Black is always gonna be cool paired with black gear but it's a really tough choice when you get a R1 because the blue is so nice on a Yamaha.

@@callumg_0147 Yeah I get what you mean, I feel the same way with Red on a Ducati, blue Yamaha is still gorgeous, just personally, I’m black all day. But if I was in that position with the R1, it would be a hard choice between black or blue I won’t lie.

I got my license few months ago and my first bike was r3. Every dealer had blue in stock but none had black and due to corona factories didnt ship any new black, at least thats what the dealers told me. Found the last one in black on the other side of the country which was a showroom model and I sent the deposit immediately. Ended up buying the bike and saw it for the first time when it arrived behind a transport truck it was hella beautiful. I was going to buy a ninja 400 if I didnt get that last black. Idk why but yamaha gotta stop using that grey with the blue color, I love the blue but grey accents are so out of place and ugly. Blue is beautiful use black with it or full blue, anything other than grey.

I had a track prepped R1 ( Basically M specced by me , and set for track days , it had 220 hp after a full titanium exhaust system , tune, and changing the cam profiles ) it was snappy af , i can say that if i hadn't changed the pegs , i wouldn't be able to do good . I'm just 25 (yes i think that's young), was a god-tier track junkie and fastboi. (Used to own a track-prepped R1 ) and I've ridden R1,CBR1000RRR-SP, ZH2, Ducati Panigale V4, Daytona 675r, R6, Ninja ZX 10, ninja Zx6, Ninja 300, RE 350,Himalayan,650s, t100, and speed triple, e.t.c. After riding the R1 ( snappy af) , it teaches a lot, and now I'm basically not scared of any bike , i can ride any other bike fearlessly because of the teachings i got from the R1 , and after riding a long time in an R1 , always moving fast even in the streets , i eventually got bored... Eventually i sold it and got a house with some more money Cuz i had to buy a house, but , now I'm looking forward to buying a Trident 660, or a GT 650. For more relaxed riding, cuz i always rode balls to the walls with the R1 . You will enjoy the rides with this hooligan of a bike. My only complaint is , with all my experience, it lacks torque for the racetrack, the pull out of the corners ain't that good, not uptill 7k or 8k rpm , i rode the Aprillia RSV4 1100 Factory at the track , and i absolutely loved it, to be honest the best race bike is one with pretty flat torque or a smooth incline , and a power curve that climbs and has one peak at the top, not many peaks and troughs. As i used to race the R1 , i understand and know that it's so peaky , and it's not as tourquey as a V4 , also I'm a mechanical engineer , so i know that V4s are better than I4s and V2s are better than I2s , and the I3 is the best middleman among all the inline bikes. PS: don't own any bikes now , really broke right now 😂. Should've got another bike too seems now. THE R1 WAS MY FIRST BIKE , and i enjoyed it a lot.. Riding a MTB doing offroad stuff now , maybe will get a dirt bike after doing the race bike stuff that i used to .
