brake fluid and keep it submerged that way when you let your foot off the brake it will not draw air back into the line through the bleed but draw liquid from your container.

My opinion to you, I’d fix and sell that Ford. The owner of the company I work for had the same truck. The turbos fail quite frequent, and the transmission is not good as well if it’s the 10 speed one. Just some things to inspect before you get to deep into the truck.

You need to get some longer upper control arms to correct the upper ball joint geometry. Same thing happened when I leveled out my 4Runner.

The leveling kit is at least a 3",that's why the ball joint angle is so bad. Just put stock struts in it, and drive the wheels off. The 2.7 is much more reliable than the 3.5.

I have a 2020 F150 4X4 Crew Cab XLT, with the 2.7L that I bought new. I can easily get 23 to 24 MPG with it. I really like the truck.

It's amazing to me what insurance companies "total" on a vehicle. I have a feeling the owner was standing there during the assessment and might have had some say in the final outcome because that was an afternoon worth of work to get a perfectly good truck back on the road. Kudos to you for recognizing the simplicity and picking it up for what I can only assume was a decent price.

Hey Ben you can bleed the brakes by yourself easy. Just put a small rubber tube on the bleeder screw/port and put it in a bottle on the ground. After you pump a few times the bottle fills a little and if the hose is at the bottom, the air comes out and will only suck fluid back. Or put a board on the brake pedal to hold it down while you tighten the bleeder screw. Done.

You need to get in touch with MPT down in Florida for a tune!!! You'll be surprised at what that truck can actually do. The Gen 2 2.7 (what you have) can run full e85 on the stock fuel system. You could surprise quite a few people who think that truck is slow😂

Exlcellent truck good fix. VTunned you starting to get a belly my friend its best do a low carb diet now because it is hard to get off after you gain a lot. I have been trying to loose weight and its difficlult to loose after its been on a while. I have lost 75 pounds and it was very difficult I still have more to go. The ladies dont like it.

Sweet, my neighbor has a beautiful 08' F-150 4dr Lariat that was barely wrecked on the front drivers corner. Just needs a fender & the bumper mount straightened out. I believe he bought it from under me for $600 from a Grandpa 1 owner & now, he's telling me that he's trying to get $35k for it, yeah, right. Has less than 100k miles, same color as this 1 but console shift. It's a beautiful truck that's just rotting in the sun because no one will pay what he's asking.

😬 Bro… Not sure who told you to, But.. You are NOT supposed to bleed brakes with the engine running!!! It can cause you problems, and worst case scenario It can damage the Abs system as well… NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! Other than that, Great video!!! 👍

Check the oil pan gasket the 2.7s are extremely horrible for leaking I have the 2015 2.7 with the gen 1 oil pan (no gasket and I’m on the 4th oil pan) yours has a gasket but still leaks, but cheaper to fix.

I suggest you save your money and just fix the wheel liner. Cut a rectangular piece out of scrap abs plastic and rivet it over over the tear, then drill a hole for the screw or clip. Nobody is gonna see it.

DUDE, get back to the firestang. I cringed when he jacked up the truck and placed that short wood block on top of the bad wheel... if the block went across the ENTIRE wheel that would be different but the block didnt reach fully across and was putting all the weight on the center spokes of the wheel... they arent meant to be that strong through the center but radially instead.... i was just waiting for that to collapse.... good grief....

Get a pole wedged between the seat and the brake pedal, then go open the bleeder for a by your self bleed.
