I bought FAKE Pokemon games off ebay! GBA SP 

You can trade Pokemon from these to legit cartridges and even use action replay for events! So they all work good for me :) even sent my leaf green charizard all the way to ultra moon

I cant believe i used to have all legit copies of games that i cant even get anymore. Its crazy. I still do have a original copy of Pocketmonsters the Japanese release but i cant really play that one its just to have. I never got my hands on Gold, Silver or Crystal. I just had yellow, Leaf green, emerald, Pearl and Diamond and played those through. To bad ill never have my old savedata

You can trade with them and these bootlegs uses flash saving nowadays. Around 8-10 years ago, bootleg GBA pokemon games still used batteries so I think the save files here are better. It is important to note with some cons. -Real time clock doesn't work since they don't have batteries(doesn't matter in Fire Red or Leaf Green). -Since there's no RTC, you won't be able to plant berries. Not that bad for emerald since you can clone items and pokemon there. -It is risky to transfer pokemon to gen IV.... I haven't tried it, but the save files of older bootlegs get deleted when you attempt it. -Since the materials and manufacturing for this are not as good as the original's, sometimes they are finicky to attach and boot up. There might be instances when you need to adjust the cartridge and find a "sweet spot". -In Pokemon Emerald specifically, if you are looking to complete the Battle Frontier, for some reason, the bootleg copy doesn't track your battle Records for any facility. This means if you go on a streak of 14 wins in the battle tower, the moment you turn it off, your streak will come back to 0. This is weird because even in the bootleg copies of Ruby and Sapphire properly keeps the record. I want to complete the battle frontier so I still ended up buying an authentic Emerald for more than $65. You can still do an Iron Man of the battle frontier since winning the Silver and Gold Symbols are permanently recorded. Aside from that, these carts are perfectly fine, especially for Fire Red and Leaf Green. You can trade with them and with original GBA carts. Not to mention they are dirt cheap compared to originals. Most copies of Authentic RSE have dry batteries anyway. Once again, since they use flash saving, their save files should be better now. The only GBA version I will say is worth having would be Pokemon Emerald due to some issues still not solved in the bootleg. But pokemon Emerald is hella expensive nowadays. An Everdrive or Omega Flash cart is an option, but if you're looking to play these games in an original GBA or GBA SP, without blasting your wallet, since good flash carts for the GBA are also expensive around $50-60, these are good options because they can be found bundled in some online stores for less than $35.

It's literally the original OEM software (ROM) put on a GBA cartridge and it's done with good quality for cheap. This is great for everyone. It's not like Nintendo still produces these

Just a note, real game DO have a dimple in the middle. It's kind of subtle, but very noticeable in games where the label is a bit aged, thus allowing you to see a bit through it. One way to distinguish repro copies is usually via the fakes having almost pristine-looking, non-holographic labels. Also, there are index numbers on the real copies that are not present in a repro copy. Great video regardless! :D

The only downfall thing for fake Pokémon games is that for GameCube multiplayer match or transfer is NOT possible!!

to be fair fakes are pretty good i mean i have emerald, ruby and sapphire that are fake. the real ones are better but for now while i save up my money, the fakes are fine for me.

On my bootleg Emerald, I can’t figure out the save. It only actually saves sometimes, and it’s lags and kills the audio while saving

I bought all 5 games for pretty cheap, pretty sure they’re fake. I think I’ll just get a link cable to trade between a real game to store cool stuff.

If they rom copies once you complete the elite 4 isn't that it? You cant get to all the legendaries like you can on the original games?

The back gives it away with the inside rings not being lined up. And I think they don’t say 2001 or 2002 Nintendo

Tbf, the repro cartridges all have new batteries so you won't have to worry about not being able to save like you would with a 20yr old cartridge 👍

But do they delete save files at random? Do they crash unexpectedly? Can you trade with real games/gen 4? I’ve had bad experiences with fakes, but I’ve seen these at a low price.

BE CAREFUL with these, after like 20 hours my emerald Corrupted and now I don’t know if playing it is a good idea or not 🙁. Fire red and leaf green seem to not be as fake because they don’t say “the game can be played” when you boot up your save file

I think as long as a seller is transparent about it being repro it’s fine. Ironically you run the risk of losing your save data on the authentic ones b/c of the internal battery. It’s happened to all of my original cartridges.

I somehow managed to gather 4 of the 5 Pokémon GBA games... But I keep getting LeafGreen fakes from the internet. I always fall for the pictures that show real games. I already have 5 bootlegs, 40€ each, and I have no idea what to do at this point

Another easy way to tell if its fake. Save a game right off the bat, if the audio drops dead silent during part of it its fake.
