Because the 3rd generation iPad was sold until October 2012, it shipped with iOS 6, too.

The iPad 3 only distributed with iOS 6 for about a month compared to 5 months when distributed with iOS 5 did I ever see the box for an iPad 3 that has distributed with iOS 6 I don’t think so so not very many iPad 3s distributed with iOS 6

I remember just after Black Friday 2012 me and my dad were going to get hopefully an iPad 3 and they were all gone by December 2012 so we got the iPad 2 instead

I seen an iPad 3 iOS 6.0.1 for $80 at that Point I just needed to order it off eBay and I did we will see what I got when it arrives

Today marks exactly 12 years since this device came out. It was also the first iPad to support 4G LTE.

bought an iPad Gen 1, comes in 7 days, sold at a pretty good price too, usually old iphone-ipad models are expensive, kinda upset it doesnt have a camera.

The iPad 3rd Generation was discontinued in October 2012, so it shipped with iOS 6 as well

I've got a iPad 3. Is there anyway I can best utilize my iPad 3? I'd like to know if anyone is still utilizing it. The softwares used to be running on stopped from updating and no longer supported. Even the screen is still very good but now I can't even watch RU-vid or Netflix on it.

Two weeks ago I also got an iPad 3 on old iOS. I was hoping it’s iOS 5 but it turned out to be iOS 6.1.2. Nevertheless I’m still happy with it and it was only 15€.
