NOW WE'RE TALKING! The cool, interesting cars are the ones that get me watching. Even if you only get a few videos out of them and flip them, they're what keep me around.
He got rid of the Hell Cat due to it being scary! I bet a Hell Cat right now would feel like a Kitten in comparison! Imagine him and MWM taking it on the Power Tour next year. THAT would be some awesome content!
Been waiting on this one. Love the old school hotrods. There use to be a guy around here that had a Steel T-Bucket with a 427 Cobra jet in it. He had to put 6 foot wheelie bars on it to keep it from flipping. It was insane! I am sure it is still around Georgia somewhere. Matt.
You hear about cars referred to as rocket sleds and now we've seen one. That is a car show Queen. Hope it makes it to a Cars and Coffee. Hi Micheal. Good to see you again. Another top quality video, Randy. Thank you.
Matt @Iron trap garage has built several all metal cars like the black one, in the last five years 😁 he might have nailhead parts too. Thanks for sharing Randy👍
Brake lines should be double flared. I know Michael is old school but modern safety standards calls for double flares. Looks nice though great bending work that stuff always messes with my head.
Double flare stops the flare from splitting. Master Cool hydraulic flaring tool is the way to go. Does single double bubble AC. Quick disconnect fuel trans and Oring tubing up to 1/2 in. A little pricey but we'll worth it. I've even have put a swell on tubing so when you clamp the hose it won't slip off
When I built mine back in 07 I swore I would drive it daily and I did, rain or shine. Me and grandson would go to the beach and just have the best times. Gotta build another.
Hi Randy! You got yourself a real monster this time. If you're going to drive it,you might want to consider changing out the bench seat, and going to 2 racing bucket seats with harnesses. Also too,a roll bar.
love and respect from Australia ,huge fan and let me say this test drive had me in the bucket on the edge off my seat ,loved it love this channel ,your the BEST MATE
Hey! Just a little hint for you. Your side pipes. I have built a couple of them. My advice is to make a bracket to support the rear of the of the side pipes because over time if you don’t support them they will crack somewhere in the bends. Just saying.
Ooh... I hope not. I have the exact same pipes on mine. It was built in the 90's. ...no problems so far. Just have to remind non-car people not to try stepping on them when they're climbing in or out of the car! Lol
I remember when i was you 5k sub and you were doing your fixes in the driveway, happy to see all your hard work has paid off, keep up the great work and thanks for your content.
T buckets have always been one of my favorites. My 1st one I got from a neighbor I did work for. He gave me a choice, money or a Bird 1921 mod.t kit. Being 15 I took the car. Between working for my father and picking up side work I made enough money to get a few parts each week and soon had a rolling chassis. The only thing missing was an engine. One morning my father told me he needed me to go with him to an equipment auction. I got bored and starting snooping around and came across an old welding trailer. The sign on it said the welder coil was no good, so I had to look. Inside the trailer WAS A 3 CYLINDER AIR COOLED DZEISE DIESEL!! That motor was perfect for that car. I could carry the front wheels in a car that got 52 mpg
I was view 491 and it took me that long to get through the video! Epic Umcle! The Menace of Byars is officially back! That made my weekend! Can’t wait to see the next adventure!
The t-bucket looks and sounds great. Just a few things to iron out. Sounds like my 74 Challenger with a 340 and big cam did, and the body rocks the same also.
I think that upward kick bend about midway down the brake hard line (visible at 25:20) is likely why you're having such a hard time trying to bleed your brakes. Air bubbles always rise to the highest vertical point in the system and that bend is basically acting as a "trap" not allowing trapped air to travel down the line to reach the bleeder.
Used to work in a school bus repair shop . We had a power bleeder with a 2 gal reservoir , put 30 psi air in the top and it would drive any air past a high point
What , it weights nothing, no surprise that it would want to slip out from under you just straightening out of a turn. That is just one of the things that would make this a fun machine. Big power and essentially little traction are fun for a while. Kinda has that Milner look from American Graffiti, Just a bit. May sound crazy, but seat belts !
Randy: on those two buckets remember the old adage, that's the equivalent of strapping a V8 in a roller skate. Keep your speed in check and always have enough room between you and the traffic around you to get that thing shut down and stopped, other than that stay cautious have fun and enjoy it 🙃🙃 ..
very healthy sounding, defiantly a nice build. very cool i also hve a 1923 titled tbucket roadster, it has been sitting and the brake calipers and wheel cylinders need to be gone thru.
If that's an ATK crate engine u should try amd see if u can find it in a catalog. Maybe you'll find some specs. Dial in that carb and forget about the EFI. U wont have fun tuning EFI units with a cam like that unless u know how to dial in fuel tables on your lap top trust me. Guarantee u play with the timming and adjust that idle and transfer slot and you'll love how it runs
My God I love this beast , this is insane but lovely , you scored on this one Randy , If Hellcats and all are scary , how much more this , I'd love this in my life , it looks wonderful , definitely deserves the double piston master cylinder , holley sniper though faster and scary it can be will make the idle better and better vacuum setup also would help, take of the oil pan issue and be careful about it . Stay safe and God bless !!! you nailed it with this thing , sigh.... wish I could work with you guys 😢. 😎👍
I love it. Yes it is a coffin on wheels, yet you arrive at the Pearly Gates backwards and on fire. If I had the money for a pure toy, this would be a contender.
Love it man!!! I ain't a v8 kinda guy but man, imagine a Gn 3.8 in it with a tune with how light it is, it'd just... Scoot!!!! Really needs at least seat belts.
This is in no way a knock… but I’m 59 years old and have been a car guy for over 50 years. I have never heard anyone say they “ain’t a v8 kinda guy.” Live and Learn!!
Glad too see Mike helping you and is feeling better! So looked forward to this one. I could tell this one was going to be insane. Love the sound really like all your videos Randy! Keep up the great work! Definitely love the yellow one
My friend had a t-bucket like yours. It was a death trap also. Install seat belts. Use it for what it is intended for, cool sound and cool looks. It could be the new face of AAR.
I am going to Norman on Sep 23 from Austin. I’ll be passing by Bryersville about 6 or 7pm. Was wondering, if you are in town, I could stop and say Hi for a short time?
Glad to see more car content than walk arounds the past few days! I think you should prioritize car content and drop car videos 4-5 days a week and copart the other couple days.
Build and keep both. The original stock metal body and frame one is a keeper. Put decent headlights on the yellow one and good seat belts with a good roll bar.... The black roadster is worth its weight in gold,, if built correctly....
The rear tires look old, which means they are dried out and hard, (0-traction). If you keep it I'd get a set of the Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R 31-16.00 R15s for it. They're not only cooler looking, but they get much better traction.
I have a 709 wheel horsepower 1997 Honda Civic coupe that I built with my own two hands that runs 9s in the 1/4 mile and I'd give almost anything to have something like that (until it rains). There is absolutely NOTHING like a strong V8. My turbo 4 cylinder is fun because once that turbo hits full boost you can rev it out to 10,000 RPM and it stays in boost between shifts (and it's still torquey down low because it's a 1.8L DOHC VTEC Integra engine in a 2200 lb car), but there's nothing like having power on demand as soon as you peg that throttle. I've owned domestics before and I really miss it sometimes.
They also make baffles for that exhaust that quiets it down quite a bit, if you every decided it's too obnoxious. I have the same exhaust on my T, with a similar motor set up, and mine isn't nearly as loud.
I built a all steel 26 T Bucket in the mid 90s. I started collecting parts in my teens in the late 80s. Finally had it done about 96 /97. 351w / 4 speed top loader . I ported the heads and did the old school ford tricks before the aftermarket support for sbfs really took off. And it was a ton of fun. But marriage and kids necessitated its sale. Ive regretted it every day since. First Hot Rod I built . I did it myself from top to bottom. And I let it go. And I didn't have to. I just thought it was a good idea at the time.
That really needs a higher stall torque converter. When you drop it into gear it just wants to die out on you. You could bump the idle speed up, but you'd need 3 legs to hold it still at a light.
The center of gravity is higher off the ground on the yellow one. Which will make it very unruly and unsafe for much more than a show car trailer queen. The black all metal T is awesome
Good Video Randy Always Entertaining With Santa In The Video A Friend Years ago Had A Steel Body T Bucket Until His Grandson Got A Hold Of It He Wrecked it Had A 289 for a motor
High Randy great video I was waiting for this video and bonus having Santa there helping you fix it the best man to help you fix the T bucket . ooh yeah greetings from up here in Canada your putting out really great content Randy and always looking forward to your videos . .keep up the good work ..
I'm 49 and I would daily that thing in the summertime in a heartbeat the black ones motor kinda looks like it's a 350 Oldsmobile or a '60s model 318 or something
Hay Randy. If you would have a canvas top made like on a dune buggy. And add a custom 1/4 Cowell hood over the engine, and some wipers. That would be a sweet ass t-bucket!!
Let's shout out Xander! His drawings definitely are not bad...they're BAD TO THE BONE! I want to encourage Xander to keep making drawings of his favorite RU-vidrs' vehicles and send them to those people so they can show off how cool his art is. Let's see if his work can go viral!
Hey Randy, love the yellow beast. Does the car have a vacuum brake booster ? If not, that could explain the extra force required to push on the brake pedal, either that or the brake master cylinder is the wrong size
Large cam motors don't make a high vacuum to power the booster. You can and add a extra vac can to help best bet is a dual non power master from a one ton or larger truck
I can't believe that you have never made a brake line! I don't like injection, well Hilborn is fine but I prefer carbs. My daughter built her own T hot rod when she was 14. She also is currently building a 56 Ford sedan delivery. She has a built Olds Rocket, it has a Hilborn injection but it has a computer on it. Have you ever driven a hot rod?
That car is amazing 👏 an absolute ripper of a car such premium content randy man If I was a neighbor I would probably stay up too late lol be out hanging keep up the great work that you know how to do man!!!
This car has a carburator. When you start it you must open the throttle slightly. It's not fuel injected, where you don't touch the throttle. Great car!
Very cool T Bucket not a huge favorite of mine but I totally understand people's attraction. 14,500 is cheap for the performance you get. How about purchasing a Shelby Cobra kit car one of these days, now that peaks my interest!
Randy think u got new hit rod car to take @ ( HOT ROD) PowerTouur 2023 well I forgot about black old school 25 T-Bucket rod project sitting beside yellow newer 27 T-Bucket tough choice in my opinion know one going to sell for sure Randy.
nice car bring it to my house I will show you how to drive it. sounds like your transmission is in drive only. must have manual shift kit in trans. you have manual brakes you have to mash them to make them work. love the color. keep your foot in it.
chevy high performance small blocks are notorious for not starting after shut off. get a high gear starter. we preferred manual trans would park on a grade and bump start our cars when leaving a store.
