In this video I'm super happy to announce that I bought myself my biggest dream car, a 1984 Toyota Corolla AE86. I talk about how I got it, a little about it, and a brief walk around. I hope you guys enjoy.

This model was my first new car, bought from Precision Toyota in Scottsdale AZ n November 1983 for $10K. It had 12 miles on the odometer. I loved the heck out of that car. I never dreamt there was such a following for these models.

Awesome find man! Glad you got your dream car, I love my 1986 GTS, the AE86 is a great fun chassic that trains the driver.

I just got 1 of these for $500 with a tow clean title. I put it on CL in less then 12hrs I had 8 offers best was 2k. I noticed that this is a special car. I ended up keeping it. Today I got it started tunning the carburetor.

Nice find. I used to chased down the Mexicans with these GT-S hatch backs in NC back in 1998 and paid only $500 Ea. I got 3 of them like that. Fast forward to 2017, I paid 10K + for a GT-S coupe.

Nice to see you did your homework. The coupe will grow on ya. I prefer the SR5 to a GTS from a modifying standpoint. I’d keep a GTS bone stock.

DUDE DO YOU KNOW HOW RARE THE *1984* VERSION IS? There's 1985, 1986, 1987 and so forth, but the 1984 one is rare as balls.

nice lookin on gettin one a 87 sr5 paints faded interior a bit dirty but runs fine everything works for only 2500

Is my dream car from i ever remember and my dad and mom used to own one each and rx7 from 85 but I always loved more the ae86 second the rx7 thinking of finally buying my own ae86 at I am almost 31 year old so is time to finally make the desición and look for a good one

Beautiful car! I had a red 86. Awesome car but it was stolen and they crashed it. Ugh I was very upset. How or where can I find one I'm in search of one.

Thank you very much and I'm sorry to hear about your car. If you look hard enough you can still find a fair deal sometimes especially if you are ok with having to repair things and you find an SR5 car. I found mine on Facebook marketplace

They're not expensive if you import the most you'll pay is about 11,000 USD, but everyone you see selling these in America wants something absurd like 20k or more and I'm like lol no

I talked to rhd about how much they are to import and they are over 20k cleanish

@@CodyKinz I mean they really shouldn't cost that much because the total amount of money it actually cost. To buy the vehicle then the cost and taxes on the import totaled for me at least that on the low end I'd spend about 8,000 and on the high end about 11,000. The real problem is that in America they make it so that it's almost a requirement to have outside assistance for importing. Because of that I'd say you're most difficult part is getting one from a credible source without paying a huge amount extra. Personally, I'm lucky cause I'm friends with a guy who's got contacts in Japan who own an auction house
