You will love the R3 the more you ride it! I purchased a Z400 two years ago for many of the same reasons you purchased the R3. The old adage, "less is more," is very true. Every time I ride, I end up with a smile on my face. I am 70 and the small bikes are so much fun! Enjoy your bike and have many adventures! Cheers, from across the pond.
I've been watching your videos from the start and after seeing all of your trials and tribulations I think this size engine suits you the best. Good looking bike and is enjoyable to ride.
Bought mine beginning of September and has 22 miles on it at present lol,had the shop fit akrapovic carbon exhaust( yamaha recommended one) plus rear seat cowl. They just been a smile to your face.Enjoy
I had similar thoughts to you wanting to protect the anniversary livery paint & found R&G make a clear vinyl protection kit which covers every individual fairing on the bike pre-cut to the exact shapes & sizes. Should check them out if you're still interested 😉
Congratulations! I am considering moving up from a 2011 CBR250R for a few reasons: I think the R3 is quieter (it’s a twin vs a single); it’s faster (2 seconds faster 0 - 60 to merge onto highways more safely); it has ABS in case of an emergency stop to avoid rear wheel lock up; and… it’s drop dead gorgeous! I have a question: How do you find the wind around your helmet? I am hoping to reduce wind noise too. I have an Arai helmet and am 5’5” tall. Love the R3 60th Anniversary Edition. Looks like fun!
I see your rev limiter light is coming on around 8k rpm which is way too early, should be 11-12k rpm as these engines make most of their power at the top end of the rev range. My guess is it was set low for the break in period (first 1000klms -600miles) the shift light is variable & can be set at any rpm so if your break-in is done I'd look into getting it reset back up at a higher rpm limit where it's supposed to be 😁
What happened to the ducati supersport?? 😢 why would you say is the reason people don’t keep them for more than 2 years but everyone praises them as great.
